I think that when people talk about no wick there is some confusion. Please if I am wrong than correct me but when they say the Io6 is wickless, that just means that it does not have the wick outside or above the coil, it will still have a wick that the coil is wrapped around otherwise what would the coil draw liquid from. I just want to clear up any confusion for people.
I cant vouch for the i06, but wickless attys I have had, do not have any wicking material. The coil is placed deep in the cup and it just vaporizes the liquid around it.

So, this new Io6 does have some wick... it has a chunk that lives inside the coils... and a little tiny bit of stuff outside the coils, but I pulled that.

Jury is still out on mine... been using it for about an hour. Flavor is ok, vapor is ok, throat hit is crazy... but almost like something is wrong and its burning something...

seems like it came primed, and I didnt follow my usual "de-priming" steps that I take before using any IKV atty... so maybe the burning sensation is from the primer? Going to play with it, give it some time to "break in", and give me some time to figure it out before I draw any conclusions....

PS... I strongly dislike the drip tip... the hole is too small and you cant really see through it which is really important to me... but the draw is pretty nice!

the drip tip that comes standard or the special one you can get from Isaac?

The special one... its solid black... small drip hole... I like a bigger drip hole and at least semi-see-thru. Just my preference I suppose.

Standard 306 DT is too small... cannon is too small too

The regular old smokey transparent urethane 306 is my absolute favorite

when mine will arrive I will take the Dremmel and do some tip modding ;-)

Yeh, I'm sure he'll come out with other options... hopefully something clear/transparent.

Round 2 with this "de-primed" atty is a good amount better... still not fully broken in I dont think... but I've found that it holds a lot more juice than Ike recommends... It took 10 drops and then the bottom holes start to glisten... but didnt pour out... yielded my 5-6 nice hits with nice flavor, vapor, throat hit (as I expect from BWB Casablanca)... then 4 more drops fills it back up... also, I make sure to take cold pulls on the atty before I fire to draw the juice down below in the meshy reservoir up into the cup/coils... to make sure I dont get dry hits... after 4-5 hits I can no longer "feel" the juice in the atty, I refill...

decent so far... but it has big shoes to fill (regular 306s)

using this on my omega and provari at 6v, and right off the bat it's working. usually i have to pull the center piece out a little bit with a small screwdriver just to get the IKV atties to fire, so this is a big plus.

the draw is nice.. it's the best draw i found from an atomizer so far imo, (i've tried 306's/510's/901's).

this one is metering out to 3.7ohm, a little too cool for my taste, but the flavor is a tad better than the 306 because of it, but the throat hit is significantly less than the 306.

oh and i agree with chorn that i hate how the drip tip isn't clear... we'll obviously have more choices in the future, but i always look through the drip tip to gauge things. i do though like the shape of the drip tip in my mouth (lol) and i prefered the smaller size drip tips so it's a plus to me.. i like the drip tip

i'm liking it though... but i'm wanting more TH. going to find one that meters to 3.5ohm and see if the TH increases and i'll report back

EDIT: and it did come with a strand of wick that i pulled out just because... -.-

EDIT2: 2nd came with wick and metered to 3.7 too... argh

EDIT3: trying a 3rd.. little bit a primer in there, so make sure to blow em out before use

IkenVape io6 Teardown - YouTube

Really was just an excuse to play with my new webcam. *shrugs*

BUT! Yes, there is a teeny tiny piece of wick that runs through the coils. Ignore the fingers, I'm a nail biter. I'll wear gloves going forward :(

Wow, you really did it! Thanks for taking one for the team!

Hey, regarding nail biting... Have you considered vaping instead? :)

I don't mind doing stuff like that. I used the LR io6 as I don't use LR stuff that often, especially since I got the SB in and can do 6v again. If it benefits the community then cool.

And as far as vaping... I need to do something when I can't vape! lol
