Yeah mine does that too with the air bubble. However it isn't causing me any problems even with the juice control open 24/7

Same here. I did get flooding when I had the ground wire pinched between the rings, but now that I don't the leaking has stopped, although the bubble is still there.

The small gap created by the wire under the ring creates more of a problem with cocking the rebuild-able part in the base with throws the mouth piece off center in the tank top which then cause the o-ring to let air in.
I'm thinking about taking that top edge of the tank top down a little in the same manner that is being used on the AGA-T to get the air hole to line up with the wick. Fine sand paper on a flat surface and a little elbow grease, I would like to be able to compress that o-ring more as it starts to wear.

What are those problems you speak of ......just curious cause I have a clone on the way

If you search for "Ody problem" or "Odsseus problems" you'll find plenty :)
But to save frustration, I suggest you read the thread relating to the exact clone you're getting. I have the Terminator and Term-C, but as you know there are a lot of different clones out there. So far the Term seems to be the closest I've found to the Ody. Not that I'm any consultant on the matter :)

@dwcraig1: I had that o-ring issue for the first time last night after a rebuild. I found one tiny hemp thread keeping the o-ring at the top from sealing. These units have to be cared for; you gotta keep 'em squeeky clean :)

@LucidAce: I've noticed that bubble. Sometimes I catch myself trying to see how small I can make that bubble. I've not experienced any pressure issues you mentioned.

Navy_Lifeguard's method of wrapping the negative NR has given me too many problems, so I've reverted back to just wrapping the wire all the way around the unit (sandwiched between the base and the large ring/nut acting as a "washer"). It's a bit of work to get it just right, but my "dancing ohms" are history, and the unit is centering properly. Just sayin'.

I have to fight off the cat hairs

I did the other method of attaching the negative wire tonight, where you wrap it almost the whole way around under the locking ring. Much easier than trying to wrap it around the wick and worked just fine so far.

Nothing I like more than hearing the Term sound like a new tanked DC carto

@ LucidAce, aren't you the one that was having a problem with the "top cap" not fitting properly into the "tank top"?
Every time I get a flooding problem and it's not simply the liquid control being open too far, I always find that o-ring on the mouth piece is the culprit, I can't say if it wrinkles or dust or dried juice ect, but I disassemble that part ,clean and lube it and I am good till next time.
I'm having only an occasional problem with that and it generally occurs when screwing the mouth piece towards the closed direction, I can fell the drag from the dry fit.
I would have commented sooner but in the process I discovered the thread for the Oddy clone coop and got glued there for 45 pages. I didn't know it was even there.

Yeah, that was me. I became convinced that what I thought was a problem was not in fact a problem. Do you use vaseline on that o-ring so that it stays lubricated vs using VG or e-liquid which is more likely to migrate or set up?

I always use Vaseline on the very bottom o ring before inserting in the base. It will bind up every time w/o. Then you will always be tightening the center post

If I am at home I use Vaseline otherwise juice

Thanks guys. It's just about time for a refill so I'll clean it up and use some vaseline rather than juice on that o-ring this time and hopefully see better results. :toast:

Something I'm thinking about here. The video for the Tobeco clone shows the guy placing a silicone gasket between the mouth piece and the locking ring. I think that it probably goes under the locking ring instead because what possible function could it have there. I will try this on my Terminator, looks like an easy solution for the ground wire problem

Oh yeah! This is the reason I love ECF. Great conclusion dwcraig! I'll be looking for one tomorrow. Much easier than my SS washer with a slot for wire idea. I think I'll pay my local plumber's supply a visit tomorrow :)
I believe that I have located mine in the "bone yard" on one of those double barrel clearomizers that cracked on the first tank.
