Older Folks and Vaping Back Porch - Part Seven

Oh, Boy! I have a pre op appointment next week, with surgery planned for Dec. 18. If you get there ahead of me, would you let me know how it works out.

My inclination is to go for distance and use glasses for close up work. That will probably mean wearing glasses whenever I'm not driving, but no way can I afford the type IOC that is somewhat focusable.

When I get closer to the date, would it be okay if I contact you - on the off chance you get the surgery before I do?

It's not like it was when we were kids, Nermal. Wife has had both eyes done, on separate appointments. Office visit only, no blindfolds and hospital stay any more.

First one, I think she blinked a few times after, and then started enjoying better vision. Second one, she did have a "scratchy" feeling for a few days, then that cleared up and no problems since.

Seems to be about as rough as a flu shot, even though the mere thought of them cutting on the eye is petty spooky.

They'd have to knock me out. I always had to wear hard contacts. My eyes were too dry for soft lenses. I couldn't put them in straight, I had to look away & put them on the white of my eye, then hold it still, h look straight & they would pop on. I tried h tried to just put them in the other way & just gagged everytime. No clue why.

How odd. I just did a mental inventory and don't recall any ex wives with any kind of name that sounds like Kenna. I admit, I'm totally irresponsible when I'm asleep.

Happy Thanksgiving Porch Dwellers!

BBQ'ed on the back patio in 44°F temps and 25 MPH Winds tonight but was vaping!

Everybody got their turkeys thawed out and ready for tomorrow.

Ha Ha - we are not cooking this year - we did not have any takers on guests this year - most are working on Thanksgiving (first time in several years we did not get a few takers) so we are accepting an invite from one of our good friends of over 20 years.

We are having our turkey dinner with friends and family at our house on Sunday afternoon when everybody is off from work. The people that are having to work on Thanksgiving are very happy that they still get to enjoy a fresh turkey dinner even if it is not actually on Thanksgiving.

One problem with the arrangement is - will I be burned out on turkey by the time we get to cooking ours - I am sure we will be provided leftovers from several sources and it will be hard to turn them down.

Well the true purpose of this post was to wish all of ya'll a great day tomorrow and hope you have a great day celebrating with a fine meal. And those that are not cooking - I hope you are still finding a good hot meal somewhere - if not come over on Sunday - you are welcome.

Family Thanksgiving is at a niece's again this year. I did order a Crackerbarrel Thanksgiving feast for Mom & I at home since there are never any leftovers from the family functions, & we miss having the leftovers.

Icm asking for prayers j good thoughts for my Mom tonight, please. Shecs fallen 4 times since Monday morning. Suddenly her legs are too weak to hold her up. Finally reached a point tonight that I couldn't get her up. I called 911 & sent her to the ER. Her bp has been fine, even with the falls. My sister met them at the hospital. She has a massive UTI. It's behind the weakness & recent confusion issues. I can't go see her because of my issues with walking. They've admitted her & have her on iv antibiotics. I don't expect her home until Monday. UTI's are bad news for seniors so be aware, they can cause many problems.

Never heard of no leftovers - must be a biggggggg crowd...

Between family & friends & inlaws there were 30 people for Christmas last year. No even a gerkin remained! And there's always 2 tables, in kitchen island, & all the counter space covered in food. The kids make sure they get plates made for Mom & I before anyone dives in when we can't go. I have a great loving family!
