The reason I am thinking about getting vamo is ability to replace battery. My MVP V2.0 is only 4-5 months old and battery life becomes terrible.

I love my MVP2's (and VV V3's) I have in my "rotation".

But when focalecig had that "Group buy" for a Vamo V5 for less than $20 I figured I might as well "try" one.

After about a month of playing with my new "toy" I know it will never replace my MVP2's (it's big and heavy). But it is FUN to vape!

And...a couple of my Clearomizers (eg. nautilus and iClear 30S) that were just "OK" at the 11 Watt limit of the MVP2 seem to have "come alive" in the 12-15 Watt high-end of the Vamo.

I'm solidly secure in my masculinity and live in a liberal area and I still can't bring myself to walk around in public with this giant phallus in my hand. It also makes me feel just a little bit inadequate. But it vapes decent and I use it around the house with the others on charge ready to go. I use it the most to test the battery V for my mech without having to go get my DMM.

Maybe this...

You can also take the beauty ring and install any other ego threaded beauty ring like those that come in Protanks... Also when it does't make contact, put that to avoid messing with the pole

Ok, got that a long while ago, but... My coils are generally for the MVP (I don't like my mech and my batts are older 10A), so I'm building avg 1.8 coils. Not even microcoils, because I use silica, not cotton. So, 9 turns of 30 ga, covering more surface, more difficult to set on a KF 3.1, no wonder doesn't vape good for me.

I do build for the iGo L with lower ga, but I prefer a 1.1 ohm for my mech with 28 ga tops. Safer, and can be controlled. On the MVP would vape at 3.3 max, so that's why it goes to the mech. No sub ohms here... Rarely double coils (too much hassle). Even setting down a 9 turn splice into a Terminator... IMPOSSIBLE.

Is that a Vamo in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

Just a note for people playing with lower resistance coils on the MVP I somewhat accidentally made a .9ohm coil today for my kayfun, must have gone one lap around the drill bit than I expected. Well since I already built it I figured I'd give it a try, since I've been really liking 1.2ohm allot more than the higher coils I've built. So I wicked it and it's working really well I'd actually say better then the 1.2ohm in vapor production and taste it's working better for me. I actually went back to a 1.6ohm this week but found it just wasn't nearly as good for me as I remembered. So if nothing else might be something for you to try with kayfuns etc, I'm not noticing a huge difference from this to a 1.2ohm and I think when I rebuild next I'll probably go between 1-1.2ohms but this is working well so we'll see.

I hope you heal fast my friend, that ain't no fun at all.

I had 3 vascular surgeries femoral to femoral crossover, 2 of those and an aorta bi femoral, that one almost killed me, but here I am, still kickin'
Looked like a Frankenstein movie with all the staples after the surgery.

Whoa! Ain't none of that sounds good. Despite their best efforts you showed them though! :toast:

Maybe this...

I can use the beauty ring with the Kayfun but not the Russian. Can't believe a spring loaded pin isn't an industry standard by now.

The MVP2 doesn't ever get past 3.4 volts on a 1ohm coil and not over 3.9 on a 1.5 ohm coil. Check out PBusardos scope stats... (13m13second mark)

I know that it doesn't make sense based on the specs and it may have more to do with the smaller coil heating faster but it works.

Yes, Same with me even though I know the technical limitations...Whatever vapes best is what vapes best...:toast:

If you put it in 800 mah battery mode, it may make you feel less inadequate

I actually enjoy it with a single 800 mah battery. Not superb battery life but is not quite as long or unwieldy.

Someone mentioned a drop in battery time. Mine is now going 700-800 puffs to yellow. Used to be over 1000. 1.6Ω is about as low as I go and 1.8 or more normally at 7 or 8 watts. I think I got this in March as a warranty replacement.

My Zmax seems to give around 300 for 18350, 400-500 for 18490 and maybe 800 for a 2000mah 18650.

Unfortunately, the puff counters have one major inherent flaw....it does not take into account puff length! If you puff 3 to 4 second pulls, your counter is going to read considerably higher over a given period than someone who takes it to the 10 second shutoff every vape! We'd be far better served with a button "time" counter (like a boat or riding lawnmower, the amount of times you "started" the engine would tell you nothing at all about it's actual usage!). One can hit the button 10 times and still not have used as much of the battery as one good long vape that would only register as 1 puff. Over the course of many hundred vapes, this discrepancy is greatly exaggerated and this makes it (realistically) of no value other than to compare your usage vs your usage.

That's a good point!! I tend to take longer draws myself. It would be better to count the seconds used instead of puffs. How many times the engine was started doesn't take into account how long it was ridden or how hard.
