You are quite welcome. I like this recipe much better when it's still "young" as it seems to fade and the flavors merge together too much if it sits too long.

Wid ya dere, kad! Oh believe me, da same can be said fer flavorings. I long ago I jettisoned da consuming time/effort , non-immediate rewardin' and normally disappointin' steeping regimens (whether it be via time and/or sonic baths and/or...)!

But hey, don't mind moi, just find your own sweet spot/fav flav combo/process and vape on....

NASTY !!!

PETI is gonna be soooo upset wid ya!

Good grief! Is this common where you live? If so, I feel obliged to mention that NW New Mexico isn't half full. Most people brag about how bad their weather is; I claim the best four season climate in the contiguous 48.

If it were common, I wouldn't live here, trust me. :)

Wow. How scary. I know that kind of fear. I live in a heavily wooded area of live oaks and I adore forests but we'll be moving in the next couple years. I'm tired of worrying that one of them will be sitting in my living room some day. No amount of vaping has helped me through these storms.

BTW what kinds of trees are they?

Live oaks are truly awesome, until they collapse. My parents had one collapse but at least it didn't do any damage. A friend parked his work truck under one, summertime and good weather, when he came back the tree had collapsed and the truck was about 8" tall. There are worse stories, but they are awesome trees.

Most of our tress, almost all dead from bark beetles, are ponderosa pines. They have a very deep tap root so they don't normally "tip over," even when dead. They've been snapping off in 100' or less lengths. Probably longer lengths in the drainage where most of them came down. There's over 100 million dead trees in California, seems like most are on this property. Half-heartedly kidding, it's a horrible, truly horrible natural disaster.

Free firewood. ... Seriously, glad you're safe and there's no car/property damage.

Too many dead trees, you can't give the stuff away or convince mills to take it. :(

My morning started out excellent I was sitting on my porch having a morning vape with my coffee, listening to the birds chirp. watching the submarine races. The races were getting kind of boring, so mother nature brought in a side show. A bald eagle swooped down and grabbed a fish. That was worth the price of admission.

I call that a damned fine morning vape! Going to be a long time before anybody here can top that.

Here is a more proper porch hello and welcome to the merry gang. Thought you'd been here before.

Wow, after reading Tutu's post I feel lucky.

So far just rain, lots & lots of rain. So the creeks are rising. (but I got my pool noodles) ;)
The bad news is that there are 400 inches of snow that needs to come down off the mountain this spring. So this won't be a one day event.

(to stay on topic) Got out the ole Cartopipe this morning. (just for giggles)

Nice pipe and glad you have your noodles about you. :)

On a serious note, if you are worried about flooding, what are you doing about your stash? Yes, obviously, there are more important concerns but I ask because if the tree that nearly hit my car went <15 more feet it would have landed on the fridge with my nic stash in it. I actually moved my mods and tanks to a different location in the house due to the trees I was most concerned about coming down. Are you doing anything to protect your stash?

I realize now, when all hell started to break loose here, I had my mod in one hand, flashlight in the other and ordering the dog into the safest place we had. In hindsight my phone should have been in my pocket in case we were trapped. Flooding would happen somewhat slower but do you have a plan?

We have 183% of normal snow pack. We also deliberately live on a hill at 3,000'. We'll be safe even when the other half of CA falls into the sea. :D

I sincerely hope all goes well for you, I'm getting kinda fed up with natural disasters. All the drama and worry and I don't even live in tornado or hurricane territory.

Please stay safe, TJ.

But did you find the trash can lid? Glad it was all misses!

Jup, lid stayed in the trailer. Should have had a live cam on it, must have been quite the sight. Garbage can has taken quite the beating and keeps on ticking. Last year I heard quite a commotion, and gobbling, up on the street. When I went to retrieve the can, it had been knocked over, its liner dragged out of it and a ghastly gash pecked into it. Seeing turkeys around here is a rather new, and welcome, phenomenon.

That is scary! 20 trees? No! But you did great with the nic! I saw on the news that your Governor declared the drought over.

Sent from my LG-V700 using Tapatalk

I'm so thrilled about the nic, you have no idea. :D I feel better too, less ear ringing. I weaned myself to 0mg and stayed there for several months think I was doing great. Then I decided to try some nic and felt much better. My husband said he was happy I was using nic again because I'd been a bit of a PITA (like he's never a PITA :grr: [<-- put a nuclear cloud over that]). 5mg seemed like my sweet spot and haven't changed it.

Anyway, I want to get the benefits of nic--I don't know if dementia is in my family history, plus I have severe ADHD--but I also don't want to feel niced out. Time to experiment! :) Not being the adventurous sort via equipment, I'm rather excited about it.

Wow! So glad that you made it through without damage to you, the car, or home. You will wear out more than one chainsaw cleaning up the trees. Glad to hear your nic level got you through.

Thank you, and thank you everybody that responded to our weather adventure.

