No fire. Lots of birthday candles. I thought she was talking about a fire too. You don't drop a post like that and run! Had me worried for her for a while.
yeah the comment about the fire extinguisher mess had me convinced.

Thank you! Yes, it was much needed!

Thanks Kay, and back atcha!

The first option was indeed the reason! :)

Kenna, feeling ambivalent is a good thing! I applaud you for your positive attitude!

Well, it's a day or two late, but right now, the weather calls for a mostly cloudy day with chance of thunderstorms.

As some of you already know, a dear childhood friend passed on Wednesday night! It hit harder than I could have imagined, and gave me pause for reflection for my own existence.
Anyway, I am in acceptance mode right now, and even though she will be sorely missed, I have years of wonderful memories filled with love, laughter and the good times we shared in the 59 years we knew one another.

Gracie...I'm so happy to read your last sentence! It's rare to have a life-long friend, so you were very fortunate!

{{{{{Gracie}}}}}, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. We too lost a dear friend a month ago and it hit us like a ton of bricks. I still find myself so often thinking that I need to remember to tell him something or I'll be making a big dinner and want to reach for the phone to tell him to come over. It's hard, but I know that he's in a better place now. We got some good advice after the death of our son-in-law. Grieve however you need to, but celebrate the life you had together. My prayers are with you for strength and healing.

Tory, sounds like your Dad is making a fantastic recovery. If he's noticing the nurses he's got to be feeling better! I hope his food is getting better too.
Yep when he starts pinching them on the .... he is well enough to go home ;)

Bob not pushing but a smartphone purchase was one of the best things I ever bought. There is so much you can do with it.

I am just a techno luddite. The smart phones are too hard to carry around with me without breaking those expensive things. To me a phone is a phone I like my old flip fone just fine. For portable browsing I take my Kindle. Bigger screen and easier to use and can read a book on it without going blind.

Wife has a smart phone. 3 broken in one year....

I loved my Motorola flip phone, but it was finally starting to have fits so it had to be replaced. Since Mike and our daughter and I all bought our phones at the same time they were all sputtering out together. Our daughter convinced me to get a iPhone and I'm glad I did. Turns out I love it. It's so easy to use even for a techno luddite like me. If you're worried about breaking it just get the insurance. (The only problem I had was dropping it in the toilet

) That way you just get a new one.

Yeah 2 friends funerals in the last week for me....

Aww geez, so sorry Robert. {{{{{Hugs}}}}} 2 at once is really tough. Sending some healing thoughts your way.

MIL is doing fine. She is very lucky, just a big lump and some bruising. CT scan is clear and they say not concussion. Thanks for asking.

Lucky is right. That fall could have been really serious. Happy to hear she's doing so much better. You'll just have to make up some good stories when somebody asks you how she got those bruises.

You guy's talking about destroying cell phones got me to thinking my kid killed his otterbox, so it was a reminder to go looking for a new case. I just ordered a alum. " love mei" for his phone and I found one for mine also. Both from the same U. S. company. $45 looks like a good price for some Kid Proofing, cheaper then replacing the phone. We can start a pool on how long it takes Kellen to beat up this one.
