They may have been from one of the missionary orders.

St. Joseph order was the worst, and I mean the worst of all the orders of which I had any contact.

IHM (Immaculate Heart of Mary) were the sweetest nuns and thank God the majority of my Catholic school training was by IHM.
The nuns were fine. But, in parochial school, the nuns only teach a small part of the day. The regular teachers were quite abusive, criminally abusive. Too bad I didn't know I could do anything about it.
I was in high school before they let girls start wearing pants to school.
8th grade for me. Nasty pant-suits had to do for me. I hated dresses. No blue jeans until 12th grade. Not that it did any good. My grandmother bought all the clothes, and she wasn't going for it.

From what I read, the phone belongs to the mother, while the dad pays for the plan.

Yes it is. And I don't blame him. She seems to be destined to turn out exactly like her mother.

Indeed.

Are you sure your ISP isn't throttling you, or being throttled themselves? I have Century Link, and we get throttled by Verizon. Why? Because to reach the Level 3 internet backbone in this area, the Century Link traffic has to go through a Verizon network. Now, because Verizon hates everyone, including their customers and other peoples customers, they decide "screw them, slow them down because we want more money".

I tried making FCC complaints, but the FCC just relays those to the ISP, who sent a technician out to check our hardware, and told me about the Verizon issue. Apparently Century Link is running their own fiber optic line to Level 3 (the internet backbone company. The ISP for ISP's like Comcast or Verizon), but they hit some kind of snag with federal land, even though they had all the state permits to run the line.

Just an FYI, I'm an IT Networking Student. Specifically Networking Security, but that's more along the lines of how Networking works, and what to turn on and off.

Side note: I made a second FCC complaint, telling the FCC what Century Link told me off the record about two weeks ago. Yesterday my mom called them saying she had to cancel the service because we could no longer afford it due to her illness (stage 4 pancreatic and liver cancer. Already metastatic). They cut the price in half for 12 months, with no reduction in speeds.

Damned nice of them, since I still need the internet to finish my last semester of ECPI, as well as job hunt.
Wow, Trik, you've got a load on you! Hang in there!

Me, too. I think my last 2 years we could wear pants suits, or blouse/sweater & slacks. Before that it was all dresses or skirts. Boys had to have collars & hair cuts above the collar d no facial hair. No jeans or tshirts. No bare legs. No shorts or capri's of any length. Skirts no more than 3" above the knee. But we could wear sandals & bare legs the last couple of years.
i grew a beard the summer after my freshman year. showed up to school on day 1 the next year and got kicked out to shave.

of course, after that, it was "Game On". i showed up to school every year with my summer beard and got kicked out on day 1, every year.

a couple years, i shaved everything except a "soul patch" after getting kicked out. but even the "soul patch" got me kicked out eventually.

i used to have to hitchhike to HS. a few times the principal picked me up. it was obvious he was still drunk at 7am

fun times

Roto that is great news. :) I'm betting you will find it much smoother since you won't spend the first couple of days back cleaning up after that youngin.
I do believe that you are right, Mrs. C. It will be much easier to deal with.

Woohoo!!! Guess this is an official congratulations!!! Such wonderful news!! What are you going to do to celebrate - besides dancing in the streets and leaping for joy!!
Haven't thought about it too much, but may buy myself something special just for me.

Yay! Maybe you'll have a more peaceful work week now. More work, & more week, but more peace to make it easier. Happy for you!
It will be more peaceful. No doubt about it.

For those that are interested, the interview went ok, but he had no openings, he is going to send my info to another store that does.
Too bad you don't live closer. I could probably get you on over here. Still, I'm sending positive vibes your way for that job!

As for school and shoes, there were no Catholic or private schools where i came from, and i had to wear cowboy boots to school till jr high, then i got cheap tennis shoes, the result? My toes are shaped funny and i hate shoes.

The talls were barely long enough. I'm so glad all that is pretty much over with!
i, of course, was partial to these back in the day

back when i was scuba diving i soon learned that a pair of Big Mama's made pulling on a diving suit much easier.

of course, if you forgot to pull off your Mama's, the evening beach feast could get quite memorable