We have several chainsaws and are certified to use them via the USFS. Or we were, retired from that long ago but hundreds of hours operating them. We tried to buy the property long ago but the current owner didn't want to sell. :) It's now on him. He didn't heed the warnings. It's all very sad, not only for us but for him, dire for the wildlife. There are programs to help with tree removal so we're sticking around to make sure wildlife habitat is preserved rather than abolished according to the wishes of the gated (mindless/entitled) community below us.

I was looking at the stocking thread today. Do you guys know that FT sells glass syringes? I didn't. Think I'm going to try one to use with my nic. Downside is they are not luer lock, upside is they are dirt cheap. Worth a try.

We also have pine bark beetles. It's a sickening sight to see.

It is. I'm sorry you're going through that too. @MikeE3 has seen it in Colorado before it hit here. Devastating to the wildlife also. I tried to save ours via driplines but it didn't work. They all died within a matter of weeks less than a year ago.

It's weird how you get subconsciously attuned to the trees around you. We walk at night with a few neighbors so we can see the satellites, meteors and stars. We have our designated positions on the street so we don't bump into each other. When the power company came in and cut a bunch of the trees, we all started wandering around the road, we had no bearing. It was a subconscious thing but affected us profoundly.

On those walks, I prattled on about the wonders of vaping (no BS) and they all voted against the nic tax here. At least they listened and tried. They get it now, they were proud to vote no and went out of their way to explain they had voted no. It's all just very sad.

newp. Was in Harker Heights when I put that on there. In Temple now, but still very close to one of the post ranges. Close enough to rattle windows when they're training there. lol

We had one heck of a storm last night. In the space of about 10-20 minutes, hard to keep track when you are that scared, we had roughly 20 trees that came down just on this property. Haven't counted them all yet.

When the wind started earlier in the day, I had to chase down garbage can. I locked it's lid on it and put it in a little open topped trailer in the driveway. The top 30' of one tree flew over the trailer, popped the lid off the garbage can without leaving a mark, put a large gash in the ground, and shattered in the driveway coming to rest literally inches (not feet) from my car. Still scratching my head on how that all worked out with no damage.

I tell you this because I've just lowered my nic from 5 to 4 and last night was pretty stressful. Okay, it was terrifying because the power went out with the first strong gust when the trees started falling. Didn't even think about it until today so I'd say I passed the stress test with flying colors. :)
wow.......so grateful y'all weren't injured and no property damage. Also.......wahoooooooo on you getting through it great with your nic!!!

nice carto pipe! Stay safe darlin!

Vaping some diy Iced Lemon Cookie right now myself.
one of my favorite recipes!

I just saw on the Drudge report that Seattle ballpark were going to start selling fried insects.
I know some folks like em, but soooo not for me.

You are quite welcome. I like this recipe much better when it's still "young" as it seems to fade and the flavors merge together too much if it sits too long.
I agree. With age, the lemon fades but it still tastes good, just not as good as when fresh. I usually do 250 ml at a time cuz I love it so much. I need to do some more mixing soon.

that's just heartbreaking!

That's wonderful, but I do worry bout ya living there. Seems like you have a lot at least potential dangers.

OK. Problem. I am now using my nemmys unkicked. My coils average about 1.7Ω. 30 ga wire, around the magic screw six times. On a fresh battery, a bit burned. I sometimes vape a battery down to 2.6 v with no problems. So, maybe I ought to wrap seven times to get a sweet vape on a fresh battery and not use it down too far?

Ah, the joys of mechs!

If it were me, yeah, I'd go a bit higher on the build, so you don't risk burning the wick with a fresh battery. And 2.6 is too low to run, could shorten the service life. Generally recommended to not go below about 3.2.

I'm pondering the same questions right now. This week I decided to start using one of the backup mechs I got when the FDA stuff started happening, just to get familiar with them. I have 4 Silver Bullets. I picked SB's because I love old stuff. They look great and should last forever, Plus the one time I tried a mech with the button on the bottom I hated it, Looked around for mechs with side buttons and there weren't many choices. One of them I got used. Apparently it fell out of the window of a moving car, the only damage was some chipped paint and a tiny dent on the bottom edge. That's the one I'm using now.

I have a few Kicks but haven't used them other than to check they worked. I did get some of those reusable fuses for peace of mind. So far I've tried it with a Lemo and a Kayfun Lite. With the coils they happened to have in them, one gets slightly too hot hot on a fresh battery, the other is a little weak like it needs more power. But they might need rewicking, can't remember how long they've been in there.

I'm going to be experimenting with coils so I'll be interested to see what you come up with. What tank are you using at the moment?

They are all variations of the KFL+. I also am using fuses, and I have one of my kicks in a can with 510 connections, which I had been using with a fresh battery. I have enough kicks for all of them, but ruined a kick-tube in a fall, along with its topcap. So switched all to unkicked to soften the sting.

I am sure that just one more wrap will solve the problem. May check Ω on all of them today and recoil the lowest.
