I have been re-living her last moments. I need to go to the family photo album and remember.
That is just plain terrible. I hope that if you travel to Texas, you do so safely. In fact, if you walk across the room, I hope you can do so safely... I'm not at all sure I could.

This is the simplest recipe I found in a quick search online, but my mom's was even simpler. Mom would just spread some Philadelphia Cream Cheese onto a slice of white bread, use a paring knife and her thumb as a blade stop to put a layer of pimento-stuffed olive slices directly onto the cheese, and add a second slice of bread.
Cream Cheese and Olives - A Southern Soul

What brought on this memory? A jar of pimento-stuffed olives that I bought at Aldi yesterday. I have no cream cheese and no white bread but I do have mozzarella string cheese and whole wheat bread, should the urge become irresistible.

Good morning Bea. It looks like a beautiful sunny day, but it's downright chilly out there.

8 (on 0-10 scale) all the time. It makes me subject to loss of balance, trips, and falls because I can't feel my feet (because normal sensation is swamped by the pain). It also makes me cranky sometimes.
so sorry you (and others) have to deal with such awful pain all the time. Mine isn't a constant 8 but mostly only cuz of the opioids. If the insurance approves it, I'll hopefully be starting water therapy soon.

Every time I have an appointment with my Pain Management Doctor he asks if I keep my meds locked up.
Mine hasn't done that, but they've recently begun asking if folks take more of meds than they should, or have sold or given meds to anyone, and something else that I don't recall. Really? I really wanna answer, well no, but if I ever did I sure as hell wouldn't be dumb enough to tell y'all.

Now that is done I have clearance to do something about my back. Woohooooo!
wahooooooooo!!!

Well more great news for us. Ginny had a test yesterday and she has a tumor on her thyroid. They said it was benign, don't know how they can tell that, she did have a nuclear test of some kind yesterday to check her arteries. So who knows.
glad it's benign.

glad you're home! I do miss white castles.

My sister died in an auto accident last night.
((((((((((Mary))))))))))) I'm so sorry darlin! Such a shock. We're here for you sweetie!
That was about an hour from me, maybe a little less.

kewl, I love green olives, and that sounds really good!

I forgot... also available to me were Lance Cream Cheese and Chives Captain's Crackers. One whole pimento-stuffed olive atop each of 6 crackers was pretty good, and I can do it again if desired.
Jup those are great! I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the Lance company. When I lived in Galveston and worked with the marine mammal stranding network, there was a live stranding of a rough toothed dolphin. The team went out to get the animal, and on the way back the truck broke down. This was before cell phones. The guy who stocked the lance snacks at the park recognized the truck and stopped to help. when he found out the dolphin was in it, he didn't hesitate........he made room in his truck, and transported the dolphin to the park. He could have lost his job for doing that since all the snacks had to be tossed, but the dolphin would have died sitting there on the side of the road. We named the dolphin Lance of course.

Now I've got a soft spot for Lance myself, thanks to that story! Have you ever considered writing to Lance customer service or advertising department and telling them about it?

We make a spread like that, but it has a Tbsp of mayo in it. Makes it spread easier. We have it at holiday times & put tiny bread slices & shaved ham with it.

@bigbells, watching my new fav commercial & thought of you. Have you seen the Arby's Gyros commercial?

Yep, I saw it for the first time on Sunday afternoon. Although I seldom indulge, I do enjoy their ads. The sodium content in Arby's sandwiches is ridiculous, and in my opinion, there's no good reason to use that much. The meats would be just as good with less salt.
