The media only spews what's spoon fed to them. Investigative journalism died ages ago.
Not the whole story. I often see anti-vape news articles pretend to present opposing opinions, but giving short shrift to some unnamed "vape industry spokesperson". That is intent. And it is SOP in the media whenever vaping is the subject.

The media lost it's objectivity ages ago. It's been biased towards it's own social agenda for years now.
The point I'm trying to make is that there is a total lock down of any pro vape point of view in any of the popular media. That is too scary to contemplate. It is our worst enemy by a long stretch.

It's worse than that. They filter what they are spoon fed and massage it to meet their personal, social and political agendas. And often, they don't even do this. They simple wont cover the story if it is undeniably detrimental to their agenda. The examples are daily. And yes, journalism died many years ago. It sickens me to see people going to the voting booth who are totally, completely, and utterly ignorant and/or misinformed about the issues that affect their lives. I'd bet that more than half the people who vote are clueless and have no business voting other than it's their right to be a clueless voter.

I've maintained for years that JQ Public is too stupid to vote. But that's a discussion for a different thread and forum. ;)

Most likely the FDA bots. This has been reported in the past, and was even brought to the attention of Twitter. And Twitter, contrary to what their ToS states, does absolutely nothing about it.
Strong arm tactics aren't always on well lit, packed street corners.

Matter of fact, they usually aren't.

Good morning Girls and Boys :)

If the following has already been discussed please humor me. From where I sit and that's IMHO, I see a lot of discussion about the two year period starting on 8-8-16 where IDENTICAL vaping stuff can still be sold and of course compliance with the other terms of this calendar at FDA Deeming Regulation Compliance Calendar prepared by VTA (Vapor Technology Association)..pdf for a 2 year sell timeline. After a bit of research from available data I think the 2 year issue is far more complex and fraught with serious doses of danger. Let me explain:

12-31-16 - Register with the FDA. Includes Product Listings. Annually. Not yet available for ENDS but from medical device a ball park cost is 2K+

2/8/17 - Ingredient listings

Given the above two deadlines I asked myself, what if a given Tobacco Manufacterer decides not to comply with the above two dates. Maybe they have the money but see no need for submission since they have no desire or means to acquire a PMTA. Maybe they hate the FDA and plan to ignore these two dates. BUT still plan to comply with all of the other terms for a two year can sell period.

Here comes the FDA! Nothing yet posted on ENDS that I could find BUT the following applies to Medical Devices which is reasonable to expect for ENDS:

"(c) Failure to submit required information. Failure to submit any of the required information on time, as specified in paragraphs (a) and (b) of this section, will put the establishment in a "failed to register" or "failed to list" status as applicable. The establishment will not be considered active and the establishment registration and device listing information may not appear on the FDA Web site until such time as the owner or operator submits and FDA processes the required information." Source: CFR - Code of Federal Regulations Title 21

So exactly what is the regulatory enforcement action for "failed to register" or "failed to list" status:

"2.OTHER LEGAL SANCTIONS
If issuance of the *Warning* Letter does not achieve correction, one of the following legal actions should be recommended to *CVM,* Division of Compliance, HFV-236 within one week after the response period expires:

Seizure
When failure to register *and/or drug list* is the only actionable violation and a firm fails to comply with the *Warning* Letter, seizure of all products whose manufacture necessitates registration and/or in the non-registered firm's possession, is the recommended action. Applicable raw materials may be included to bring a small lot up to seizable size. Do not recommend seizure of lots otherwise believed to be in compliance in the possession of consignees. *An inventory* of the drugs manufactured, repacked, or relabeled should be submitted with the regulatory action request

Source: CPG Sec. 625.500 Failure to Register *and/or Drug List*

You're giving WAY too much credit, I'm afraid.

No less than 99%, I'd presume.

The most politically informed people I have ever met in person have never read a bill they're barking about. All regurgitating rhetoric and catch phrases you only learn by watching someone else's spin on what's going on on the boob tube.

Never once have I heard "in section b of article 127.73, it clearly states blah blah and references federal penal code 263.2 section 1, subsection b through d to do so... and THAT'S why I maintain that candidate X who pushed for that particular amendment to the bill is Y and has earned my vote".

Voting records are useless unless you read the bill.

Because as we see here... voting AGAINST "saving the children" from flavor is the righteous way to proceed...

Therefore voting records are a farce behind a shroud of untruths that could only HOPE to one day be half truths and washed of their sinful cloak.

The only ones will be closed systems. At this point if nothing is done regarding the over reach the fda plans, I pretty much guarantee it.
Can you imagine the vape industry as a whole submitting billions of dollars worth of paperwork hoping the FDA, which usually takes years to consider applications will allow them to stay in business then not getting approved?

In my part of the world we call that a confidence game STING.
If the FDA "Deeming" isn't recognized as unconstitutional overreach
I think liquid nicotine may become the next controlled substance
available only by prescription.

Oz price: 1pkt of Marlboro Red is $23.50 with another 60% rise in tax over the next 4 years.
And here I thought Oz was a free country...But since I don't smoke...
What I want to know is whether your government is trying to do to vapers what our government is doing...and whether they're bothering to at least kiss you first...

With at least some indications that never smokers that try e-cigarettes are not as likely to get addicted to just the nicotine becoming habitual users and the likely scenario if the deming hands the market to BT how long before they start adding in the addictive additives to hook their next generation of customers.

That is what is really criminal in all this. The FDA basically handed a death sentence to millions of people with this deeming.

Correct & truthful.

It's like saying a Vitamin C tablet is a fruit.
Or a candle is a light bulb.
Or a toothpick is a tree.

Also correct & truthful.

When cheap and healthier choices to nicotine are removed from public access...
Big Pharma will start rolling out their nicotine-based drugs...

And if I want to avoid Alzheimers or Parkinsons, I'll have to pay for the privilege.

At this time, nicotine WILL be severed from tobacco...
By the same people doing their level best to screw us now...

Correct & truthful, you know the plan in exacting detail. All a dog & pony show to wind up that the Big corporations profit. Who cares what happens to people? So, long as corporations profit no one seems to care.

Ya can't fix stupid or ignorant

Well, I think ignorant can be fixed with education. Stupid, the willing choice to not be educated is not fixable until the choice alters.

I think vaping is allowed in Oz, but sale of liquids with nicotine is banned. AFAIK, consumers are allowed to import nic liquid for personal use, and I think there are limits on how much they can order overseas at one time. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
