In NY they keep trying to legalize it, but it got killed off when time ran out to pass as everyone was arguing over who gets the tax proceeds. There is medicinal use, but you need to get a license from NY State, then only register to get it in one medicinal pot store of your choice. No way that’s for a “pharmacy “ delivery service.

They’re trying to pass it again this year, but it looks like these guys didn’t want to wait.
gah..living in Ca is amazing. You can call and have it delivered like a pizza. I am for it. Greatest pain reliever there is. Not to mention good solid sleep.

It's murdered out mayhem in the secret vape lair deep in the piping hot magma surrounded bowels of Mount Tralsuvius.

I got approved for medical here last year. I had to chuckle when the tech tried to explain how to use a vape pen to me during my first visit. I was like, I'm good :D Medical grade was ridiculously strong for me and I really don't like weed in general, so I let my certification lapse. Interesting experience, though.

The stuff today is nothing like it was back in the 70s in college. You could buy a big Baggie of it for $20. Today it’s all designer boutique pot that has really high amount of THC that one hit would you on the floor. Or at least it would me. Never cared for it back then, not sure how it would work today.

Given I’m not allowed to take stuff like Motrin or other non-steroidals, I’m left with opioids which I don’t care for so end up using it as little as possible. Just has too many side effects for me, but I’d rather be able to get out of bed and function than take a pass on them. It could be worse, at least they sorta work at a lower dose. Getting it down to a roar is all I’m looking for. Pain free would be great, but I know it’s not going to come with meds.

That sucks Fred. Will keep an eye out for that on mine
It works so far but its early days. Will keep an eye and report back in a few days.
I chucked the Ni 80 coil and did a simple round SS 28G 0.6ohm. Running it at 20W. I don't see much condensation so far. Ah and I replaced the tip with a bigger bore one. Glad its a 510.

That's exactly what I said - if my state legalizes medical, I'll try it - so I did. I'm in the same boat for pain management in that opioids are the only thing that works. They're effective to the point where the therapeutic value outweighs any potential side effects. I've been on high doses for extended periods and have always been able to taper off without much discomfort.

Weed however, still gives me this perceived tightness in my chest which can become pretty uncomfortable. I'm sure if I kept using it, the side effects would eventually calm down but I just don't like being stoned like I used to years ago.
Have you tried the edibles? I get a different feeling with them. I know about the tight chest. Sometimes I feel like I cannot breath. Not with edibles.

I smoked a fair bit in the 80s. One day I realized I wasn't getting anything done so I quit. When I had a couple of rips from a friend's pipe in the 2000's, I entered into a deep, codependent relationship with his couch for the rest of the evening. If it gave me any pain relief, it was because I was so in my head that I simply didn't notice.

The medicinal pens I picked up had three color coded stickers on the carts indicating diferent levels of THC. The red one, being the highest THC, was naturally the one I tried first. I'll just say that the science involved with extraction has certainly been perfected now. One vape and I was down for the count. If I enjoyed the experience, that certification would have been a goldmine. My friends who still enjoy weed were quite jealous of the access I had to it. For me, it's better as a recreational thing. Nothing beats oxycodone for pain management in my experience.

I had access to gummies and tinctures along with the vape pens but I never got far enough into it to try them. One prohibitive factor was cost. None of it was covered by insurance and anything with higher CBD was super expensive. Like $300 for the high CBD carts as opposed to $40-80 for the higher THC products. If I ever readdress it or if it gets legalized for recreational, I'll try some more edibles to see how they work.

That's where the CBD strain comes into play. Very low THC content and works fantastic for pain relief:)

I thought it was just me, with that *can’t breathe* feeling. I almost forgot about it, it’s been over 30 years.
