Won't comment on the batteries, but you've got a couple of nice pocket cases :)
Exactly! I've taken to leaving a spare battery in my car, but don't like wasting a two-battery case for one (I store them at home in 2-packs).

Man I just dry burned 2 of my Sirens, they were so gunked up you couldn't even tell there was a coil there. Gotta do the other 2 tomorrow.

I had a question for you guys and gals do you think thinner wire gunks up less then thicker. I am using 26awg Kanthal in a 6/7 wrap 3mm spaced coil, I have 27,28,29,30 guages of Kanthal. I know that Mike always uses 29 but anyone have an idea if the thickness of Kanthal makes a difference in gunkability, is that a word? The 26 comes in at 1ohm. I've been thinking of going to TC on 3 of them with 26 SS316L and keep the Kanthal on the Custard which is the one that gunks the fastest. I do like the smoothness of TC better but I don't like to dry burn my SS, once is ok but any more and it just seems to loose it's quality for TC, don't know if it heats up at a different resistance or what causes it to be able to use the same temps and get the same flavor. Maybe it's just me.

Speaking of Temps just got a news blip that for the 2nd year in a row Death Valley recorded the hottest months in the world with an average temp of 107.4 thats including the lows at 5am of 95 avg. The hottest days were July 7th@128 July 8th@127 and July 31st@126. The hottest temp ever recorded on earth actually happened in 1913 in the same place of 134. Now that's cooking.
I use SS 28g wire. I do know that SS doesn't gunk as much or as fast as Kanthal.

Ha! I donct leave any battery powered things in my car for long. It gets too hot in the trunks & cabin in a very short period of time. Then things explode.

Gee those are kinda purdy. Isn't it amazing what you find when you start cleaning stuff out. I found a brand new package of cartomizers for the old carto tanks, these were the good one with 3 pinhead style holes in them. I filed them in the circular file. I still gotta get a bunch of stuff mailed off. I've got the boxes just need to address them but it was all I could do to make my honey bunny breakfast and lunch. I'm not used to having to go 3 days in a row and once I deliver her then gotta go shopping. At least tho I get stuff done while she is getting pumped full of poison that way the Friday I can kinda just kick back for a day. Will get stuff done tomorrow need to get packages mailed on Monday. Found a bunch of old atomizers I think they were called that you dropped juice on and put the long mouthpieces on I think that is how they worked. Pretty bad when you can't even remember how you used them. They look like maybe about a 25 caliber shell casing with cotton in them. Those were the days. Can't believe some of the ways we found to vape back then. No wonder I still smoked also. Geez that was over 9 years ago when I first started then found this place shortly thereafter. I had one of the old mini Provari's that didn't have variable power. I sold that to a guy that used to come here alot. Wonder how hes doin. I know some of the gals kept in touch with him but I forget his name now. Some of you old timers know who I mean, he had a cat which was pretty much his family.

I've got so much obsolete stuff laying around but I have a hard time just disposing of it.

Boxes and boxes of 510 carto's
Bunch of 510 dripping atty's
A boat load of carto tanks
1/2 dozen Rider Robusts (14500 batt mods) ... anyone remember these ... were Janet's favorite at one time
6 or 8 Sigelei Z-Maxes
An MVP 2.0 and a Coolfire
eGo Batts and cone rings, etc
510 Joytech stick batts and cartridges
Nautilus tanks and boxes and boxes of coils (although these should probably be kept in case/when I can no longer do coils and wicks)
GS-Air tanks and coils
1/2 doz. Russian 91's (I liked these better then KFL-Lites, Janet liked KFL's better and still uses KFL-Lites)
A couple Z-Atty's
A few original MMVapors DIDs
A bunch of clone DIDs
A bunch of AGA Genny's
A few Nemmy's (originals and clones)
oh, and I think there's an original Cobra floating around too

And then there's my mech collection of stuff from MMVapors, Super-T, Mr. Frost, etc. These I likely won't part with but they are packed away.

Funny thing is, I didn't find them when we were cleaning out, I found them a year later when the cat knocked everything over

There's still a market for those old things!

Sheesh I was just watching a P Busardo review and I am in stagnate mode I guess. Talking about Freebase Nic, Nic Salt, Open Pod, Closed Pod, Mesh Coils. I knew about the nic but the other stuff just looks more like the way everything is going in this throw away society. Use it, Chuck it, Put a new one in. Hey @MikeE3 I've heard this system on the Siren called a Genesis system, Is that right? The elevated coil with the wick, I use KGD which works really well down with the tips into the bottom of the tank absorbing the juice, no pressure involved. This system really seems to work well, in fact it seems to use the juice faster then the KF, never a flood or dry hit as long as there is juice in the tank, no flow control just pop the top off and fill it up. But then my juice by todays standards might be a little thin pretty close to 50/50. But I also found out that some of the flavoring I use which is the normal all PG with some they tell you to put 17-20% in your mix of 100%VG if I use 10% and the 60/40 mix I use which I think should bring it to 50/50 I don't need that much flavoring.

