Bingo I think that was it - the connection was on the corners and pushing out the wick.

I got 1,000 1mm jewelry connectors - I didn't torch them or anything - I simply put the two wires together and squeezed with needle nose - perfect and easiest thing I've done with this device

Be careful with that stuff. Read all the labels and look for California warnings or not for children under 15. If you see that, the metal has lead in it.

Your coil gets hot enough and you'll be vaping those beads.

My zapper shipped. Soon I'll be making neat coils with ribbon wire. :D

*Don't expect much. I'm on Tapatalk.*

Is there a trick to wrapping coils on rope wick with ribbon? I tried with .5 ribbon but it was too "springy" and left gaps off of the wick. I've got it mastered on ceramics, and its a great vape.

I found that with a welder it was easier to wrap the res wire on the wick then weld it, but that was with 28ga

Here's the one I've been following:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...095-resistance-no-resistance-wire-welder.html

Staying somewhat on topic: When dry burning my Terms/Ithakas I found that holding the unit *behind* a fan with the wick facing the blades keeps the ceramic much cleaner than all other ways I've tried.

Saw that and decided to buy the pre-built one from the UK. I ended up paying twice the cost of the materials it would take to build it, but I don't have to outsource or deal with capacitors, resistors and soldering. Should be here any day.

Man, my Terminator C has just 'come alive' all of a sudden. It's been a good vape since I got it a month ago, but today, it just started vaping like a beast. I have no idea why... I did clean it two nights ago, dry burn, but immediately afterwards, it was it's usual self. But since mid-day today, for some reason, it's kicking out super thick vapor clouds and just to-die-for flavor. I don't know if it's just me, but do you guys find that a hard, firm pull works better with the Term than a soft, gentle one... ala Cisco 357 style? Maybe that's why this thing is kicking today, as I only started contemplating this yesterday.

Just ordered the V2 ceramic cup assembly from Stormy's. As if that's not enough, I ordered an MKB TS from Discountvapers ($30 cheaper) and the MKB adaper from Stormy's to thow the Term on while waiting for my Precise ELA. I'm spending like a man living out his last days. :)

Anybody know when Stormy'll have that MKB stealth cap back in stock?

Welcome to the MKB clique. I hope you are aware of the lengthy discussion going on regarding these devices on this thread:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/apv-discussion/401929-mkb-ts-mechanical-mod-ggts-clone.html

You are likely to benefit from some of the modding ideas there. Also we've worked out a bunch of measurements and thread pitches, etc. I've been modding mine and since the improvements its working for me basically as well as some Greek mods I have. They still beat the beauty contest tho.

In my experience e-mailing Stormy with my questions, she gets back w/in 24hrs. (usually faster). She only offered four units of the stealth cap clone initially due to them being factory samples (to check quality assurance). I don't know about plans to restock. Sorry.

Thank you, upsetter. I did follow some of that thread, but not nearly the whole thing... yet. I'll have to go back to it. Not being very skilled as a modder, my head began to explode after awhile with all you guys knowledgable back and forth. Around about the talk of the brass shim and stuff I got completely lost. :) If you don't mind, could you suggest 1 or 2 of the most basic mods I should look for in that thread that don't require too much skill? Regardless, I really should go back and dig into that thread.

Thanks for the recognition Vego. Truth is we never really illustrated the brass shim. I'll just post briefly here, since this thread is for the Oddy clones.

The first mod I would suggest is you least favorite! The brass shim. I've been meaning to post photos of what we did on that thread, so I'll get to that over the next few days. Fortunately it is the easy mod, since you basically need a pair of scissors and a pair of good eyeballs. We just snipped a little rectangle of brass sheet and rolled it into the body of the switch, closing the gap and smoothing out the slop. So the switch is a tube, and we just made another really thin tube inside to snug it.

In the meantime you may want to try sourcing the brass sheets. Most hobby and hardware stores have a K+S Engineering display, so I'd check my local shops. Frankly, the MKB-TS (first edition) switch is really sloppy until this fix is performed. If you totally strike out, I can probably dig up the extra I had left and mail you a bit.

So when you get your new mod, come on over & we'll start answering your questions, or do whatever we can to help you get that bad boy tuned up.

That all sounds great, upsetter. You just about read my mind with the mention of some shim-switch mod pics. I was going to request that tonight on the mkb thread. If you can - and at your leisure - post a pic or two on the mkb thread. That would be so helpful.

Just got my shipping notice... Wooot! :)

Okay, back to the oddy & clones discussion. Sorry folks for the sidetrack.

Where can I get a good one of these? I see so many around and under so many different names; I’m not sure where to start. I've heard some are really good quality and some are not.

Can someone shoot me in the right direction for where to pick up the best Odysseus clone made?

Thanks guys (might have been mentioned in this thread, but I didn’t have time to read the whole thing... sorry)
