Patrick, my mom had the identical condition the final 20 years or so of her life. Benign tumor on her thyroid. It never caused her any problems. She did take thyroxin for years. I hope Ginny has the same luck.
Well we are hoping. She has one on her thyroid and one on her parathyroid. That's all we know so far. So more doctors appts.

My sister died in an auto accident last night.
That is just plain terrible. I hope that if you travel to Texas, you do so safely. In fact, if you walk across the room, I hope you can do so safely... I'm not at all sure I could.

Two weeks ago I went to renew my auto registration at DMV, only to find out that I was required to get the vehicle inspected BEFORE renewing the registration. I don't know if the order of events had changed, or if I just remembered wrong. By the time I got out of DMV it was closing within 10 minutes, so there was no point in going to get a vehicle inspection.

Today, even though I still had a full 7 months left before my registration and vehicle inspection were 2 years overdue, I told myself that I might as well get it done ahead of time. So I went and got the inspection and then, inspection certification in hand, went to DMV and renewed my registration. Then I stopped at the best pizza place in town, planning to get a couple slices and a coke. But they don't do individual slices after 4 PM, so I got a whole pie to go. Pulled into a vacant lot (a closed Texas Steak House restaurant) and ate half the pie. Went to Aldi's and got groceries. Came home. The end.

The above true story passes for humor in my house.
