Most toppers are 510. The Evod2 you have, and the T3S, are eGo threaded, fastening to the outer threads of your battery. 510 threads are the inside (and smaller) threads.

You don't need one with your current toppers, but if you get something 510 threaded, it IS advised. Both to improve the looks and for greater stability. You put the beauty ring on, then the topper, and then gently snug the beauty ring up to the bottom of the topper.

I also use them as a quasi airflow controller for some of my tanks that have airflow coming through the 510 connector

See, that's why I get confused. Some say it's not nessesairy at all, some say it's needed and some says that it's advised.

Evod 2:

Protank 2 (ONE example of 510 threading on a topper):

Since it threads down into the battery, there's a big gap between the battery and the bottom of the topper. The beauty ring fills that space and, if run up to the topper, adds some mechanical strength. The 510 connection isn't the strongest one around, but it is (unfortunately) the most common.

The beauty ring is not "required", but it's usually a pretty smart move :)

Yes, IF the topper is 510 threaded. Your Evod 2 Glass is not, it is ego threaded - and those go on the outer threads of your battery, so there is no place to put the ring. (Unless in Norway you have a different version of the Evod 2...)

Basically, on the battery, the ego threads are the large external threads. If you topper goes there, no ring.

Again, on the battery, if you look into the connection area, you'll see internal threads. Those are 510. If your topper goes there, a ring is a good idea. :)

Kayfuns just too darn complicated fer me.
I love my new Kayfun Lite v2 clone. Other than building the coil and wicking. No more complicated than my nautilus mini's, and better flavor. Perfect for my tootle puffing style.

Hmm. Still struggling a bit this late evening with understanding.. I got the evod 2 glass btw, which is a little longer on the bottom. But if I got it correctly, a beauty ring makes the device itself more solid, and not as wiggle waggle as it is without?

How big is the gap. Is it 1 mm or 10mm. If it is 1 mm then that is fine

I'm not buy'n it.. No Sir, not fer one minute

Yep. Much easier to wind the same coil, stuff it's legs through a small hole, cram in the insulating grommet and then the pin.... than it is to trap the legs under the screws and... done!

I'm a grab and go guy, that's why I use nautilus mini's vaping unflavored and nets, no hassle other than gurgling in hot weather. and the 1.6 ohm stock vertical cotton coils give decent flavor. But for dessert juice I use my KFL+ nano style short tank section and the flavor is amazing. If It were a hassle I wouldn't do it. My first coil build was easy and no leaks. Easy peasy. Now that KF V4..I saw all those parts and went "um..no."

Yep, eGo threaded topper. No ring needed, and no place to put it with that topper.

The battery can take both that thread and 510 threaded toppers, which would screw down INside the top of the battery, leaving room for the (optional but recommended) beauty ring :)
