I always admired my buddies, and many others like yourself, who did all sorts of cool stuff with their cars. I was, and still am, all left thumbs with anything beyond the basics of auto maintenance.yup there was also a 389 and 421 but not for our cars, just 400 and 455 those years.could get 10 miles to a gallon, If I was real easy on it after I put a Holley 750 dual line double pumper.do know those cars back and forth like Letitia know flavors or Ange knows math or you know dogs.![]()
Morning HTR.Whats so good about it??
Lol
Mornin
Another one for the list...
My first car was a 1966 Chevelle, raised up with air jacks, big wheels and surfboard racks on top. I was 16-17. I blew the engine going to see my boyfriend at the beach and not heeding to the 'engine hot' light. (blew a freeze plug and I kept driving) HA. My dad had to come tow me home. He was not happy. I learned about maintaining a car after thatFWIW the time of muscle cars here ended in about the mid 1970’s.
Everything that came after is, IMO meh at best.
In 1978 I bought a used 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix (400 V8) very similar to this one. It seriously hauled azz.

All U.S. steel, no plastic parts like what you see with today’s cars. And it didn’t take a litre of gas to start.![]()
Thanks for all the info folks. I shall soon be a master coil builder, and you will all say "we knew him when he was just starting out."

I agree about the Mixx and hear you about the materials but I love the form and design - it would be the closest I'd ever get to a Saudade.I would buy one if they would have CNC'ed it out of aluminum and SS like they did with the Mixx versus zinc alloy and painted finish. For me personally, they set the bar high with the Mixx.
