for Willie... nice meeting you.

since 1969, when i first heard this album, i have told people "this is what i have instead of god"...

Thanks, Dennis .. it's one of my favorites as well .. enjoyed the chat .. and, since he does a much, much better rendition than I do .. ;) .. and for those that may have not put 2 and 2 together .. :) .. BTW, my old friend Jack Daniels was doing much of the talking for me .. ;)

Ah Ha. That explains a lot. Well, since you're planning on using it in the future, but are short on space, would it be worthwhile to rent a storage unit? That way it you'd still have it and could bring it out for a project without having it in your way the rest of the time.
Ha! I don't think it's a question of it being in the way. I think the issue is other things, (like walls), being in the way of it!

Have to read back to catch up, but I do see that Willie is back! So good to see you back!!! :):thumb:
Now, have I missed any tunes......guess I have to read back to find out! ;)
Glad you are back safely, Gracie! Get some rest, & unwind. Physically & emotionally, little lady!

Here we go .. I would be remiss in not mentioning my love of Tex/Mex .. or Tejano .. really a mix of German Polka/Mexican/Louisiana Zydeco/Mariachi/Conjunto .. falling between the cracks of Rock, Country and Latin ... all thrown together into a musical stew that just makes the foot tap and the Dance floor becon with an infectious 2 step vibe .. especially if there are some lovely Senoritas at hand or we could say Senior Ritas .. propagated by the likes of The Texas Tornados, Doug Sahm, Flaco Jimenez, Los Lobos, Sir Douglas Quintet, Freddy Fender and many more .. much like the musical equivalent of the Tex/Mex Combo Platter .. in my youth, I grew up in San Antonio, where the big Dance Halls were the best place to experience this true roots music .. gone are most all of the Dance Halls, but the flavor of this most excellent music remains ..

Now this one needs to be at the Tiki house!

But Mike, ya left out the most important piece of vintage advice there, so being the dutiful female that I am I added it for ya.....

I know, I know, I'm rambling .. at any rate, Waylon Jennings in 1968, went on to blend all of this mish mash into this rocking/Tex/Mex/Country/Tejano/Semi Zydeco snarl ..

Well, keep on a' rambling, cause I'm gorging all of it and enjoying the stark contrast from this past week.

I, for one, rather enjoyed your a cappella rendition ;)

Be careful what you wish for .. continuing on in the Texas / South state of mind .. and switching gears some .. If my brain is still in gear, I believe this came from the "Steel Magnolias" soundtrack .. correct me if I'm wrong .. it's one of my favorite Country ballads where Willie really speaks so well with his old guitar ..

Moving on to Port Arthur, TX .. and who I consider the finest white female blues singer of her generation, Janis took this Kris Kristofferson song and turned it into a wistful story of two lives and one longing .. there is so much going on with her voice, it is so powerful and authentic .. and she did not live to ever see the record released .. "Freedom's Just Another Word For Nothin' Left To Lose" ..

And what playlist featuring Texas would be complete without Buddy Holly .. ?? Hailing from Lubbock, and using a John Wayne quote from an old film called "The Searchers", this tune kicked off an impressive body of work that only lasted 18 short months before the "Day the Music Died" .. Hail, Hail, Rock and Roll ..

And definitely more painful!
I have a neighbor. I decided that it was too stressful to attempt a casual, friendly relationship with him. I quit talking to him, and started ignoring him. He confronted me and yelled at me too many times, even after that. I contemplated getting some Mace. Instead, I talked to a police officer. We discussed the options, and I decided to let him talk to the guy, with the purpose of de-escalation. Three days, and no problems. :nun:

Good choices, Willy. Especially Buddy.
