@Janet H I've been looking at the Instant Pot to use as slowooket, pressure cooker and yogurt maker. As vegetarians we eat a lot of beans and I wore out a pressure cooker cooking them. I've also been making grerk yogurt for many years and my yogort maker is getting old. My slow cooker still works great but it,s at least 30 years old and I use it a lot. So I'm thinking one of these days I may need three new appliances.

Tell me how you like it please.

I have the pressure cooker and my son has the Instant Pot. The Instant Pot would probably be better for you because you can't use the pressure cooker as a slow cooker so you can't make yogurt in it. I'll have to check with my son and see if he's had time to make anything else in his pot and let you know.

Here you go.

All season suet

2 cups each oats and cornmeal
1 cup each PB, flour, shortening
Melt the PB and shortening and mix with the rest and freeze.

I use those blue plastic containers in which mushrooms come at the grocery store. One of those makes a suet cake the right size for the suet feeder.

Thank you so much! I'm out of shortening and cornmeal at the moment, but I'll be making this very soon. You don't mix any seeds in it?

I mixed safflower seeds in mine to discourage the squirrels.

I also purchased a new bird feeder...this one....and put black sunflower seeds in it, and the squirrels tried their darnest to get to it, but quickly gave up on it. I also have safflower seeds in a standard bird feeder and the squirrels totally stay away from that.

This is how I've kept squirrels and raccoons from reaching the feeders for almost 20 years. The bells are attached to the 8" stove pipes with L brackets. The left and right setups are held on the posts with an electrical ground clamp. On the middle feeder the stove pipe has a cap screwed on its top and the feeder is screwed on to that.

The right side of the left and the right feeders is where my two suet feeders are hanging. I have a bell atop the right one and a plant saucer atop the left one to keep the crows from landing on the suet feeders and devouring the entire thing in minutes!

I keep sunflowers in the little green feeder and in the white one and mixed seed in the middle one. We made the white one out of an empty protein powder container and a plant saucer. We built the middle feeder from a recycled piece of teak. The roof is from a scrap piece of sheet metal.

Another wonderful thing happened today - Geordi is now CH Bijou Luisant Kontinuing Mission, CA, TKN, CGC!! Yep, he won a 3 point major to finish (he needed 3 points)!!! Sincere thanks to his breeder for showing him to all his points. She gets special recognition for finishing a dog in Bred by Exhibitor classes. Today he won Best Bred by in breed and went on to win a Bred by Exhibitor Herding Group 3!! Shows don't always offer Bred by groups, and since he is no longer in the regular classes with earning his championship, this was his last hurrah in Bred by. It was a special day for both his breeder and me. I can show him now!

As we were leaving the show site it started pouring rain, so the timing was perfect!

professional pics to come....

Wahoooooooooo!!!!!!! That's so wonderful. What a great dog he is. So happy for him, you and his breeder!

Actually, after the dinner I made him last night he thinks he's being rewarded! I'm not worried though. His turn will be coming...

The dinner was Bacon, Cream Cheese, Cheddar Chicken. Wow! So easy and delicious! I made the bacon ahead of time so that helped with the prep. Put 2 pounded boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the pan that you cooked the bacon in (after pouring off most of the bacon grease). Sprinkle on a little salt and pepper. Dot some sliced cream cheese over the chicken, sprinkle on the crumbled bacon and top it all with about a cup of grated cheddar cheese. Bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. If you like the cheese crispy on top you can stick it under the broiler for a minute or 2 or I just sprinkled some paprika on it. DELICIOUS! Will definitely be making this again.

Meanwhile, the eye has been coming along just fine except today it's bothering me. Might just be the dry eye problem. I can still feel the stitch in there somewhat, but that's going away. The vision is good, but things look whiter to me. Guess I'm used to seeing the world in sepia. The procedure itself is much easier than I thought, it's just a pain remembering to do all these drops! I'm glad I only have 2 eyes.
sounds yummy! Hope yur savin that bacon grease yur pourin off :D

Was the eye surgery for cataracts? Dunno if I missed that, or just forgot. Glad it's doing well and hope the discomfort goes away quickly

Just a few quick postettes...

Patty's still very gradually losing strength. I'm starting to have minor physical challenges in tending to her as I deem safe and neccessary. Foresee a major life style change not all that far in our future.

Great to 'hear' from Deba again!

Do miss soooo many folk here (ah, da fond memories)!!!

Finally got a really kick-azz refurb 'PUTER (fer moi) wid my reward card point$. Now I can get lost a lot easier/faster on da web dan I did before! Had to turn Corina off, in dat I only need one wife! Almost got all my ol' stuff on board...

Luv y'all!!! Stay healthy/safe and still prayin' fer y'all...
It's hard to hear this about you & Patty, Iffy. Prayers up, tho!

Glad you got a new 'puter!

Things do seem brighter and more sharp. That feeling of something in the eye is what I felt also, but that dissipates as time goes on. Actually, the vision actually gets more concise and clearer as time goes by, too!

Six weeks post cataract surgery, I'm feeling the same. It's still improving, but that whole eye still feels like a foreign body. It was a month before I could get a new lens prescription. My left eye is so good for distance, it makes my right eye look bad, and that's the one I used for driving.

Regretfully, my left eye used to be good enough for reading. Not no more!

TBH, I'm somewhat puzzled with Janet and Nermal's continued 'healing'. Within two weeks of my second cataract surgery, GTG!

Was absolutely amazed and so impressed with my vision improvements; especially night time driving. In fact, just renewed my DL without any eye-glasses restriction, EVER!

Do hope any residual irritation will diminish shortly...

Can't speak for 'Nermal' obviously ... but Janet's procedure was only done last week. Still in the drops four times a day phase of the healing.

OMG, I had totally forgotten about the much improved night time driving....
I had stopped driving at night, and my first time out I was amazed and so happy.

And, yes, the DL was a real eye opener.......pun intended. No glasses needed.
What I wear for driving in the daytime are dark sunglasses with the bifocal lens.
A true gift, this surgery was!

I want cataract surgery if I could give up my progressive lens. It'd be nice not to have to point my noise at what I want to see.

I stick with lined, trifocal. Don't have to move my head nearly as much. My first, bi's, were progressive, and yup, nose to see anything. But when your head is inside live 480 switchboards (hard to troubleshoot with the power off... or no way to turn it off without also turning it off to about 20,000 users!), that wasn't always an option, so went lined from then on.

No regerts. :)

Might have to consider trifocals the next time around. Now that my prescription is more powerful magnification I have a side effect ... distortion ... if I look at a square or rectangle ... it's more like looking at a trapezoid.

@Iffy ... how are things down at the office? Haven't heard any 'office' stories from you in a while.

Well, my Elbert the Egret is still hangin' 'round. It's him; note the ceremonial paint twix his bill and eyes <sigh>...
