MBV.

A few days ago I got nostalgic and placed an order with HHV, which is veratad. I have placed
orders with several other companies using veratad that easily verified me online and no
action was needed on my part. However first thing in the morning after placing my order
HHV emailed saying they couldn't verify me and I needed to send a copy of my DL. I
replied that no other place has had this problem and they resorted to .. 'It's not us
it's those FDA rules remember.' I just cancelled the order. Probably not a big deal
however I have yet to submit any copy of a DL to anyone for an order, and I don't
need the order anyhow, LOL.
Who is HHV?

That's a pretty good guess. ;)

I'm going to leave HHV as Veritad until I hear from them. I emailed them to confirm.

There are a few reasons why you might have trouble getting through Veritad. For instance misspelling something in your address, or using Bob instead of Robert for example etc. although I thought once Veritad verified you, they don't check again but what do I know.

Some sites are real picky about the address also. I don't remember the vendor details, but I failed verification once because I entered my address as "6th Street" instead of "6TH ST".

I came across one site a few years ago that uses a third party shipping company and they wanted 50 bucks to ship a small 2 dollar e-cig part to Canada that could fit in an envelope.

Totally Wicked, perchance?

Guess I'll have to pass - $49.99 shipping to Canada :(

@EleanorR Name 'em and shame 'em is right. ;)

Yes Heather's Heavenly Vapes. They DO use Veritad. I've done business with
several companies that use Veritad with never an issue. The thing is, I
think they ask automatically (HHV) for copy of DL to keep in their file
regardless. It just came through too quickly like nobody even tried or looked
to see what the results of Veritad were. MY opinion, and I could be wrong.
In any event I'm not giving them a copy of my DL. And their reply to me
just reverted to the old line of - 'Don't blame us, it's the FDA's fault.'
Now one thing I hadn't considered was the possibility of something being off
in the name or addy. I'm EASILY verifiable online, I have one of those names.
There should not be a problem easily finding out everything about me, and
I haven't moved in 13 years. But I'll go compare info about name and addy
with the sites that have no problems with verifying me, to what HHV has
on file for me. See if there's a difference somewhere I didn't notice.
In any event I have enough supplies to last me a long time I didn't really need
their juice, LOL. It was a whim order for days gone by. =)

Update - Not a difference in the info on file between Veritad businesses
that shipped to me without requiring a copy of DL and that of the one
that wanted a copy of my DL (HHV). ONLY difference found was one
that had shipped to me had an abbreviation in the addy (Rd. for Road).
HHV and other vendors had Road spelled out in full. The cc is in my name,
and I'm the only person with that name in the country that I can find.
And plenty of info is brought up about me with a simple search. So either
a copy of the DL is HHV's own rules, or someone on their end made
an error. But other Veritad businesses did not require a copy of DL.
Again this prob isn't a big deal to most, however I do not wish to submit
a copy of my DL.

Thanks for the update. I wonder if they have changed their AV process although they say on their website that they use Veratad. Hopefully they will respond to my email. I'll let everyone know their reply.

UUUUUUUUUUUUUGH another update. They charged my cc for the order. Just today.
So it may (or may not) ship regardless of if they have a copy of my DL or not. Apparently
it didn't matter that I said cancel the order and they acknowledged they would cancel
the order. Geez.

Edit: Today's update - charge has been removed from credit card.

Hopefully you'll get your order.

HHV got back to me about their age verification. This is what they said:

Yes, we use a software called Veratad to verify the ages of our online
customers. If Veratad cannot verify your age, you would be prompted to
send us a picture of your photo ID. Once we have it on file, we can
manually pass you in our system and clear you for future orders.

Could it be that the last time you ordered from them was before the FDA intrusion?

Yes the last time I ordered from them was prior to last August.
However. No other company using Veratad has had a problem
verifying me. Exact same info on file. No big deal but I'm not
submitting a photo ID for their files. No one has asked for a photo
ID yet of me except HHV. And I'm easily verifiable. So if Veratad
cannot verify me through HHV why were the others using Veratad
able to verify me? Just vape for thought.

I've mentioned this in the past but it was many pages back now. In my experience when they ask for a DL pic they really just need something govt issued to confirm your info. A DL is what most people would use but it isn't your only option. I won't send my DL but I have never had any issue with sending my concealed carry weapons license to verify my age. It contains what they need but nothing else of use and no one could really do anything with a copy of it. A fishing or hunting license might also work considering most that I've ever had did have my birthday and name on it.

And that could be pertinent to Gerrymi's comments about "foreign" sites. As in some do (require) and some don't?

(Talk about a can of worms......)

So...just like US sites...ECFers could order from a foreign site...then come here and report their "AV experiences"...and have them put on The List...(perhaps with an * )...

I have been buying from Mt Baker for awhile but they started using bluecheck so I want to switch vendors. Which of the vendors on the AV list have good reps and are popular among forum members? I think Veratad AV would be ok, just no bluecheck. It would also be great to find a place with pricing similar to Mt Baker (i.e. cheap ;). Thanks!

@Mike757 ...Have you run across Budget Vapors?

"Unknown" checkout (effortless and hassle-free)...GREAT tasting ejuice (160 to choose from at bottom of the page)...$9.99 for 120ml. with FREE shipping...

E-Liquids 120ML ONLY $9.99
