No ice cream, but I did come home and make apple turnovers for him. The recipe said bake 25-30 min. Not good! Poor Mike.

It's ok everybody! I put the fire out! No one died! [emoji15] But fire extinguishers sure leave a mess. [emoji47] Now just who is going to clean that up may I ask? [emoji15]

In 15 days it'll be my turn, but Mike will always be older than me... We'll be celebrating in Steamboat Springs in Colorado visiting our daughter and her fiancee. Wanted to spend a little time with him before he's deployed in November.

Sometimes it feels like I'm living in Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. Saw this big fellow when I walked the dog this morning. Of course he pulled his legs in when I stuck the camera in his face. He's a Painted Turtle, the same kind you used to be able to buy at the neighborhood pet store or even the pet section at the 5 and dime. This one is about 9", shell only.

Uh, UH....thanks for the suggestion, but my eyes already take a beating with all the computer work I do. I'd go blind trying to read on my phone.

But, it would be so nice to have an entire library of books available on one tiny device that I could throw into my purse! I used to choose my purses based on how well they could carry books.

Now, that sounds great to me! I already carry WAY too much junk with me to work every day. Something I can throw in my bag would be awesome.

As some of you already know, a dear childhood friend passed on Wednesday night! It hit harder than I could have imagined, and gave me pause for reflection for my own existence.
