Older Folks and Vaping Back Porch - Part Three

I put $20K out of pocket into my teeth to try and get them solid enough to keep playing trombone but no dice. Spent it out of my 401K actually, once I could withdraw from it without penalty.
Haven't had a trombone in my hands for more than an hour total in the past 7 years.
But, I can throw in some piano. Never needed teeth for that.
My piano abilities are in line with many other things. Don't know if I'm a jack of all trades but I'm definitely master of none.

Gotta say that's the reason I don't hang here much anymore, I'm not into the whole chatroom thing (hubby no likey) and when I come back here either no one's here or they're talkin' about what went on in the chatroom. Not tryin' to rain on the parade here but it has changed the atmosphere back here, feels kinda like bein' the neighborhood kid that doesn't get to play with the other kids, ya know? Kim ..I have been "on the chat" 4 times since it's inception, and one was in excess of 3.5 HOURS .. yet, last time I visited, someone said "We hardly ever get to see you" .. well, a 4 time visit for me, is, in fact, more than I have visited some friends I've known for over 10 years .. hell, I have neighbors I talk to less ..
I still like to write, I still very much enjoy the thread .. we've grown to know each other thru the writing .. writing and visiting the thread when able is important to me and will remain so .. one reason being I can do it when I like .. another reason being, we each have a unique voice when we write ..
and, I am glad you had the courage to broach this subject .. because I've thought about it myself .. I believe the Hangout is great, my visits have all pretty much been a real joy .. but for me, having an admittedly addictive way, it would be too easy to get drawn into something which, speaking only for myself and with absolutely no disrespect toward anyone, could most easily cause me to have a handy excuse to wile away precious time, which I don't have that much left of ..
..So, for me, and speaking for me alone .. I drift toward "A good thing done in moderation" .. that said, it's a wonderful thing, populated by great folks .. it's fun to visit, but I don't want to live there ..

As Willie said, there is a slowdown in the spring/summer, in fact, I just saw a thread in an alert about the forum being slow in the summer, but we know that Kim at least is feeling left out. Sorry Kim! Sure wish you could participate, but I totally get why not. But do want to let you know that you can do it with no camera if that makes a difference. Just talk like on the phone, but you can still see others. But I totally get it when others no likey.Traffic here on the porch has definately slowed down the last few days. Them there appear to be spare ribs although, I doubt the pig they came from considered them to be spare. Next time smear em with a little BBQ sauce and wrap em in foil. Put em in a 220-240 oven and slow cook for about 4 hours. Right before eating open them up, slather them with more sauce and raise the temp to 350 for about 10 min to brown em up. They will be very tender and delicious. Be sure to take their temperature before eating and give em a little more time if needed. I doubt it will be,

I tend to like the very occasional visit to the Hangout but, spending most of my time here on the porch. The nice thing about the porch is I can sit on the couch and watch TV and visit with my porch friends at the same time. I will also talk about almost anything here but, don't feel the same way in Deb's Place.
either that or what we call country style ribs. Definitely pork ribs. They are definitely yummy! Used to make em fairly often. I do bbq sauce also, either make my own, or I get sweet baby ray's hickory brown sugar.......best bottle que sauce there is far as I'm concerned

.. ?? Ribs : Must be Memphis Style Dry Rub, Sauce on the side if you want it (I prefer au natural sauceless) Pork ONLY .. I smoked some ribs over the weekend (although they were really hard to get wrapped in a ZigZag) ..
I was originally just going to grill some bratwursts (Johnsonville Beer Brats, thank you) .. but, I had bought a pack a few months ago when they were on sale and when I took them out of the freezer, they looked discolored and had that "freezer smell" .. so, I went to the Kroger to see what I could find, and a nice full Pork Rib Rack got my attention .. yes, it took a good 12 hours to do it right, but the payoff .. ?? Magnifique .. (He spoke French) .. I just wished I'd had a few hand made tamales to go with them ..
