Blame it on the neighbor, way to go you mangy beagle. At least you didn't blame it on Woodstock this time. :)
Oh also there is very little action on that thread because with the latest update people have nothing to complain about they work so well.

Hello good people. I'm pleased to meet you all. I'm not really new to vaping because I have had several of the little things that you can get at a convenience store. Hated them but pretended to use them to quit the real thing. I am ready now to stop; been smoking way too long, about 36 years... Wow.

Husband bought me a cool fire iv it was too bulky so he ended up with it and got me a Nautilus mini. Love it. Just learning how to hit it properly. I still want to smoke it like a cigarette. How long to reprogram the brain?
We've been around to the local shops and have a pretty good collection of juice but I am not fond enough of any of these. I'll be doing the diy I'm sure. :) oh..we live in se Texas and are born and raised... Working refineries. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Is anyone sitting in this rocker? Well don't mind me, beautiful porch!! A lovely day in Texas..:)
Hi, Sheerasowner! Welcome to the Porches & the wonderful world of non-smoking vaping! I'm in SETX, also!

Yep you are right I am sold on TC. I am also amazed YiHi came through with the upgrade. Everyone figured when they came out with a new mod they would leave us in the dirt but they didn't they fixed everything everyone complained about. I think that happened when they heard from who knows how many people had multiple M's and they went to a big vape meet in Paris and heard from more they fixed things right up.

Heres the letter I got.

Dear Patrick:

Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 2058, the FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act of 2015. It is an honor to represent the people of Eastern Washington and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with me.

On April 25, 2014, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) proposed a regulation that would require manufacturers of premium cigars, e-vapor products and other so called "deemed tobacco products" to acquire pre-market approval for that have come to the market after February 15, 2007. This regulation would require companies to stop selling all electric cigar and vapor products that haven't gotten pre-market approval if they were released after that date, whereas most products under the FDA's jurisdiction, including cigar and vapor products released before 2007, may be on the shelves while awaiting FDA approval. This regulation, specifically the arbitrary grandfather date of February 15, 2007, creates an illogical and unfair inequality between innovative products that have come to the market after February 2007 and those on the market before that date. In 2007, the market for electronic cigar and vapor products was just becoming established and as such, newer products are more technologically advanced and often safer for consumers.

To address this concern, Rep. Tom Cole introduced the FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act, which seeks to move the deeming regulation date to 2015. This legislation lessens the burdens on innovative thinkers and small businesses involved in the electronic cigar and vapor industry. As a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the committee tasked with jurisdiction over the FDA, I am committed to ensuring that our laws and regulations keep pace so that innovation continues and both businesses and consumers benefit. Be assured that I will keep your views in mind as Congress continues to examine this issue.

Thank you again for contacting me on this important issue. As your Representative in Congress, I am committed to putting the best interests of Eastern Washington first. Please visit my website at www.mcmorrisrodgers.house.gov for additional information or to sign up for my e-newsletter. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

There is a thread about it here. https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/f...is-just-made-the-front-page-of-drudge.709694/

There's a picture in that thread. They seemed to have pretty reached the same conclusion as you have but it's hard to tell from the picture they have to work with. The drip tip exploded in his throat? Yeah, right.
This is a competition style mechanical mod(Rig V2) with a Velocity topper on it. The mechanical mods require the positive pins to be in constant contact, and this is not possible with the Velocity topper which is meant for a regulated mod.
This kind of mis-match in devices ... well... he kid obviously didn't understand what he was doing and paid a price.

Hey I actually got a letter back from my congresswoman after sending letters to "The Top" and all the other BSer's. She said she feels it would be stupid to roll the date back to 2007 after all the work that has gone into ecigs to make them more safe and efficient. Less harmful then the beginning. I almost fell off my chair.
is she running for President? I would vote for her!!

I went to Zivipf.com and ordered some of their NiFe48 which everyone is gaga about. I don't know if it went through because Paypal is having technical difficulties. Figures.
Hope you get it. Hate it when it fouls up and you're not sure if the order actually went through. FT had a glitch recently that instead of putting a single order through, put three through. Wrote them immediately and they had it fixed and refunded by the time I woke up in the morning. I was thankful and very impressed.

Sincerely,
:-x Bloody hell, she said, "I will keep your views in mind as Congress continues to examine this issue." She seems to get it, why can't she at least say, at a minimum, that she is leaning towards voting for it? "Keep your views in mind" is just like the term "think of the children." They are either for or against, leaning towards or against something and do not have the flipping brass to reveal their hand to their constituents.

Legs, I'm not coming unglued on you at all, I'm just sick of seeing noncommittal form letters like this. Hey, this time they included the cigar smokers in this form letter, guess they're raising a stink. Good on them! But so help me, if any politician stops ignoring me and sends a letter like that, I will demand to know where they stand instead of sending me a one-size-fits-all form letter. I elect and pay taxes that go to their salaries for them to represent me (us), not for them to waffle and sell out to the highest campaign bidder. Enough of this crap and not only about vaping but other important legislation. End rant.

Ken, thanks. They were waffling about the mod/topper last time I looked. They just weren't sure what it was. I feel terrible for him. He was likely screwed by a B&M looking for a fast buck. It's a crying shame he/his family didn't do their homework. Neither likely knew they had to do any. I hope he fully recovers, not so much for the B&M.

The timing of this was just awful, and a young man was injured - again, awful. A battery vented. That's pretty much all we know. I'll be interested to see whether anyone follows up, or tries to determine root cause.

I'd much rather kids didn't smoke or vape, but kids will find a way to try different things if they want to. I'd much rather a kid picked up a PV than a cigarette. As it stands now it's going to be easier for them to buy the stuff that's now legal and that comes with it's own set of problems. I'm still confident that we're going to look back on these flaming times and shake our head at the idiots who lied and fought vaping. I just hope it happens in my lifetime.

Anybody get the feeling Legs is kinda into TC? Just a little bit? Nice to have a guru on our own thread.

Yep, I agree ... it's really nice to have him keep us informed about that arena of vaping.

Well this looks like a positive response ... but after re-reading it ... It was unclear to me where she stood on it. Hopefully - she'll be 'on our side'.

From what I have been reading the Zivipf NiFe48 can be wrapped in a contact coil and dry burned just like kanthal. An 8 wrap 2.5mm coil comes in around .4+ ohms and works well with temp control. Now Wire Wizard will give you the temp offset if using a mod with just Ni or Ti modes.

@2legsshrt , Wire Wizard? What's Wire Wizard?

Sounds GREAT, Matt! Thank you! Bigbells spoke highly of these models, too!

And I'm another fan. I've got a few and love them. I even dropped my iStick 50 in the pool this summer, but hubby jumped in and retrieved it and it survived! I assumed it would be ruined so didn't even do the whole pack it in rice trick, just dried it off and put it on the counter. It seems to be fine.
