True temprrature selection will require a more complex connection than a 510. Four contacts at least. Two for power and two for the temperature probe.

Measuring resistance change only works in an ideal situation. Get some buildup on the coil.. no good. Imperfect connection.. no good.

Now if they called it "Wick Protection" it would make sense. Use the limiter to keep dry hits from happening while still using VW to set the vape temperature.

Using the limiter to set the temp you want to vape at is like using a cars rev limiter to do cruise control. There needs to be an independent temperature sensor.

Wow! Pool maintenance and deck ornament in one. I have a pool that could use some work come to think of it.

Definitely not me! I don't use anything from the early days, but I tend to stick with one thing for a good while before I take to a new shiny toy and then the old one gets put away. Heck, the only reason I got a P-mini was because I won it. Quite a change from my eGo's, but it didn't take long at all to transition and never looked back. I do remember being quite happy with my initial 808's in the beginning, but I was so freak'n happy about not smoking I probably would have been happy with something the size of my mixer.

I gave away my ego batteries and threw away the other stuff just the other day. Had several Vivi Nova tanks that I couldn't remember where I bought and had refills for that didn't fit so off they went. Using a homemade SX350 device, an IPV3 and now a Istick TC40W. Have no desire to go back.

I don't consider it 'missing' TC. I have 3 TC mods. Two I went back to VW mode w/ kanthal coils and the other is still running a nickel coil. Maybe I haven't given it enough 'experimentation' but I don't see a quantum/significant difference from my kanthal builds w/ VV or VW mods.



Whoa! That sounds ambitious. I hope we get some pictures along the way. The Radius doesn't use a spring for completing the circuit somewhat like you're planning to do. Nice!

Mike that wasn't a put down on the Provari. I too use VW mode. Built my first TC nickle coil the other day on the TC40W and used it for maybe 2 hours before going back to VW mode. Wasn't overly impressed and it was messing up royally.

Nice work! Do you notice a difference in the vape or do you just like twisting wire.

The thing with claptons and such is that they have more surface area ro vaporize liquid. However they also have lots of nooks and crannys to get filled with coil crud.
