But Mike, ya left out the most important piece of vintage advice there, so being the dutiful female that I am I added it for ya.....

Oh wow - that song was buried so dang deep in my brain it was all but forgotten.

I have a neighbor. I decided that it was too stressful to attempt a casual, friendly relationship with him. I quit talking to him, and started ignoring him. He confronted me and yelled at me too many times, even after that. I contemplated getting some Mace. Instead, I talked to a police officer. We discussed the options, and I decided to let him talk to the guy, with the purpose of de-escalation. Three days, and no problems. :nun:

Good choices, Willy. Especially Buddy.

another oh Wow ... but this time for I'm glad it working so far ... hope it continues.

Refreshing to hear. I guess that's the difference between a big city and a small town. In a big city, the police officer would have said that he couldn't do anything until something 'happened'.

I'm glad it's working!
Especially if you give the officer "The Look".

Watch your back! He might hold a grudge & build up to something worse. Or someone else might pho & decide to take it out on you. Police or not.

They know my history, and they know his history. Officer had the names and info from dispatch, and the initial contact was by phone. I didn't want them on the property until I had explained the situation, otherwise, he would have had an opportunity to get all worked up, expecting multiple accusations. He is who he is (that is all I can say), and he can't conform to my expectations for a neighborly relationship.

But a spoon is just an exclamation point...
One step before "The Look".

LOL...."The Look" properly administered, eliminates the need for anything else, and.....there ARE other tactics.......I did say I was lover ;)

Hax. I don't think it's a question of it being in the way. I think the issue is other things, (like walls), being in the way of it!
That's pretty true. I'll find someplace to temporarily store it probably in the back corner of the spare bedroom. I promised Willie a place to stay should he desire to come spend some time with us in South Florida so I hope he doesn't mind sharing a room with a table saw in the back corner. :)

Isn't it great to work with mostly folks you like. Didn't say job you liked but, seems kind of obvious you like your folk (mostly).

Oh, I LOVE my job, and I do like the people I work with. I seem to be the humor target around here, which is fine with me. I'm a big girl. I can take it.

Finally back after an emotionally packed week. So glad it is over and now on to more pleasant things

I'm SO glad you're back, Gracie!! Now, just rest up a little.

I had almost all the songs quoted to point out which ones were Zydeco, and which ones were Cajun French. The quotes came up without the video, SO, so much for that thought. Still, I enjoyed them all.

I'm dying of boredom over here.

Good to see you back, Willie!!

Oh man, I'm so sorry you're having problems with your neighbor. That's the pits. One of the reasons I've always dreaded moving was worrying about crappy neighbors. Can't get away from them. We're all just doing the best we can on this journey, why can't they at least be respectful.

I grew up in a quiet country neighborhood. People kept to themselves, but if anybody needed help we'd all show up to help - until that one family moved in. We went out of our way to help the one son play ball with the rest of the kids because he had a deformed hand. The mother was in the hospital with a heart condition so I went in and cleaned their house for her homecoming. As the kids got older stuff started happening, like setting their car on fire one night, breaking into houses, throwing stones at me when I left the house. WTH? Police were called on them regularly until finally they left in the middle of the night. Turns out they moved here because their neighborhood in Phila kicked them out. We never gave them any reason to be nasty to us and there was no way we could ignore them given where their house sat. I learned years later that the boys were in prison for murder. I had another friend who actually moved from a lovely home because of a nasty neighbor. I just don't get it.

The police are aware of your problem and maybe having the officer stop by will help. Meanwhile the best you can do is pretend he doesn't exist. How are you at building a privacy wall?

Have to read back to catch up, but I do see that Willie is back! So good to see you back!!! :):thumb:
Now, have I missed any tunes......guess I have to read back to find out! ;)

Sorry you had to have such a week, but I'm glad you're back. You deserve a break now. Just try to relax and concentrate on pleasant things - like the porch! Got some great music flowing here!
