Older Folks and Vaping Back Porch - Part Seven

So, was the decision unanimous, was it split, or did you not care what was best by the time you were finished?

That particular session it was very close, but two of the wines shared top honors and everybody agreed that it was close.

I must have missed my invite. We were out of town yesterday... Looks like there's some leftovers - I'll be right over.

It was actually several years ago (can't you tell by how young I look?) but I didn't have such a good picture from any recent tastings.

Great vidio, Bells. I enjoyed the music, it brought back a good memory when I was growing up. We had a next-door neighbor who used to play the piano at the local theater. She knew all of the music for the old silent films. She was a bit of a drinker and when she got half snockered she would start playing all of the old film's music. I enjoyed sitting on the front porch listening to her playing her piano.

Well tomorrow is the day we find out a little more. He hasn't taken a Pet Scan yet, don't know if the results are back on the tests yet or will be tomorrow so he really can't tell us sheet. I am so freaked out I can't even think. I can get up to do something and forget by the time I stand up. Can't sleep past 4, in my chair I get another hour or so if I take a tranq. My prosthetics hurt on the right, lost 3 more pounds. My PCP at the VA quit and they gave me to a PA in Boise Idaho. Probably because of cuts thanks The VA won't cover hand controls because they came up with a new cost saving measure that the amputations have to be service related. Probably they cost $1600 and they would have to do it for every Group4 vet with no legs.

Ginny on the other hand is in a good mood which I am also at least for show purposes. I am just hoping and praying that this is in an early stage and it hasn't spread anywhere else, which we won't find out till they do a Pet Scan.

More bad news. The doctor said he is afraid she is in the later stages of cancer. I twisted my knee last night and can barely walk so she went by herself to get a pet scan. I gotta get this knee to start working again.

He said that at this stage if it hasn't spread they will use radiation and chemotherapy if it has just chemo. No other alternatives. The pet scan will tell the whole story but it doesn't sound good. How long she has depends on this scan. He put her in right from the appointment for an iron infusion because her iron was low. We have an appointment on Monday and he will give us the news then. She has to have another iron infusion again on Wed. So it doesn't sound good either way.

This is a terrible time for me to hurt my knee. It doesn't hurt except to stand on it. Nothing broken I'm sure but can't hardly walk. The spot I hurt hits the prosthetic but I'm hoping will be a lot better by Monday appointment or at least it better be.

So far she is feeling ok. I think she is still in denial and it scares me when all of this finally hits her. There is no surgery at the present that would help. He said he will be able to tell us approx how long she has on Monday. Seems as tho the only good news we can hope for now is that it is localized to her chest, if you can call that good news. Or maybe it is a slow growing cancer because the test results were not back yet on the cells.

Dang Pat, I'm so sorry to hear that this is happening. Even with your knee messed up, you need to go to her appointments. She will need your support. Could you have a neighbor drive both of you to her appointment? Having gone through this is why I know she will need you with her at the appointment. That is definitely where she needs you. Did I mention you need to be with her? Love and prayers for both you and Ginny.

Oh, Legs. Give Ginny hugs & please tell her we are praying & thinking of her. You've both been through so much & been so strong & courageous through it all. Ice that knee, Bubba, so it will be ok on Monday.
