Did you see that they list a kit for converting your own typewriter? It's listed for $55 but it's also sold out. Hey, when I don't have any, I sell 'em for $49. http://www.usbtypewriter.com/collections/kits

And I screamed when I thought about all the old Underwoods I could have bought for a few bucks years ago and now made a killing on .. :( .. who knew .. ??

Well, Janis version was a cover as well, it was originally done by Irma Franklin, Aretha's sister .. and I think it was Faith Hill and/or Melissa Etheridge that later did covers .. an example, once again, where Black Soul adapted by White Singers went on to become a hit .. not slamming Janis version, just saying ..

Disclaimer : I didn't pull that from memory, but I did know Janis version was a cover ..

Melissa Ethridge performed it at the CMA during her breast cancer battle. She still had no hair & wore a scarf on her head. She did the song justice.

In general I agree, but the USPS just amazed me - I ordered on Saturday morning and it was delivered on Monday - from 3 states away (about 800 miles)...
Amazon uses the USPS all the time for the Prime deliveries. When I first started with them everything came UPS now it's more USPS. I ordered a set of six Yamaha speakers for the home theater install and the shipped USPS. Should of seen the poor dude toting them up the driveway.

I am pretty far behind, but that is one PURPLE! keyboard!

I always like an ergonomic keyboard, but now just use my laptoo keyboard. It has survived a coffee dump (thankfully I don't use cream and/or sugar).
Speaking of covers .. last night on "The Voice", this young woman just knocked me out with this new take on an old Cheap Trick classic ..

Very nice! I didn't watch The Voice bit now I wish I had!

More catching up to do...

Oh, iffy, glad you and your bride are getting help. Take some stress off you because I know she is very special.

I find that USPS isn't really that bad. In fact has been faster than others. UNLESS it's shipped fedex smartpost or UPS to USPS. In that case, if yer waitin' at the mailbox. Pack a lunch.

Hmm. I get an order from Amazon at least once a week and most of them come via UPS. I was really surprised when I got a very small box that had two camera batteries in it. It was delivered by UPS instead of them turning it over to the USPS.

Guess it depends on where it's shipping from and to. Some stuff comes UPS and some USPS.

I use the Logitech Trackman Marble Trackball mouse...

One of my first on-line purchases was a trackball (eBay, I think). T'was awesome with da graphic program I used almost daily (no, don't 'member which one). I was da rage of da shop! Luv'd 'em.

Hardest delivery day ever was the day that Hurricane Floyd hit in 1999...

Floyd used to be a popular name down in dat area for generations... not so much since!

For those that still want to straddle the analog / digital divide : "It's gonna be HUUGE .."

Ooh, awesome! Gotta ask, does da monitor fit thru da platen?

Actually, I'm still lookin' fer a...

I use the Logitech Trackman Marble Trackball mouse and I've used it for about 15 years now. Or to be more accurate, I've used about 6 of them in that time and just ordered another. It's the buttons that eventually fail rather than the trackball. The trackball can be easily popped out, without tools, to clean the ball, the contacts and the optical window.

What I like best is that the mouse is stationary. I like to clutter my desk and really appreciate not having to move a mouse around on it. What I like second best is the quick and easy cleaning.

Rain most of the time since early Monday morning and there's no end in sight. Very hard rain at times. In weather like this I think of the letter carriers who are on foot, since I had a walking route for many years before I retired. Hardest delivery day ever was the day that Hurricane Floyd hit in 1999... it was completely impossible to keep everything from getting soaked that day, with about 15 inches of rain falling in one day. Things only got worse after that first day... long story... not a whole lot of fun in this part of NC. These are photos taken (by the city of Rocky Mount, where I carried mail) in the days after the flood. http://www.rockymountnc.gov/floydphotoalbum.html

Well, took this song seriously I guess:

I use the same mouse but I need another getting tired of unplugging and taking it upstairs to use on my other computer.

I'm curious how far the Keyboard chatter will go .. and, you can't derail a thread that's essentially stream of consciousness anyway ..
