I use the Logitech Trackman Marble Trackball mouse and I've used it for about 15 years now. Or to be more accurate, I've used about 6 of them in that time and just ordered another. It's the buttons that eventually fail rather than the trackball. The trackball can be easily popped out, without tools, to clean the ball, the contacts and the optical window.

What I like best is that the mouse is stationary. I like to clutter my desk and really appreciate not having to move a mouse around on it. What I like second best is the quick and easy cleaning.

Rain most of the time since early Monday morning and there's no end in sight. Very hard rain at times. In weather like this I think of the letter carriers who are on foot, since I had a walking route for many years before I retired. Hardest delivery day ever was the day that Hurricane Floyd hit in 1999... it was completely impossible to keep everything from getting soaked that day, with about 15 inches of rain falling in one day. Things only got worse after that first day... long story... not a whole lot of fun in this part of NC. These are photos taken (by the city of Rocky Mount, where I carried mail) in the days after the flood. http://www.rockymountnc.gov/floydphotoalbum.html

Well, took this song seriously I guess:

I'm glad you can stay warm & dry now, Bells. Unless cold & wet is your thing, of course, then by all means...[emoji106]

Trump? I think he calls steampunk "LOOSAAS"

Went with the optical mouse years ago, for that very reason, Slots. No ball, no roller. They do come both wired and wireless.
Yep, wireless optical for me, please!.

It wasn't cold that day. Yes, cold and wet is worse than warm and wet. Painwise, the absolute worst weather is a 33 degree rain, much worse than a 5 degree blizzard.

I've actually read the same process as Gary, but never tried it.

Just make sure the dryer is on gentle :pop:
Some dryers have a flat rack and will dry without rotating. It's for drying hats and high dollar tennis shoes and such. Probably would work just fine drying a keyboard.

Little rant, not vape mail but how does a 2-3 day priority package spend 5 days in cali. and isn't found until I gripe out to usps asking why it's just sitting on it's behind and not moving? All of a sudden it's fast tracked to Fla.? I ordered this on the 21 st and it finally showed up today. I hope no one expects positive feedback. Shipper will get an earful for not following up and the post office really doesn't want my opinion of their crappy service.

You really can't blame the shipper. The Post Office is noticeably slow these days. Your complaint to USPS and the package heading to FL immediately afterwards may well be nothing but a coincidence. It's possible but not highly likely that somebody went and found the package and got it correctly routed. It had probably been missent by the USPS to a bulk mail center. I don't know whether there are still fire conditions in CA that slow down the mail.

Fantastic cover.

Wow! A nice surprise!
Speaking of covers .. last night on "The Voice", this young woman just knocked me out with this new take on an old Cheap Trick classic ..

When music is playing in the background so often, we get used to it and take it for granted. But, when we stop and really listen to someone who sings like this, . . . .

Especially when face-to-face, a good singer can always bring me to tears. But, so can a very good violinist or any other really good musician.

well her cheap trick cover was WAY better then The cover of Janis's take a piece of my heart. Faith Hill should be smacked with a frying pan for butchering that song. of coarse many years ago thre was an attemp at covering it and everyone kept calling the radio station asking for the original , Janis's version until the station quit playing the cover. Some songs should be left alone unless you can put your naked soul into the feeling of the song. Of course live at budakan was the best ver

Well, Janis version was a cover as well, it was originally done by Irma Franklin, Aretha's sister .. and I think it was Faith Hill and/or Melissa Etheridge that later did covers .. an example, once again, where Black Soul adapted by White Singers went on to become a hit .. not slamming Janis version, just saying ..

Disclaimer : I didn't pull that from memory, but I did know Janis version was a cover ..

Since we're on the topic of keyboards and now on music, I just had an 'aha' moment..as I was listening to the music, I was resting my finger on the up/down arrows and inadvertently depressed the 'down' arrow and the volume went...well.....down.

I did not know that the up/down arrows on my keyboard controlled the volume.
