No welding required. :)

So you don't even need to stock nic, it's merely a question of getting as close to self-sufficient as you can. PG and VG will be unaffected, as will resistance wire, cotton or rayon for wick, and lithium batteries. All of those are used in lots of other areas.

vaping specific things could be banned if they weren't on the market before 2007 - and not much was. That's the snag with built in battery devices, imo. They will eventually cease to work, and if they've been outlawed, will be hard to come by replacements.

Lots of utube vids on making coils, for all sorts of toppers. It's not really hard, and not too much to learn. Some simple safety precautions to learn.

And once we lead you down this path and spend your money on the hardware, at least a few of us here for even more help!
When I read the GRAS list, I thought many ingredients found in vape liquid were already being used. Vegetable glycerin was probably being used in food, but they made a fuss over propylene glycol -- but if I recall, it was being used in Cheerios until recently (although I need to fact check). It sounds like a valuable and resourceful skill to learn. If they (meaning this new bill) really regulates vaping, then this could make me self-sufficient enough to not have to worry about losing my vape? I can never go back to smoking, ever. I'm afraid of winding up on oxygen again. I'm capable of learning anything I put my mind to especially if it saves lives. Where do I start? Youtube? Has anyone written the definitive guide to vape supplies and gear? I was reading the history of vaping about five years ago and was surprised it had been around for such a long, long time. There has to be a handbook published or being published. Any starting points will be helpful. I am going to need to fill my mind with creative projects that do not require physical activity because I am in for another major surgery that will have me laid up approximately nine months. My husband and I are already shopping for voice recognition programs for the internet. My blind friend is recommending I buy dragon dictate. I will not be able to use my right arm or hand for several months so the more reading and demonstrations, the better. I will still be able to vape! One other person has written to me about changing my current vape setup. Are my materials that antiquated? It's really a matter of lack of knowledge. I would rather acquire knowledge than purchase it. P.S. THANX.

he, he ... I think I'm done ordering KFL Lites now ... with what I just did ... we're at 5 nano's and 9 full size. I've got other RTA's I like a bit better ... but the KFL-lites are a workhorse and work just fine for our vaping needs.
What do you have that you like better? Just curious. You know I'm stocking up for the Vapocalypse.:)

That counts! It's a fine idea and I wish I had tried a hooka! Is it used for tobacco and fruit?
You might have said that. It was in the middle of a cable reel coffee table and was used back in the day for illicit purposes. This was in 1972 Daytona Beach you know.

I am still thinking of getting 3 more M class SX's. They went out of production in August but there is still a few left. Not a big selection on colors but that doesn't really matter you just put a sleeve on them because the finish is crap. They have the ML coming out but the only diff is it has something called Q that allows you to put a vaping curve in and $20 more if you preorder. I am sure there will be more advanced stuff coming out but not sure how much more advanced they could get. You have the ability to use any wire available or that may come up in the future. What else is there accurate with any wire. I just can't think of anything they could come up with maybe a faster processor or something. I am not so worried about Vapocolypse but they will be out of stock soon. There is always the ML but I think it will have finish problems also cause they used zinc again. Supposedly the chip is faster and they are a little cooler looking but basically the same. IDK maybe. Gotta have something to use my nic up. Who knows what the govt is going to do but I think the first thing to go will be the nic.
Makes sense because that cuts to the root of the matter. I've got 2 liters in the freezer now and am thinking of one more. If I use all of that then I'll just go to zero nic. I think flavors may be a problem too. At least the ease of which we can order flavors now.

I seem to be the lone Kayfun v4 fan...

:(
I've got a clone (forget who) but, I don't care for it much. Works good but I find them way too "fiddly" for my taste. The expanded diagram reminds me of a tech manual for a jet engine!:lol:

Did my cushion in the sun get moved with the porch? If not this old purple kitty might just have to invest in a new one.

As you all know it was a rough summer and that turned into a stupidly busy tiring summer helping the Mother in Law adjust to things and deal with property and finances and 100 other things (yes I did have to teach her how to check her tires and put gas in the car). It all added up to I needed some time to decompress and become a much less growly kitty. :)

I am doing fine overall. Vaping wise I think I am going through another one of those change periods.

After months of nothing tasting good to me suddenly the tastebuds have kicked into high gear and everything tastes too strong or not like I thought it did. So now I am mucking about with some new DIY flavor at MUCH lower concentrations.

After vaping 24 mg all summer I am finally back down to 12 and working my way back down to 4 which seems to be the lowest I can go and stay sane.

I have finally figured out how to drive with my REOs. Now I just hate taking them out of the house as I am afraid I will loose one. Yes folks I managed to loose 2 ego batteries over all the traveling dealing with my father in laws illness.

I just picked up a NIFTY kit for rebuilding tools Wotofo DIY Kit

I also am giving those japanese cotton pads a try. So far loving them.

Super handy for portable REO maintenance and having everything in one place. I LOVE the coil winder in it. The tools seem to be decent quality as well.

I am seriously considering picking up a sub box mini kit for a portable vape that I wouldn't cry if I dropped or lost. Its a decent deal at $60 and the reviews are excellent. Any opinions?

Anyways just thought I would pop in and let you all know that I am still around. I often lurk and read the forums more than I post these days as I am often doing it on my phone which is not particularly suited to typing messages.
HI Myrany, Nice to see you!! If your looking for a nice, small VW device to carry around you can get one of the Istick TC40W for under $30 if you shop around. Variable wattage and Temperature control if you decide to try that. Just mentioning it cause losing it would be half the cost of losing the Sub box. :)

@MattB101 won a Halloween Disruptor in the Innokin contest! Congratulations Matt!
Thanks. Like I said on the back porch, I didn't even know until you posted it. Obviously need to check my mail more often. Thanks again. Now I'm looking for another battery (anything except orange) and an external charger. MFS doesn't have them so no discount on that one. I wonder if other vape establishments price match? :)

Oh yeah, totally appropriate and justified since his selfie!!!

