Not a mech wizard at all, although I do of course have a few in the vapocalpyse box....

But I've always read that the builder should shoot for the (equivalent) watts of what they prefer when calculating for 3.8 volts. Lions tend to drop off the full charge 4.2 fairly quickly, settle around 3.8 for a long time, then fall off from there quickly. So whatever resistance would give your preferred vape at 3.8 volts is what to build for.

That was silly to ask on the board, but I just wanted to ask to make sure, and show you that I am still vaping. Thanks for the confirmation.

Glad you're still vaping, never a silly question here on ECF. I 50% envy you guys that use mechs, 50% think you all are nuts. At least I know I wouldn't have the patience to learn all I need to know about mechs to use them though I've seen many purdy, super-shiny, uber-tempting ones.

Anyway, today's exchange here reminded me how wonderful it is to be able to come here and get a/many educated answer(s) to a question without any one-upmanship or chest-beating. I guess world politics/tensions are giving me extra warm fuzzies about ECF lately.

My current goal is to make my gear work 100%, 100% of the time. :D [Yeah, that will happen.]

I do have a question though: Why is Murphy's Law so prevalent in vaping? :sneaky:

Nope, nothing silly about that. Sometimes good to just bounce ideas around, and, after all, we never know who's lurking in the background ;)
JUP!

But they might need rewicking, can't remember how long they've been in there.
If you can't remember, they likely do need a good dry burn and rewicking.

I do have a question though: Why is Murphy's Law so prevalent in vaping? :sneaky:
I was gonna say cuz yur not using a bottom feed mech and an RDA, but I know a lot of your issues have nothing to do with tanks, a lot or maybe most of it is juice. I really wish it didn't cause you so many troubles, but glad you haven't given up!

I've been using mechanicals for a long time. (even that old cartopipe I posted the pic of is a mechanical)

My simple trick for a fresh battery:
I build my primary RDA for 3.7v (1.8 ohms)
I also have a second atomizer (2.2 ohms) that I use to knock the top off a charge. (6-8 puffs is all it takes) The batteries "plateau" at 3.8-3.6v for the majority of the charge. With a 1.8 ohm coil +/- 1/10 of a volt doesn't make enough difference in the vape to notice.

So maybe my kick-can would be my best option. I really need to check all of them at my next refill point to see if any are below 1.8. That might be the problem. Needs more research.

I saw that this morning. I'll bet that Navy personnel are adopting
"look at me" clouds with crap batteries that weren't designed for the load. Considering that there are lots of lithium powered devices used in the military, they may be using low CDR batteries in their cloud vaping that were meant for common 5W flashlights. After all, they don't get to go shopping for batteries until the ship hits port.

A different article that says ships at sea are allowing sailors to continue using ecigs until they hit port. The Navy apparently knows that it's a problem centered around the wrong battery used for the power application.
Navy Banning E-Cigarettes from Ships And Aircraft Over Explosion Fears | Military.com

Ships already deployed will be able to request extensions on removing the devices until their next port visits, according to Fleet Forces. Their sailors won't be required to throw away their devices, but they will have to remove their batteries and properly store them.

Sailors on shore still will be allowed to use the devices on Navy bases, but only in designated smoking areas.

Don't know 'bout nowadays, but in da days of yore, da military conducted an investigation fer incidents involving injury/equipment damage.

If 'neglect' was involved, mandatory safety sessions/briefings followed!

Hopefully the Navy will find personal carelessness da major causation. Otherwise, many will be denied vaping...

I expect they still do. They love any excuse to do briefings, aka death by power point!
