Our little dove is back on her nest - or what passes for a nest in the dove world. Yesterday it looked like she might have abandoned it. Wonder if she's laid an egg because she's very still.
As bad as Irma was for the folks who live in the Keys it was much harder on the animals. The iguana population here was pretty much wiped out, but evidently most of the Key Deer made it
through. There used to be lots of raccoons around, but we haven't seen even one of them so far. There are still destroyed homes and structures to be seen, but the clean up is progressing very well.
I always wondered about so many of the palm trees that were ringed with boards to prop them up. Yesterday I was told that those were the new plantings and they leave the supporting boards on for 2 years. It's a wonder so many of them survived the storms.
