I don't know what you do for respite services, but if you leave her alone at home, that could be an anxiety problem in itself for you.

Appreciate your input! I go down to da 'office' fer 'bout 2.5 hours a day fer some spiritual and social 'replenishment'. That's the only time, besides grocery shopping, haircuts and my Dr. appointments, I'm away from home without Patty. If I have any disconcerting concerns for Patty's welfare, I stay home.

Besides, no one has ever asked me to return fer a Karaoke performance...

Wow, what an upbeat day! Had an Home Care nurse, sweet Sharon, drop by today to evaluate Patty's issues. Long story short, PT and medical assistance here at home as needed. She also offered to look into social services and my GI options for a retired vet's spouse care. I don't know if she's a PR specialist, but she was pleasantly surprised, and relieved, with our 'physical attention to and self care' at home.

To top it all off, she noted my vaping and made a comment. Well, that just kicked off my vaping 'spiel and spew', and HC took a 20 minute back seat. She's been vaping fer two years and was complaining 'bout TW's prices. Dropped her jaw when I gave her a couple of non-TW price examples; not counting DIY advantage$. Gave her an ECF card with my nomer and she promised she'd take a 'sip from da fire hose' of info here.

I offered and she accepted a lil' mentoring via phone, if need be. We'll see...

Plus, got to replenish my fireman v-vert's no nic/flav supplies dis PM!

Better day today... in spite of dreary but pleasant weather!

Great to hear you had a good HC nurse visit. It helps a lot if you're already aware and helping. And that's fantastic that she's receptive to your vaping advice. Mentoring via phone with somebody who already understands vaping is so much easier than trying to get somebody started by phone or email!! Good job making the connection with her!

I also am hard on keyboards so I'm taking notes. I got one of those mini electric air blowers and using it at least once a week helps a LOT. A week ago I replaced my old keyboard with another old keyboard that I had. I'm still pulling cat hair out of it even though my last cat died 3 years ago, and I'm sure that plenty of cigarette ashes got into it too, from my pre-vaping days. The hyphen/underscore key still sticks, which is the reason I stopped using this keyboard in the first place. I use the minus sign instead of the hyphen and use the underscore as little as possible.

Jup. Had a board with a bunch of keys that stopped working and some sticking and figgered... why not? Oh... no soap. But still needed a new one since it is recommended to leave it at least a week to dry. Preferably in the sun. But gives you a spare board.
Obviously wouldn't work for a short somewhere. But most boards die from spills or... blowin a lotta smoke at em, gettin em gooey. :)
Now if you spilled something on it and kept trying it, chances are you fried something. But not much to lose by givin the dishwasher a shot.

I don't know if you missed anything, but you interpret the comments differently from the way I interpret them. No biggie; my comments were lighthearted and based on my own perceptions of what was being said by several people earlier in the day.

Sorry. I read some of it as critical. My mistake.

Cleaning the keyboard. Simple. Read this a while back and tried it. It "usually" works. Saved a couple.

Now, take a deep breath and pay attention. When all else fails. Top shelf. Dishwasher. Yep. I mean jup. Actually worked. Key is let it dry at least a week.

I was appalled the first time I heard it, but at the school where I worked they would rinse the keyboard well under water and left it to dry face down. Evidently it worked for them. But, Yikes!

So how are ya liking it so far Matt? I love mine; great little form factor for the battery size. Being the tootle puffer that I am I opted to buy a box of TC coils that fit my GS Air-M, but haven't tried them out yet. I'm liking the Nauti mini on mine for now. Here's a pic of mine, got her decked out in some autumn colors.

In the dishwasher, but without soap right?

my dishwasher can barely get dishes clean. maybe that's a good sign for the keyboard, tho...

i just bought a new wireless keyboard/mouse combo. i can't be without a keyboard for a week. i lost the ability to write legibly a few years ago, so i have to scan forms, then type in stuff, print it, sign it (i can still sign my name since it's always been a scribble), scan it, then fax or email it. i may be closing escrow any day on a condo, so the keyboard was a must.

after the keyboard worked for an hour, my old wired mouse stopped working. i had to pull out the new wireless mouse to get anything done. sheesh

i spent my entire career working with, designing or programming computers

god, i hate them now
:)

I'm going to try the dishwasher method on an old keyboard. With Cascade, because I'm not going to run a soapless load for the sake of a keyboard that I haven't used for 10 years and should have tossed. I'll let you know in a week if it works.

Got a question. I have a flavor it is a Mango Mix. It is mixed with tropical fruits which taste like orange, pinapple and maybe some others. It needs sweetening and I am thinking of using TFA Cotton Candy which is Ethyl Malto 10% in a base of PG. What percentage should I use to sweeten it. I don't want to lose the flavor just sweeten it a bit. I was thinking 5% but have never used it for sweetening and that is what I have it for. It is a very complex flavoring but good just kind of bitter.
I'd start at 2% if you just want to sweeten it a little.
