We didn't get into the clearomizers until we got the eGo's. Used them for awhile and decided I liked seeing how much juice was in the tank. I had a friend who I got vaping and she said it was "creepy" seeing the juice. Never understood that, but she's not even vaping anymore and is very grateful for vaping.
I got some 808 threaded ego style 650 mah batteries. Wow! was I in heaven!

Cartos and carto tanks on egos were my start. Went to the Stardust/CE4+ (replaceable head versions!) when I first came across them. Then evods and T3. Still use the T3S on spinner types, along with other single bottom coil clearos. Makes for a nice, pocket friendly backup or flavor change unit.

Didn't go "big", i.e. replaceable battery mods, until my first vapaversary, and the SVD1 I got then is still in rotation 2 years later. And fondly (not!) remember all the chatter back then about how "chinese" mods would only last a year.

Last thread, I didn't get to it until page 10 I think, so it's been over a year since I posted this.
Everyone's journey is different, but the destination is the same.

I started smoking in the 1980s when I joined the Army. Smokers got two extra breaks back then.

After Basic Training, I switched to a pipe because I liked the flavor better.

Then after 25 years, I was waking myself up with that wheezing sound you get lying on your side and had to sit up and cough really hard to clear it out.

I started looking to quit or switch to something else. Heard about vaping, but e-pipes were expensive and didn’t work well. The Government and many organizations funded by large companies confused the issue by trying to tell me that vaping was worse than smoking.

In October 2012, I started finding ones I could try without breaking the bank or the device so I got a one in the mail on Friday November 2.

I’m one of the lucky ones. I immediately replaced smoking with vaping.

I have more energy now, and do not lose my breath walking down the street.

I noticed a large reduction in muscle stiffness and no longer sound like a breakfast cereal when I get up in the morning.

My sense of smell and taste are like they were when I was a boy. My skin is no longer ashy, and my blood pressure is now normal.

View attachment 498929 dodari! Glad to see you here. Lots of fun and the best group ever!

REOnauts Unite!!!:) Now and then I puff my Reo Grand whilst crossin' the Rio Grande.

I always check the Reo roll call that Nerak does over on the Reo forum. Love the things except for having to pack a couple of extra 18650s to keep the Reo running pleasantly hot at about .6-.7 Ohms.

Ciaou bene.

How many of you are still using the same mod after 3 1/2 years???
Not me. The mod I was using 3.5 years ago came 20 to the pack and were called Newport 100s.

2.5 years ago I can respond to, and my answer is that I never use my 650 mah Ego fixed-voltage sticks that I started with. In fact, I used them for less than 2 months before finding variable power.

I'm sold on temperature control and I'm unlikely to ever again buy anything that lacks temperature control capability.

Hard to fathom that Provari has now caught up with the times enough to make a box mod, and I welcome them to the year 2013.

Thanks Iffy, I've been quietly lurking for a coupla years. I do appreciate the prayers. I'll just grab that old overstuffed chair o'er there next to the stereo and dig my R. Strauss, Wagner and Mahler, and some Basie, Kenton, Ellington, Ferguson and Ella too. Umm, Charlie Parker too.
Dodari, welcome to the porch! Thrilled Mutt and Jeff "coaxed" you out of the bushes too (I'll have a word with Mutt and Jeff for missing you for that long--what the hell did you bribe them with?!). Hope the new doctor can help you in a life-changing way. :thumb: Oh, and do stick around a:thumb:nd keep us updated, we actually do care, a lot.
dat's not berry nice!!! Ya want I should whack her for ya??? (gently of course since she didn't know)
Nice mod Mike!! So kewl year 4 is right around the corner!! congrats!!!
I knew you'd come through. Give it to her, she could see I was on there.
G-son's condition is controlled with infusions but is incurable.
Trip's condition is improving.
Thank you for the clarification. Juggling too much right now. I'm terribly sorry about your g-son. How I wish the bad stuff happened only to those that deserve it.
Ya snooze ya lose. :D
I was hustling because you said you were requesting it be closed. Damn they're fast at all the wrong times. :sneaky:
Flaming, you did a great job on the new porch! Love the ocean and love the trees where we'll be up with the birds! We'll have to get a bunch more chairs up there though, I'll bring the cushions. I'm bringing the Honey Jack because I'm definitely gonna try out the slide, just not sure how I'll get back up top again. We may have to bring in a crane or is there a hidden elevator?
Glad you like it.

I tried this...

But now we have a real elevator. As soon as the others tire of it, it's all yours.

Once he stops screwing around we'll have it lined with something cushy. :)
Awww, sorry Mom is sick! She gets extra hugs for that!. And Dad gets hugs, too, for finally getting behind you on this!! A victory should be celebrated!
Kenna, thank you. She started to rebound today, even got the better of Dad several times with her dry wit. Left him in the dust actually. They are aging quickly now with amazing grace. I envy them, yet we are planning to come back in three months instead of six, no matter what it costs us. So grateful to have had them this long, and more that they've had each other this long.
Everyone ignores Jim? :(
Stella too. Poor Jim and Stella.
Ah, but don't drop it! Tanks break!
Personally... have two Provari's. Not a fan. Yeah, lighter than most but to me a real PITA to adjust. And I may adjust a half dozen times on one tank. Many mods out there run rings around em (IMO) for a fraction of the price.
Frickin' spoil sport.

Well I went and done did it. Shinyitis got the better of me. I pre-ordered one of these. Should arrive right around my 4 year vaperversay in a couple-few weeks. Its the Radius, a new release for Provape.

Mod looks and reads ok Mike.
Though I do think these days all reg mods that come out should read the resistance to two decimal places.

Oh my, see what happens when I'm tired. Thought I'd welcomed you last night before I went to bed and just realized I'd never done it. So, anyway, welcome to the thread Dodari. Sorry to hear about your medical condition, I'll definitely keep you in my prayers. Hope you stick around, there's some truly caring people here and on the back porch who are very good at offering support, humor and even music to keep your spirits up. That overstuffed chair o'er there looks perfect for you and we won't even make you share it.

Like Provari, I also think TC is still in its infancy. Lots to sort out before I'll bite.

So, maybe next year, when it is (guessing things will move along quickly, as they seem to do!), Provari will come out with a TC model box and call it the Ulna?

I guess this is the harder way of getting our new front porch on my watched threads list.

I started with 808 cigalikes, my first vape marked my last smoke. Went on to Volt 808's but transitioned to 510 equipment, with egos. Then I went on to Vamos. Started mixing my own juices. Started recoiling heads for clearos, and got into heavy flavor-flitting. Decided to get into mechs and rebuildables and trimmed my flavor collection. Now settled at twelve flavors, rotated among six single-coil Orchids, with two kicked Nemeses. Not planning on any hardware changes, but may order some more flavorings in a few months. ATM, no planned purchases.

Yeah pretty much the same here. Need to get some more VG in a month or so. Aside from that I am good for a minimum of 6 months to a year.

Still tempted to get an Evic VTC mini though.

True temprrature selection will require a more complex connection than a 510. Four contacts at least. Two for power and two for the temperature probe.

Measuring resistance change only works in an ideal situation. Get some buildup on the coil.. no good. Imperfect connection.. no good.

Now if they called it "Wick Protection" it would make sense. Use the limiter to keep dry hits from happening while still using VW to set the vape temperature.

Using the limiter to set the temp you want to vape at is like using a cars rev limiter to do cruise control. There needs to be an independent temperature sensor.
