Would be nice to get seasonal changes. But the Brits won't be too enthusiastic about Halloween stuff.
Not for me. You know the background to that festival? I was just participating in a discussion of that elsewhere.Me too when they can get around to it.The Guy Fawkes symbol out to be a hoot.
I think the "optimistic" icon is meant to be taken as - "that's a bit optimistic", i.e. "don't get your hopes up"! So, in that reading, perhaps "neutral" is fine.
Thinking this through, though, why have a count at all for neutrals? Perhaps we should just hide it.

Yes, Fawkes was no saint. However, he is a symbol of anti-Catholicism, and the entire bloodbath on both sides, Queen Mary included.I actually did look into it at one point. I wasn't convinced on that particular individual. Doesn't mean they they won't stop celebrating the 5th any more than Christmas will stop being celebrated as the day Christ was born. But a lot of people know that, it's convincing big retailers...
OK, now "basic" old style likes are working.Hmmn, how annoying. OK, plan b....
I've used 'Like' to mean like, nod my head as passing, sympathy, agree, funny, etc. But, I've never used 'Like' just to mark something 'Read'.Speaking just for myself...I didn't just use the like button before as a means of bookmarking whether or not I had read a post. I preferred to only use it when I actually did like the post. I have never expected everyone to like every post I may make, so what difference does it make if someone marks a post as neutral or if they don't use any button at all?
It's difficult to convey some sentiments in tiny little icons. I was thinking of teddy bear maybe, for comfort / sympathy, but once it gets so teeny it's not very legible. Maybe something like this for hug / support / sending love:

That sending-love icon is from the Noun Project, which has a ton of cool, searchable icons. (I colored it in, though.) There are other possibilities, though. I was looking at a cup of tea for sympathy, for instance, but then that seemed a little *too* specific ("sympathy" vs "I support/care about you").
If it is just the layout you aren't liking you can go back to the way it was. For me the only thing that has changed is the like system and I kinda like that changeSounds like I'm in the minority with not loving these changes. I realize that it's our choice whether or not to participate on this site. That being said, Im glad others are happy with the new opinions. And wish you all good luck
Since 99% of my ecf time is on tapatalk (I only flip to browser view for in- thread searching on user name), the changes are now a shrug to me. The only kind of like I'll ever be using is the thumbs-up [emoji5]Sounds like I'm in the minority with not loving these changes.
