Question to the toots, how come I have never seen anyone using a Subtank Mini with the 1.5ohm coils, great for tootling, great price, 4ml of juice, coils last ages and it has a rba deck.. Strange

At the moment, that's what I'm using some of the time having got myself a subox mini, and I find I can tootle very well with it Like @juskiddin I still haven't ventured into the world of coil building/wicking (and that's after nearly 2 years vaping) but I'm going to have to give it a go - or get my husband to do it as he's much more of a perfectionist than I am

By the way, I'm still debating whether to blow some of my recent little windfall on a Kabuki ..........

Well can you believe it, my next door neighbour and her sit on lawn mower just came smashing through my gates and almost took me out while feeding the fish, that could of been messy. Shes not only backed into her own garage in her car, shes now crashed through my side gates, someone please give this woman a bicycle and a push along mower. Why do these things keep happening to me, I put down the paint roller, feed the fish and almost loose my feet and ankles..... I need a vape.

I have a STM. The stock coils are a bit noisy in an already loud tank. I prefer the rba section with a 1,5 ohm 28 gauge/0.32mm, 2.4mm ID, 8wrap.

Don't care for any of the stock coils, but the rba deck works fine. Just a bit of initial work to get the air flow where I like it. (Haven't tried PT heads in them, yet...)

But, imo, not quite as good as my KFs.

I have a stumper. Maybe y'all can help me figger it out. I Put a fresh coil in 2 KF's last night. Same coil. 28G KA1, 2mm, 8 wraps. Usually ohms out at about 1.6. My KFL reads at 1.4 ohms and my Nano reads at 1.0. I went back and double checked to make sure I didn't leave off a wrap somewhere. The coils are identical. Also rebuilt my orchid with 2 of the same coils. It reads .64, so it's right in line with the KFL, but still low by about 1/4 of an ohm. I usually get a .1 or .2 variation, but I've never seen one of my coil builds be off by half an ohm before. Any thoughts?

Same leg length?

Did you inadvertently cross a turn or two while wicking?

Is part of the coil touching the chamber on the Nano? Maybe the tag end is a tad too long? If it reads "right" before final assembly, I'd look closely there.

Very strange, Steam engine shows 8 wraps of 28g on 2mm measuring just under 1.3 ohms, I don't know how you get 1.6 with 8 wraps unless you wrapped them on a 2.5mm mandrel before.

Yep. Nope and nope. I've been building those 2 tanks for almost a year now. Never off the 1.6 ohm mark by more than .2 ohms either direction. Usually only vary by <.05. I hit them with a DMM before I put the chimneys on. Then put them on the mod and it reads the same after fully assembled.
My coiling jig of preference for KF's is actually a q-tip stick with the cotton tips clipped off. It's just a hair over 2 mm, but still less than 2.5 mm. I have a coiling tool, but it seems to get in the way when I go to wrap the wires around the screws. And it's partly habit. I didn't have the tool when I first got the tank, so I just tend to do it the same way I always did.

And I've found steam engine is usually off a lil bit from what I get. It almost always lists about .2 ohms lower that what I actually get, no matter what tank or wire gauge.
