T for Texas!
@rifky - I just bottom fill all my Berserkers, full size and minis, all the time. You have to completely remove a part anyway, to refill either way. Never have any gurgling nor leaking with BF, and it lets me check out my coil and wick each time I refill.
+1

@ToolmanTexas - I bought the same mod, but in the turquoise color, and am using a Zerker Mini on it! But, you must've edited out your buttons, charge port, and LED screen on your pic. :)
Nah, just the way I'm holding it at an angle.. does look like it though!

I now have 3 of these, 2 during GB flash sale for $20 and one from FT during CNY for about $25.

What's the best wire gage to use for trapping the wire. I just ordered the mini, but the thickest wire I have is 29g, but use 30g in all my RTA's.

I've been using 2 different ohm prewound coils from FT in mine (they're dirt cheap and easier for me), and they look to be 29 and/or 30ga. No problem at all trapping the leads, especially since there's a little notch on the posts to sort of help you keep the lead in place while tightening the screw. The deck on both sizes is the easiest 1 I've ever installed and wicked coils on!

the screws trap 30g just fine. That's what I use. I wrap the wire 180º around the screw.

And coincidentally, I also got my mini today.
So, I did build it (2.5mm 28g getting 1.1Ω.)
I suppose I should have studied the tips I've saved about filling and flipping etc. But, I couldn't completely understand those notes.
I did have issues with gurgling/flooding today.
I was also anxious to try out a juice which I've never tried before. Because of this I'm not sure how to compare flavor to my usual set up, other than to say the flavor was terrific. The juice or the berserker?
Now to go back to my notes and try to figure out the filling process to avoid the gurgling/flooding. Thoughts?

And BTW, the juice was Real Tobacco Extracts Cowboy Coffee. Richly flavored and completely delicious.

Bottom fill is what I do but if want to top fill will have to go back thru the thread or the 24mm thread.

Just got mine wicked up. The build is 30g SS, 2.5 mm, 6 wrap = .99Ω
I top filled by closing the afc, filled, then installed the top cap about two turn on the threads, turned it upside down and tightened the top cap, opened the afc, and waited a few seconds then turned it right side up. So far no gurgling, or leaking, so will see how it goes from here.

Remove o-ring from the top cap,you don't need it.Close the afc, fill atomizer with liquid, close the top cap, turn atomizer upside down, open the afc, wait a few seconds. That's it.And try setup winh 28ga,2mm diameter,7 turns(1 ohm and 13w).Vape is fantastic with this setup.

I agree with @ToolmanTexas...bottom fill it. No gurgles, no leaks, no waiting for air pressure to adjust, etc. Works like a charm every time and is quicker, too!

I need to experiment with the wicking I guess. So far, compared to my Doggy, the flavor, and vapor production, it's just not there yet. It is at this time a dry vape, with no real flavor.
I built the same coil as I had in my Doggy, 2.5mm, and it's comparable in Ω's as was in the Doggy. .99Ω, I have it set to 390F @20 watts, and it hits the 390F every firing, so I know it's not holding back.
When I wicked it, I was thinking that it was kinda loose in the coil, but went ahead anyway. So maybe a little more rayon. Also, I may have it pushed down a little too much against the bottom.
I'm wondering just how close you have to be to the bottom, and if its more important to have it against all side surfaces of the hole.

I'm using the Berserker Mini daily since early januari and love it. It's practically glued to my hand lol. I use it with the steel tank section, and on a Praxis tube mod (clone).
I had a few gurgles but fixed it. Key is to put enough wick in the wells to make it stick. Otherwise the liquid pushes the wick up and it leaks. I cut the wick in a "butterfly" form like you do with the old Aqua's. First put the tips of the wings in to fill the corners of the wells, then put the ticker upper parts of the wing in to close the well completely. Never had a gurgle again.

@oplholik - I've personally learned with rayon, that when I think I'm using too much to make the wick...it usually turns out to be just about the right amount. Once through the coil, I curve and push down on one end, going across the juice well and slightly down the outside of the well...just alittle less than the well is deep (if that makes sense to you). Then snip off the excess there. I do the same on the other end then. (That usually makes each end a pretty good length, with a decent shoulder, when it's finally put down in the juice well.) After cutting each end, a little fluffing and a tiny bit of trimming, and it's ready for each end to go into the wells.

I'm definitely no expert at it by any means! I've had my not-thick-enough duds several times, and every now and then some ends that I trimmed too short, or too much width-wise. But the above now seems to be working really well for me every time.

ETA: I don't know if this will make a difference for you, but in your coil pic above, it looks like your coil is pretty high above the airhole. Maybe try it a little lower, and see if that changes anything as far as the flavor you're getting from it?

Now that you mention it, I recall someone (maybe you?) saying to remove that o-ring. It did strike me as I was putting the top cap on that it was very snug. I'll give this a try.

I had to read this at least twice to visualize it. But, I get it now and it makes perfect sense.

And I think you're right about the coil height in the pics.

Thought the same... Try about 1mm to 1.5mm above airhole.