Luv ya Mattman, he who took a bite outta crime, and paid fer it...

Seriously, your pic bolstered my belief in dat you're a confident badazz!

My only challenging pic would be da one where I had my head shaved in support of my Mom's brain cancer battle. Da only scenario in which dat would occur again would be if FL reinstates ol' Sparky...
Post it my friend. Remember, no pic and it didn't happen. That's why i never carried a camera until recently!!:lol::lol:

Hi All! :)

My husband and I were really enjoying this forum last night! He said he could hear me laughing when he stepped out of the elevator!!! He used to smoke a pipe once in a while and it smelled a whole lot better than my rancid Carlton 100s!

I am quite upset that the FDA, WHO and cigarette companies are trying to regulate and monopolize the free market. They just can't DO that, can they??? We just broke out of the chains of the people who imprisoned us with poison for so long. At this point, I am going to stock up for sure. They have too much power. How far are they going to go? They've done a great job demonizing us. If they can get a foot through the door they won't stop there. We like our State Representative and voted for her twice. I hope other people in this state want to keep vaping as much as we do! I have only run into one other vaper! I have purchased starter kits just a few times for friends who said they wanted to quit, but couldn't. I guess they weren't ready. I also met smokers who were angry that I said I had quit smoking cigarettes. They think vaping IS smoking!!!

I have been paying close attention to the different batteries and am amazed at the choices out there. I will admit that anything I have to screw together and fiddle with to get to vape properly will drive me crazy! After I had my C-spine surgeries, it affected my hand dexterity and I am dropping things more than I ever have. We found PILLS on the floor (coumadin!) and we are in the process of adopting a few kittens, so I now only take my meds over a closed kitchen sink in case I drop something and don't notice.

Thankfully, I have full control when playing counterpoint pieces and artificial harmonics. What a close call!!! Anyway, I am ready to purchase either more of what I already have for the sake of money and convenience, or something as user-friendly. I know they won't last forever. I like simply replacing the coils and keeping things simple. I am amazed I have used less than a box of five coils in about a year!!! I vape a lot! At times I just sit and chain vape to relax, reboot and self-soothe. I don't know how my batteries have lasted so long, but I'm happy about it because they were not expensive at all.

I'm worried enough to start really stocking up!!! If I ask questions that are extremely moronic, please bear with me! I read everything here! It's amazing! I am still making some really silly mistakes, though!!
Don't worry. we'll be more than glad to help you spend you money! We be great at that!;)

Well, I live in Colorado, and that pretty much says it all!!! I have serious chronic pain and live in the right place for non addictive treatment! Back in Boston, they had patients like myself on heavy narcotic medication and because of the medical people in my immediate family, they prepared me for how to communicate with doctors who thought they were gods. When they suggested I start on Oxycontin, I walked out of the clinic. Well, more like hobbled!!! Respiratory distress killed off several of my friends with MS. It's a great end stage drug, but they should be able to do better by a patient than that. Darn arrogant doctors! :w00t:

I read the quote and all about the origin of this amazing thread. I know I have said this before, but if not for Texas Tumbleweed, I probably would still be smoking. I followed a link that took me to this thread and two weeks later I began vaping. I haven't looked back. I am learning and enjoying it here immensely! I will certainly make a point of remaining on topic. I'm overjoyed at being here. It really is a miracle.
I think Yiddle was reminding us to keep it vape related here and take the non vape stuff to the back porch. She just did it politely. I'm not polite...REMEMBER THE FRICKING RULES!!! (of which I am a major violator!)

Flavors will not be a problem since home bakers need them. Just our sources for them will change. Instead of ordering flavors from vape shops we will be buying many of the same brands/flavors either direct from the source or from baking supply houses.

PG and VG from soap making supply houses.

The real hangups will be nic and hardware. Lay in a supply of nic now.

Hardware mechanical devices with changeable batteries and rebuildable toppers are the most sustainable. Hence I got my REOs. ;)

To those intimidated by rebuilding it really is not that complicated. If I can learn to do it pretty much anyone can. Mind you I am not into these crazy complex builds or sub ohming. A simple 1.2ish ohm micro coil on a simple device is good enough for me. For those that do not know that is a single coil with close spaced/touching wraps (I use a coiling device to make the coil for me) and then cotton stuffed through it. About as simple as it gets.

One of the reasons I am looking at the Sub Box kit is the topper that comes with it. The Sub tank Mini looks to be a dead simple setup to coil for non sub ohm vaping. Much easier on the stiff hands with the way the wires are captured.

Also big {{{{{EVERYONE}}}}} thanks for the welcome back

Actually the device in the sub box kit is a bonus its the topper I am really interested in. That sub tank mini looks to be dead simple to build on the included rebuildable deck. Basically I can do the same coil I have been making for years and attach it in a much simpler way than wrapping posts.

I am a huge Peanuts fan! I loved Charles M. Schultz. I grew up reading Charlie Brown books! All of those characters were his best friends! I became very good at drawing them all the time! I thought they were real! He never got to kick that football. sigh. How I miss Peanuts!!!

I watched Charles M. Schultz on American Experience and I was floored. I have never seen such a humble spirit who seemed genuinely SURPRISED that we loved his characters so much! He was just not prepared to hear how the entire country came to a complete halt to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas.
