Have you done the latest firmware upgrade on your Evic VTC Mini? It adds Stainless Steel.
And changes the display a bit.
It is also up to 75 watts. Maybe the first firmware upgrade did that though.

It would seem that todays entry - mid level TC mods are actually pretty much plug and play.

The Cloupor Mini+ I got, all you have to do was to screw on the atty, power it up, Set either TI or NI ,It auto sets resistance and off you go.

Takes less than 10 minutes to read the manual and maybe another 5 to be all set.

Way more research and time needed to set up a "Simple Mech"

Congrats on switching to vape and joining us here on ECF.

I'm a little confused as to why you need TC at this point, but since I don't use it or have any affinity to it, the others will most likely chime in to help you out in that area.

As far as your needs for "having resistance when I hit my vapor, I didnt say that right but I like feeling like I'm sucking the vapor like a cigarette - not free flow with lots of air", it sounds to me like a CARTO tank would suit you quite well.
I'd recommend giving them a whirl.

Even if they are just in addition to the TC mods you want to try.

Because one of the things I need is a warm vapor - I tried my nautilus and it has cool vapor - I dont like that - it feels like smoking air to me

well I think if you get ANY TC (temp control) it is gonna have a big AIRY draw (not tight draw)

best bet IMO

I’d suggest get this set up, and be sure to order the Joyetech CLR coils in 1.0Ω ohm
along with it – the kit comes with two coils (TC) Ti & Ni and they have BIG center air holes...
the 1.0Ω CLR coil is a small center hole, more like your asking for

the VTC mini will do it ALL for you, (TC & VW) paired with the ego one Mega tank

The only devices that I currently use that have TC is a custom DNA40 mod & the SnowWolf200. I can say that TC is not the easiest thing in the world to master. I'm cig free for 38 months and I've had these TC mods for a few months and it gets frustrating sometimes.I'm getting better at it, but then again I'm mentally challenged! It's not the type of vape that you just screw on an atty and vape. As a new vaper I would suggest that maybe you get your feet wet a little with the more standard devices just to make sure. I would hate to see you get frustrated and go back to cigs. Just my .

My experience with TC was that at the beginning was learning to set the temp the right way to get the vape that I enjoy. Again I have not used any of the new devices that Eric mentioned. Also when I was just learning TC it was more building coils then it was having coils that were made for tanks. It did become much easier when Kanger and the rest came out with nickel coils so I was able to use that to learn to build my own coils for TC use. I now build nickel,Titanium, Twisted, Clapton, Braided, Fused for TC. All I was trying to explain is that for me it was a little frustrating at first and I just wanted to share my experience. The main thing is that you don't go back to cigs. That's why we're Vapers!!

I understand. I'm guessing we all understand (at least for the majority of us who smoked and smoked and smoked).

I know it's not a popular suggestion, but I really do think that trying out a carto tank might be an option for you... a starting place, if you will. It's normally a warmer and much tighter (more cig type) draw. Find a cute little FastTech tank, and if you need cartos, Conversate me.

Yes, there is ONE CLR factory coil (CLR Ti.5Ω)
it is rebuildable and has the BIG air hole

what you’re gonna need to do is get the CLR coils (small hole)
and rebuild them with Ti/Ni wire
or modify the CLR Ti coil by
switching out the bottom pin from big hole to small hole pin

I think what you’re asking for (tight & warm)
you’ll get with the CLR 1.0Ω coils

like I said, all the Temp Control units are gonna have a BIG OPEN Air Draw
(can't think of any that is not)

H - CLR .5 k /1.0 k/.5 Ti
V - CL .5 k/1.0 k /.2 Ni/.4 Ti

All a tank does is hold liquid. What gives you warmth is your coil and power supplied. There are other factors as well. When Kat says carto she's talking about the atty(coil). It's a old school atty that is still used by many of us today

A carto-tank is a tank that you put a cartomizer in. It's a very old (in the vape world) design that works well.

Warm vapor is a combination of wattage and airflow. With less airflow you need less heat (watts) to get warm vapor. It sounds like the tank you have has too much airflow for the heat you are applying. A more restrictive airflow tank will feel warmer.

I dont want to switch out heads, theres no way I am rebuilding anything!! I dont even know what you mean by taking the big pin out and replacing it with a small pin.

I am feeling overwhelmed and a bit out of my element. I want this to work, but at the moment - I dont feel I am able to do it. I dont like my cigalike anymore - I dont want to go back to smoking, but what you are saying doesnt make sence and i think that my only choice is to try to make the cigalike work and hope it doesnt bother me so much I go back to smoking cause it has the coils at the top and really warms the vapor up

There is nothing wrong asking for advice. Sometimes, and I did it as well, you get excited about doing something new and you try to flood your brain with everything about it. My best advice is to go slow, enjoy vaping, stay off cigs, and enjoy what will be as we all call it your "Vaping Journey"!
