I am sewing for myself for the first time in years. I recently gave up on the uniform I have used for years, jeans and t-shirts. Switching to leggings and long tops. Jeans bind so bad at my waist (adding to pain in my back), and leggings help with diminished sensation in my lower legs. I can still use my t-shirts with long tops open at the front, though.

I found you at DP.
I love leggins and long topsfor around the house!

Reading the posts about putting in zippers had me thinking about a time when my husband, jealous of all the sewing I did for my daughter and stepdaughter, insisted I make him a pair of pants. Do you know how many little pieces go into the fly of a pair of men's pants??!!! Never again!! Any other zipper application is a breeze next to that...;)

Most likely because France was the center of fashion for centuries...;) A great many sewing techniques and tools. fabrics and laces came from there. A set of French curve rulers is essential for drafting patterns to sew garments....

French seams are still the nicest way to have a finished seam...:) And then there is French Heirloom sewing...a method of creating a fine rolled hem on pieces of batiste while joining it to lace insertion at the same time... been there...done that...and you definitely have to keep washing your hands while doing it. The chalk would have helped...;)

Beautiful! You have a wonderful talent.
My mother was a great seamstress. One thing she did was making clothes for my sisters Barbie dolls. She made a lot of my sisters' formals and such for school events. I really loved the shirts she made for me. She even made my oldest sisters wedding dress.
When I was a parachute rigger, the hardest thing I had to do was repair parachutes. Working with the ripstop nylon used in the parachutes was a witch to work with. That is one thing I don't miss doing. LOL

I went to Snopes, prepared to post a link showing that the Singer article was a modern fabrication. Nope! Singer actually published that trash. Some people actually WERE that backward in 1949! Advice from a 1949 Singer Sewing Manual

I was listening to some great music on my way to the grocery yesterday, on WUNC radio, on a show called Back Porch Music. Here's are three of the songs. Just great stuff.

By the way, as long as Aldi sells packages of chocolate mint cookies for $0.95, I don't have to worry that my waist will get too small for my britches.

Yeah I don't think that about him really he just didn't realize I wasn't on Tri Care. He changed and put me on 40mg of omeprazol twice a day. He doesn't know me from Adam. I only actually talked to him maybe on the outside 5 min before they knocked me out and he doesn't even see you after the procedure the nurse just hands you his operative report. Plus the girl that is taking the regular girls place thats regular who is really nice and knows just what you are saying, this one is I would say from the mid east by her accent and she doesn't seem to have a clue of how insurance works or how to deal with the VA I had to give her the phone number so she could find out how to fax them an Rx. I obviously don't know but I had the pharmacy number for her. If she doesn't get it done this one is cheap. I've done a lot of reading about the prescription and it does the same thing as omeprazol (wow finally spelled it right) its just that it has a time release effect and some of it kicks in 5-6hrs after the first dose. I think its just BP ripping people off again.

Yeah I don't think that about him really he just didn't realize I wasn't on Tri Care. He changed and put me on 40mg of omeprazol twice a day.
Omeprazole is the same as Prilosec, and it is available over the counter. Even at the very high dose of 80 mg per day, it would cost you less than $50 per month to buy it on Amazon, or from Costco. I'm not saying it's the right med for you; all I'm saying is that it wouldn't cost $300 a month.

Yeah I pay $6 for 90 days worth with my Plan D and free through the VA so its not a problem. The one he prescribed is not in the formulary for either my Plan D or the VA

I deleted this because I wrote it on my worst day of reducing. My doc told me these last steps would be the hardest and I still have a few to go through. I'm still in a lot of pain but it is getting a little better.

I wrote to my doctor/friend and he said what is happening in this country is not right and he doesn't agree with it. He said the govt is trying to make them into criminals if they prescribe them, and they are blaming it on the doctors. He said he doesn't agree at all and thinks the govt is the problem not the doctors.

I just hope my doc can give them to me till I get down below the limit they have set, which is a ways. I cannot imagine what people are going through that are like me that just get cutoff. It would be enough to put you on a bad road and I could see how people could OD by getting hold of something supposedly to help and it's fake with something else in it and they are gone.

Well I've cut my pain meds by 30 MED. Hey Hey I'm getting just like the govt wants. I can barely walk or get up the stairs. My chest hurts constantly along with my arms and hips. It's wonderful they know whats best for me. So thats a total of 150 MED since I started and feel worse each time I cut more. Still a long ways to go. I'll be a total invalid by then. Just like the govt wants.

{{{{Patrick}}}} I wish we were in the same room together because I'd love to give you and Ginny a big hug.
