The CASAA is not some protected class of vaping citizens. Every member has their own potential personality flaws, just like any other group of people ever collected on this planet since forever.

Honestly - I've only been turned off by the CASAA since my only experience it with so far has been the people that stomp all over threads calling other people idiots. I figured we should all be on the same general team. Silly - I know.

I'm curious as to what specifically led you to that conclusion?

Every post I've seen from CASAA representatives has been polite and well-worded.

Rut roh. If Eddard or MacTech or just about anybody reads what you said about sweet, intelligent Cassa members like Kristen, Elaine, Carl, Julie, and the rest of us, ... Well, let's just say, I hope they count to ten first.
(you are way off base buster)

I think it's a good reminder that if you do have a banner, you are representing the face of CASAA.

(not in this thread specifically, but a general reminder to all)

I don't recall casting an umbrella judgment on casaa. Instead, I shared my impression of some of its members based on what I have read from them...and indicated that this may not be a good representation. Conversation is difficult when people unnecessarily infer when the words are capable of speaking for themselves.

But sure - my bad. I'm outnumbered. I should have lurked longer to properly grasp the politics of the place before I opened my pie hole.

No they are not a protected class. I am a member, but that does not make me special or make my point of view any more valid than yours.

If you have experienced this with it has been as you describe, I am sorry to hear that. I know lots of really good people in CASAA, and I don't know anyone who would act like that. Maybe the poster had a bad day, or maybe the member was upset at something if they called you or someone else an idiot. I don't fly the CASAA banner because here in ECF, I represent Edd. I am a member, not a leader of CASAA.

If you have specific instances where you have seen this (I assume you have no reason to make that up), you should find Kristin, who is a leader with CASAA and let her know how that made you feel about this organization.

I don't know you well. I have seen you around and my impression of you is that you are a fairly honest person reacting to what you have seen. But I think your characterization of CASAA is unfair, so I ask you this:

Think about it, and consider, is it just one or two instances you recollect and are unfairly painting the whole group with a broad brush?

CASAA has defended every vaper's right to vape freely who lives in the US. Were it not for their tireless efforts, the vaping landscape would be quite different. If you have no desire to contribute, don't. This organization is not for everyone. I think the comments that have been made on several posts on this thread about CASAA are way out of line and patently unfair. But it is not my place to silence or degrade those who disagree with me, only to defend the honor of this noble group who serve even those who criticize them.

Kristin isn't a moderator here. If people have an issue with something on the forum, they need to report it to us, the ECF moderators.

You have been here, what, less than a month, yet you are implying that CASAA members call people idiots. I haven't seen that in 4 years from any CASAA member and rarely from any ECF member. The ECF mods are quite good at keeping that in check. I would like to see even one example where someone called another member an idiot.

There are plenty of examples of one member challenging another's reasoning or lack thereof, but rarely calling them names. But hey, it's the internet, so you can "make up" anything you like without any support for the statement.

Ok - color me confused. I was clearly referring to you.

"When you use examples that are in the extreme and that only idiots would find compelling"
