Where did you get them?

Checked my old invoices and I got them at My Vapor Store. They have them in stock. $10. They trip, then reactivate in a few minutes after they cool down. I've seen them discussed on ECF and people said they do the job. They do suck up a little voltage so purists who want zero voltage drop in the mod might disapprove. For me at 1.2 ohms they wouldn't have any effect at all. They list a few mods they have been specifically tested with but they should work in any 18650 mod where the battery isn't too tight for the small extra length of the fuse. They are really thin like a washer.

ShortStop by Holocron Labs

Googled vape fuse and there seemed to be a few other types. Didn't look at any of them though.

The description of the shortstop says they trigger at approximately 5 amps, so build/coils above 0.85 ohms are required. There is also the atmizoo bug --- a 7 amp fuse (builds above 0.6 ohms), but it is a little thicker (about 5mm thick).

Thanks. I’m going to research more on them. Interesting idea.

This seems like a good idea along with a few more mechs, honestly.

Lets face it we all know what I do to Nice Things, which includes regulated mods. I've only had one die so far, and one is awaiting rehab (like, it needs a top screw.)

However, I also need to not assume ANY of my regulated mods will last forever. I have a protected mech or two (but again, well, circuitry) another very fancy tube mod an a Noisy Cricket which kind of scares me to look at it.

Some mechs and fuses would probably not go amiss...

    Somewhere between here and there
I’m not very concerned about stocking up on mechs. Back in the day I used to make my own out of flashlights and battery boxes. If your regulated mods go bad , save them for parts like 510 connectors and you can easily get parts to make your own.

I'm going through my vacopalypse closet and I don't need anything much. LOL I will probably PIF some stuff, like oh, subohm tanks I won as part of a setup, But not now. I need a trip to the PO like a hole in the head. That can happen AFTER the move.

I am fairly certain the husband can make me a mod if I whine enough, and if I'm out of vapes I will be WHINING HEAVILY. I do not believe I will be able to pick up my box-- all that metal adds up.

I'm also a lunatic. Like, both my Ares died but I was like... There is a glass tube and bits in there! Perhaps someone who ADORES the Ares would want one. I can only think of Scott P's wife, but I'm sure the strange animals exist.

Yep, I REALLY suck at this. Also, there were things I had to wash before I could EVEN decide if they were trash. Ahem. From early in my vaping career I do a bit better with that now.

Also, I discovered two unused Tron-S tanks and I was all "Oh, eh, maybe I could use a titanium coil and try replay easy! Only me and Joytech don't get along, the tanks would probably KILL my Mirage, which is SO PRETTY and also I need to not be lazy and BUILD. Heh. They're still in my suitcase with all kinds of fancy coils I discovered plus like a bunch of stuff.

    I am bad at this.

I found a YT video of a guy testing these mosfets to see if reverse battery worked as advertised. Most of the ones the tested did not work as advertised (see below). Another consideration is whether there will be enough room in the tube when the battery is installed. If all of that is resolved is it possible to get replacement boards for a reasonable price. The Cthulu replacement boards are $5. That's an inexpensive way to stockpile the most perishable part of a mod.

The board made for the mod was designed in a way that makes it too easy to damage beyond repair. The problem is hard to describe but easy to show, as in this video made for the purpose by a youtube reviewer. I've decided to own one or two tube mods as last ditch backups to my regulated mods, but only if they have a protection board and I can get spare boards, which is provided for the Cthulu tube mod, probably because of the design flaw.

I can’t watch the video because Himself is snoring away beside me . Is this after the mosfest (sic) redesign? I know people have bought extras with the mod

Here is something we probably don't need to stockpile but is useful. Fastech sells many dozens of different empty dropper bottles for eliquid at reasonable prices. There are PE or PET versions. Buy the ones made of PE. It's a more flexible plastic. The PET bottles are a clear brittle plastic that a commercial mixer might buy because they are a bit less expensive and show off the color of the liquid better. An unusual dripper bottle I got from FT has square sides. I like that one for home because if it tips over it doesn't roll.
The first link shows all the PE dripper bottles. The second link is to one of my favorites.

I can't believe it never occurred to me to put PE in the search! Thank you!

I used to drip exclusively, and I hated those stupid brittle clear bottles. You couldn't drip one drop at a time. It was more of a squirt.

Square bottles? What a great idea!

Triangular PE bottles with skinny tips are the winner for me. They are a proprietary design Mr E-liquid came out with for their 30ml and smaller sizes a few years ago. They are a bit softer on the large flat side so they are easy to squeeze and the flattened triangle shape slips in a pocket perfectly. They are only used with their more basic house liquids, as they switched to glass for the "premium" lines.

Here's a picture of them from an old review:

As their Mr E's Menthol is one of the only premixes I will buy, I've stocked up a few of these beauties!

The PET bottles are manufactured for 1-time use only anyway...not OK for repeated use like some other plastic bottles. PET and PETE are not leech proof, (like the PP, LDPE, and HDPE ones are), as far as chemicals used to make the plastic.

My perception is FT's PE bottles are the same low density polyethelyne as milk jugs. My monthly storage for DIY mixed liquid and for dripping bottles is PE. Long term storage bottles are glass. PG and VG come in gallon jugs that looks the same as milk jugs. Regardless the huge selection of dripper bottles is one of the hidden gems on FT. I favor FT for most purchases because of thier staggering selection of the dollar items that are handy for vaping.

I used plastic but ditched after tasting platisizer in a juice that sat for 6 weeks. It's glass only for me. Might be a situation where plastic is only choice but choose glass otherwise. Glass bottles are really fairly tough, hard to break, and should last for years. Meanwhile, detectable levels of plastic everywhere in our environment — including the human body — should be a wake-up call.

I assume you mean that you're using glass dropper bottles. The problem I found with those is that I find the juice takes on the odor of the rubber used in the dropper cap.

Here I primarily use FT's needle-dropper bottles - PE, I think. I wish Fasttech still sold the ones with ml-markings though.. They come in real handy when I use Juice Calc's "Modiify Existing Recipe" to alter an ongoing experimental mix.

There is a seller on eBay that sells those, and they ship from China. The bottles have markings every 5mL, up to 50mL, and they're super easy to squeeze to dispense the eliquid. @Mowgli posted about those probably 2 or more years ago. According to him, he likes them so much that he has hundreds of them in his stash. The seller sells 6 different sizes, but I ordered the 50mL ones because those seem to be the only ones with the markings on them. They actually hold more than 50mL though (approx. 67-68mL IIRC). The markings just go up to 50mL. Here's a link to them.

Did you order the small ones such as the 20-30 mls? I’d love to buy smaller than 50mls but with the markings. I can always use the larger 50s but prefer the 20 or 30 mls.

Nope...I only ordered the 50mL, because they were the only ones that appeared to be marked. (They're the size shown in the pic.) I might have asked the seller a question about that, but...it's been a couple years ago that I bought them, and I don't remember for sure if I did or not. You could always ask though, if you'd prefer the 20mL or 30mL ones.