When I primarily used Geny style atty's my juice mix was always 50/50 and I didn't have wicking problems. IMO, I still feel I got a better vape from a Genny than all the KFL styled current style of most RTAs. The problem was carrying them in your pocket or inadvertantly laying it down. It would be prone to flooding an leaking when you did that.

Thanks @Kenna maybe I'll give it a try. I know you use it with straight power and I have also done that when it starts losing its TC properties that or keep turning it up till I get to about 460 after that I figure it is in too bad of shape to keep using it. Do you dry burn yours or just change out the coil. I generally will dry burn SS once then I change the coil the next time. I don't have any 28 all I have is 26 but should be about the same. If it works well enough might order some 28.

I use 28 for everything. With SS I dry burn very gently, just to a slight red glow. Enough to see that it starts to heat up in the center of the coil. I generally scrub it with a dental brush then give it a second rinse in hot water. Don't know for sure but I suspect I've rewicked them up to half a dozen times and not noticed any drop in performance. After a few times they don't clean up to shiny, they stay a bit grey. No way I could see the condition of the metal surface so just go with the color.

A while ago I put in a new SS coil and had nothing on my calendar for the day so I sat down and wrapped about a dozen coils. Feeling like I should probably change the SS coils more often.

I dry burn maybe 5 times & recoil after that. I don't super heat the coil when dry burning. But there's never that much to get off so don't need to.

I use a piece of wet pipe cleaner to clean the coil after dry burning. Clean it & fire it once & any gunk left on it shows h I can get that off.
BTW, my only juice now is a bourbon custard I diy, h still very little gunk.

I have that problem with the KF's if I forget to shut the juice off and lay them down but with the Sirens I never have that problem at all. The KFs lay down just fine with the juice flow off. There is one place the KF's have the advantage to me and that's the flavor. Seems you can't beat a KF for flavor.

That sounds good but a big question, do you use TC or straight power. I don't think they would lose much with straight power but in TC is where I run into them not performing as well with each cycle. Was it you that got one of the small Siren 2s and didn't get it to work right or was that someone else.

The Siren wasn't me.

I only use SS for TC, otherwise I use kanthal. One thing I have noticed, not with every coil, is that the resistance goes up. I generally start around 0.9. Normally they stay there but once in a while they will jump up as far as 1.1 or 1.2. When that happens I replace them. No idea what causes it. I wondered if they lose material and become a little thinner, but that's just a guess. They are flimsier than kanthal so they get pulled around more when you put a wick in.

Other than that I'm not sure what to look for in terms of losing performance.

I use a commercial coil (wicked) but they never clog up running at low wattage and with flavorless juice. They last from six months to a year before dropping off a bit or getting hard to draw. I have a set of RTAs and prewound (un-wicked) coils (and 100 feet of every size of Kanthal made by Temco {I should get a selection of SS and nickel} in case of the Vapocalypse) but I've never tried them; the Aspire Nautilus just keep on working.

I'm so glad that I went with box style mods. I haven't been tempted to lay down since I got off ego stryle.

What I've noticed is after the first dry burn they either gunk up faster or it takes a higher temp to get it to work right. Probably both. They just didn't seem to work any where close to a new coil in flavor or temp. For me tho you can't beat SS for TC and flavor. I've used Ti, NiFe, NI200 which I hated. Maybe it's just me but nothing works like a new coil. Even with Kanthal. But try as I do I still like TC the best for vaping, just more work which I'm not into at present. Maybe I'll give it another try and I may get some 28 and try it. 26 is nice tho. 28 used to be my go to with Kanthal before they got SS to work with TC, I sort of liked Ti for a while but I just threw a new 100' spool of it away. IMO too dangerous.

Plus the fact I have some of the best TC mods around in the DNA's and YiHi's but they are all excellent in Power mode. There that is better. I may just use a K5 since I have 3 still in the box. Already got the others boxed up for shipment. I've even thought about trying a STM which I have 4 still in the box. Man how did I get so out of control. Stocking up too many times for Vapocolypse.

I've got so much obsolete stuff laying around but I have a hard time just disposing of it.

There are still people using a bunch of that stuff you listed. Even several posts in the last 3-4 months have been by people trying to find more cartos at a reasonable price! You might want to put some of it on the Classies (sell or trade it) or in the PIF Treasure Chest thread...if you were literally thinking of "disposing of it", as in round filing it.

That's a better idea then trashing the stuff. Yet another thing for my to-do list.
