Actually sounds like a pretty good way to deal with the loss. The hurt and loss never really goes away, it just gets put into its place. Gone from your life, but never from your heart. {{{hugs}}}
Could not have said it better...

I say that because the end of this work hitch was really difficult for me. Before I got this job that I have now, I used to drive nights delivering parts for the helicopters. Tuesday afternoon, I got a HUGE shock. I'm still friends with all the drivers that I used to work with. Shucks, I see them every week since they deliver parts to my base. Tuesday afternoon, I got a phone call that one of the drivers had been killed in an accident while returning home from Galveston. She was the sweetest lady ever. She never had a bad word to say about anybody.
Some jerk was driving in the total opposite lane over this huge bridge that spans the Houston ship channel. I know the area well. I've driven it hundreds of times. You can't see diddly until you get to the top of the bridge. She gets to the top of the bridge, and there he is. She tried to avoid, but it was a head on collision. BAM, she's gone. I had a major melt down over it Tuesay night. I worked with this woman. She was a doll.
Sorry y'all. I'm not trying to be a downer. Just hurt, frustrated, mad and sad.
Thanks for the listening ear, friends and the support. It is much appreciated. I was bracing to attend services, but I was told last night that she will be cremated. Her body has not yet been released, as she was an organ donor. Typical for her...she was a giving type person.
I'm at that age where I've rather learned to make peace with death after the initial shock. I had a conversation with her out loud this morning and told her what a joy it was knowing her and that she was a class act. Then I asked the good Lord to envelop her family with love and comfort. It's the only way I know how to deal.
Boomer,
Supposedly the limit is 55 or older but we have plenty of younger too. Nobody is checking ID cards around here.
OK! It's hot outside, humid too... Maybe I can wait for summertime!

Bookmarked - is there a dress code if I decide to use the video. Are jammies acceptable evening garb?
Russ, What a cute doggie. From one puppy lover to another that brought on an "awwwww!" moment for both Doree and I. ☺
The Nerd is apparently participating in Naval exercises and is on site for 24hrs instead of work/home like a 8 to 5 job he usually has. It's the price us Navy pukes pay for so called shore billets that count as sea duty. I believe if I know what he's doing that that's the kind of job he has. I have been on the other other side of the exercises (shipboard) and know what it's like. I am in touch with him occasionally and he will be back as soon as he can.No problem boomer! Just don't squish me(I am not very big). pull up a chair, sit on the floor! And as already stated, no one checks IDs and we do have a few young 'uns that check in from time to time (now would be a good time for Cavenerd to pop in...). Where is that young whipper snapper anyway? Just because he is busy with work...

Yes, I did not mean to sound disrespectful, I appreciate all he does in service for us. Being a military mother I especially appreciate it! And that includes all of you that serve(ed), past and present.The Nerd is apparently participating in Naval exercises and is on site for 24hrs instead of work/home like a 8 to 5 job he usually has. Deb that's cool. I've never used Hangouts before. I clicked on the link a few times with no one on so when you where there it surprised me. We're watching TV and I didn't want to interfere with Doree's viewing. Girl you need a camera!

This sounds terrible but, we don't care and you really don't have to tell her. I wouldn't. This really might be a case of hang a sheet up behind you and what she doesn't know definately really won't hurt her. Notice I didn't shave and get gussied up when I blurted and ran at you.jup it's pretty kewl!! I've been meaning to mention this here and keep forgetting, finally remembered. We've done it a few times in the Reo lounge. I actually do have a camera, but have it taped over. this house is in bad shape and SIL would have a fit if I put it on.
