Good morning BP!!
Good morning people! It's only 19 outside so I'm staying in.

I'd bought a pressure cooker a few months ago and am finally going to learn to use it today by making a pot of chicken soup. My DIL got an Instant Pot for Christmas and my son made potato soup in it that was delicious. it got me inspired. I want to try beef stew next.
Chicken soup sounds perfect for today. The pressure cookers of today a lot easier, although I've never used one.
Everyone is still battling the cold and we are too, however, on a much lower level!

The farmers in Ga (at least in our area) are saying that the cold weather has been just enough to greatly reduce the bug population, which will help the crops quite a bit next year.

Oh indeed, and methinks that the mosquito population will be a bit scarce this year along with some other critters!

I was concerned about the cold weather without snow cover, and its hazards to plant life. However, I just read an article about how it may be affecting noxious insects, and that is good news.

It can take out as many bugs as it wants. That is one of the advantages of living in a more northern area - each year the bug population has the weather keeping them under control.

We are getting snow tonight and our highs will be in the low 30's tomorrow - first time in a few years. Next year should definitely have a lower bug population.

Yea, they don't get annual practice driving in snow around here. I have lived in places where we had 10 ft of snow and easily 3-4 ft in one day. I have no problem driving in it, but I do fear all of the other cars on the road...

We had two deaths on I-75 last night. From what I understand - two cars had a fender bender on the icy roads - a third car hit them while they were looking at the damage to their cars on the side of the highway...

I read about that. How awful:(. Why do people insist on trying to drive on icy roads?

Part (only part) of the problem is "southern" areas, those that don't get snow often, don't have the equipment /knowledge to deal with it. The other part is the people don't learn to drive in it.

I grew up and learned to drive in a southern suburb of Chicago. Hubby grew up in NY and learned to drive there. People born/raised in the south don't have many opportunities to learn to drive in the mess. So it becomes a bigger mess!
