When I started to use the Diver, I was forced to perfect my NR/R marriages, as the smaller ceramic cup devices do not allow much room for large wire marriages.

It all comes with practice. If an old trifocal wearing personal, such as myself, can do it . . . Anyone can.

Heh...I've practiced...but no matter how tight I think I get that square knot it always comes loose when making my coils. I'm going to try rojo's method with the Diver to see if it fits well...but with the Term I'm using the knot I posted earlier in the thread and it works so great.

If my method doesn't work well with the diver, the step where I wrap the nr wire around the twist and folded-back ends could be optional. Folding the ends back over the twist makes the join pretty solid, and the extra nr wire wrapping is mostly for my own ocd.

One of these days I'd like to give the Diver a shot. I think my fingers are probably too fat for it though.

@rojo, I've used your techniques my last 2 term builds. I have a couple of Killer clones (also named Terminator because the China marketing department ran out of names for atomizers) and your technique is great. Only a few wraps are needed, and while the diameter of the joint is larger, the length is much shorter. I do 3 twists, fold back ends, and a double wrap for a joint that easily fits in the tiny ceramic cup of the Killer clone. You've cut my NR/R/NR wire building time in half.

I keep probably 75% of them for a rainy day but have only ever re-used a couple of them.

The best knot, is the one, which you can assemble the best.

I just had a "first". I disassembled my Terminator v3 clone (Ithaka) to dry burn my coils, washed it out, dried it, put it into the base to dry burn it and reassembled without dry burning, DUH
I guess I'll try again after this tank. I have switched my juice to one that "burns" cleaner, I've dry burned these coils at least 4 times so far and they are more than a week old. I never had them in that long before.

Thanks, now to find a local hardware store that actually stocks metric o-rings. My last visit to the o-ring "section" at home depot left me severely disappointed.

Try to find them on the web in Europe. I had an address, found undr silicon parts, or joints, I think, while googling. If you're still hunting I'll try to find it in my BADLY organised bookmarks (collected thousands over the years, with Xmarks :( ). But there are quite a few addreses in EU for that, joints, mostly, not so much o-rings, as in the US. Good luck, and PM me if you don't have the luck necessary ;)

i have a question, can I join nr + r wire using Soldering Iron ?

Maybe I'm just really bad at it but I have not had good luck soldering these joins, using silver solder and it just rolls off the Kanthal. I've tried wrapping the joins a dozen times and none have come out as good as the first one I did. I'm holding out hope for my mini spot welder, I'm off work so I'm gonna have another go at wiring it up today.

I just managed a "Diver knot", (actually a reef knot), with silver & 36ga.. I have no idea why I forgot that simple knot, but it does indeed work with NR/R.

I was really planning to use a knot I used when fishing, but this is so much simpler and smaller, I am sold.

I have been using the reef/square knot since I saw the Atmistique Diver video. Since then, I have been using the said for all of my NR-R-NR wire assemblies.

It really does not get any simpler than this particular knot. With pre-torched 32g wire and thinner, it's a definite winner, for myself.
