Is this what you're getting done? And so, I went in to town today. 1st stop was to pick up my jaw scan that shows I have too much bone loss in my upper jaw to place new implants without first having a sinus lift/bone grafts. The place that did the scan doesn't do sinus lifts, so the purpose of me getting a copy of the scan (they put it on CD) is to send or take it to the place I'm going to that does do sinus lifts and bone grafts. I was so hoping that I could get all steps taken care of in Rocky Mount, but nope, there isn't a soul in town who does that kind of surgery. Therefore I'll be going to the Big City, Raleigh.
While they were making the CD copy, I picked their brains and told them about how I'd been diagnosed with osteoporosis and given an Rx for alendronate. They informed me that bone surgery, particularly in the jaw, was contraindicated for people taking alendronate. I asked if that was because of the condition, the medicine, or both, and they said the medicine.
So, I called my doctor's office and left a message that I wasn't going to start taking the alendronate until checking out the possibility of getting the sinus lift/bone graft surgery. If I'm a viable candidate for the surgery, I'll get the surgery, wait months for it to heal, get the implants, wait more months for healing, THEN start taking the medicine.
2nd stop was to get the failing A/C in my car checked. I got it recharged, with dye, and will take it back in a week or three so that the shop can see where it's leaking. For now, the A/C is working fabulously again with the recharge. It took a fair amount of time for the Freon to all leak out in the first place. If proper repair will be super expensive, I just might go buy a newer used Forester and trade this one in while the A/C is still going strong. We'll see... I haven't decided what number would make me hesitate to get the A/C fixed.
The 3rd errand on my trip to town was going to be to the drug store, but that trip was now not urgent so I skipped it.
Fourthly, I stopped at Sheetz and got a sub. My brother's coming to visit Thursday so I also got some seltzer water because that's what he likes to drink.
If somebody else had posted this, would I have read the whole thing? Prolly not, so you're definitely off the hook.
When we moved to Florida 4 years ago, the service I was sorriest to leave behind was our mechanic! A really honest, nice guy whom we got to know well through the years…over 15.I cannot seriously consider ever moving. Why? Because I have something rarer than hen's teeth: a car repair shop that I trust. I don't care whether they do it intentionally or not, but the final price is ALWAYS lower than the price they estimate up front. If it's a gimmick it is a fantastic one. They also do excellent work. Carolina Tire in Rocky Mount NC can't be beat. I've been going to them for decades.
...And four-armed is half an octopus, and who wants to be that?Forewarned is forearmed.
No. If I have the procedure done, it will be in the more conventional fashion. Time advantages to alternate procedures are truly inconsequential to me... I'm not in a hurry, and differences of 35 minutes in the surgeon's chair or a couple of months in post-surgical recovery are meaningless. Is this what you're getting done?

very glad you've really lowered alcohol consumption and fats etc. The D may help with some of your pain. I've been taking atorvastatin for a couple years and haven't noticed any muscle pain, but then again with the other stuff causin me pain, I likely wouldn't notice some additional muscle painWell, my doctor's office called on Friday with my blood test results. They told me my LDH is ridiculously high and my Vitamin D is ridiculously low. I immediately reduced my alcohol consumption drastically, because I think my drinking is the prime cause of the bad cholesterol level. Today, I went and got my bone density test, then picked up the prescriptions that the doctor had faxed in to my pharmacy on Friday.
Two of the prescriptions are cholesterol-lowering drugs but I only took the Ezetimibe. The other cholesterol-lowering drug is a statin and I'm going to take my chances on not taking it, then see how my cholesterol levels are when I get re-tested 2 months from now. The 3rd Rx is 50,000 unit Vitamin D2 like Legs was talking about last week. that I'm to take one a week. (4 capsules is a 4 week supply).
Soooooooooo glad you saw her and she was able to help y'all get with someone else. I can't believe someone would think that a 70% blockage is no biggieThe new cardiologist is a little further away but has a great reputation and is a specialist in what they call Interventional Cardiology. So we have an appointment with him next week.
Hope she does fine til then, and that she and the baby will have no issues!Well my pregnant Gdaughter will be having her baby May 11th. She is due June 4th but she has something called Placenta Previa so if she doesn't start bleeding before that they will do a Cesarean on that day. Also on Jacob, her husbands, birthday and hers is the 22nd.
wow.......I've been on 40 mg a day for a couple years.FWIW ... I've been on atorvastatin for a couple years and haven't noticed any side effects. Started at 10mg and now doing 20mg's a day.
I didn't know this so I looked it up cuz I take mine in the afternoon. If I recall correctly, I think I may have been takin it with evening pills, likely cuz they told me to, but then later forgot and put it with afternoon pills, cuz I was falling asleep a lot without taking my last pills of the day. Anyhow, this says that for some that is the case, cuz they have a short 1/2 life but some can be taken even in the morning. It says that the cholesterol making enzyme is more active at night, so that's why that was always the case before. All statins have to be taken at night
hehehe I did that with my son the year he was deployed. I had to be on his account to pay the bills. My BD was earlier in the month and the DH asked me what he bought me. He's used to me finding something, showing it to him and saying Thank You! LOL.
hope y'all have a great visit. Also hope you get great new teefers ever how ya do it. Really would love to get something good done with mine, even though I get physically ill just walking into a dentist's office. My brother's coming to visit Thursday
are you ok?I spent five hours in the emergency room on Thursday night
dunno but my quit counter disappeared, so if it was a counter, they may have gotten rid of some of themwhat happened to my signature AGAIN?
I would kind of expect that, unless there was no way to dx the real issue without replacing that part.Get this…one time hubs took his car in and Dan replaced a part he thought was the cause of the problem. When that turned out not to ve the cause of the problem he put the old part back in and didn't charge DH for the labor. He then proceeded to look for and find the real problem!!!

My Mom was taking Clopedigril as an emergency bp med. It lowers your bp really fast. I mean REALLY fast. I took it a couple of times when my bp syatted getting very high. It does make you sleepy. She has other meds she was taking & it was just for when it got beyond what her other meds were doing. She had a stroke 9 years ago because her bp got too high because she refused to take her meds right, if at all. So the Clopedigril was to get it down quick to keep her from another stroke. It's all under control now so she's off it.That's kind of interesting. I have two pill minder boxes - before breakfast and before the last meal of the day. Keeps things simple and seems to work pretty well.
Since you mentioned falling asleep, I got a question. I've been on Atorvastatin and Clopidogrel since a stroke a couple of years ago. I've been tired ever since. Does either of these have the reputation of making a person tired?

Now, just a minute, there. I also have two inhalers: Symbicort and albuterol. Sometimes, I'm so slow in the mornings I use the albuterol long before the Symbicort. Symbicort requires rinsing the mouth after taking, and I'm not always to the challenge at that time of day.I have found that if I get up and do something anyway I feel a lot better and not so tired anymore.
Beautiful babies! They've changed so much already!A smilably good pic of my grand-nephew and grand-niece, who are now 2.5 months old.View attachment 738699

What's not to like about it when she has her sense of humor about her? Self pity is a killer. You win, lulu, but I'm not going to 'like' it.
