Yup, legs. Early diagnosis is essential, and so much easier nowadays. Mine is stage 0. I guess the standard rating system required that they back up to the null number. However, cell type is three, which means it is aggressive, and at risk of breaking out of the duct system into richly nourished tissue.

Man I didn't believe how tired I was. Been sleeping all morning. I'm glad she is tired too said again not to come up she is in too much pain. They had just given her some morphine so probably sleeping again. The nurse said they are trying to leave her alone as much as possible to let her sleep.

I have breast cancer. Yesterday they gave me two options; lumpectomy followed by radiation, and mastectomy with or without reconstruction. After substantial talking with others and information-gathering, I am strongly leaning towards option 2, suboption a. Radiation would involve a massive disruption in my lifestyle, with five days a week trips to the city for three weeks. It is more likely to cause nerve damage, and I have enough of that. More information available at FB.
Mary this is a shock. But it sounds like you caught it early. Option B mean no radiation or chemo I assume? Are you getting a second opinion? I would go for option B too but without reconstruction.

Do all ladies here do self-check breast exams? I know that's the way to catch it really early. I'm so bad about that. I don't. I'm starting now.

One advantage of doctoring with Mayo is that they are constantly checking each other's work. It is very early. They believe that reconstruction would be better for me because of my history of depression. Not just an issue of vanity.

and for other news...

The DH goes in for his triple bypass on Wed., Nov. 21st. The doc is leaving today for a conference in Milan so that was the first available date to have him do the surgery. He gave us the option of having another surgeon on staff do it if we wanted it done sooner. The doc said because his condition is stable, and as long as he behaves (ha!), we can wait.

In the meantime, we've requested the autopsy report from the coroner's office for his sister who died in 1992 when her aneurysm split to find out what size it was. If it was smallish, like his is, they'll fix it while they're in there. If it was large and just un-diagnosed at the time, they probably won't touch it. If it's somewhere in the middle, they may do it or not. UGH. Hopefully, we'll get the report in the next few weeks (it's in the archives somewhere). Having time to get this info is a good reason to delay the surgery, but I wish it had been suggested or we thought to do it sooner.

Oh my ... added to the prayer list. I'd be a mess sitting around and waiting for major surgery. Best wishes keeping you attitude positive during the waiting period.

i thought breast cancer is only rated in stages. Can you explain what "cell type" is please.

Oh, Mary I hope I didn't sound like I thought the reconstruction route is a matter of vanity. What I think is that it's an individual decision of what makes a woman most comfortable with her body.

I didn't go to visit Ginny today. I know she is awake and she is going to call me back. I know she is and going to call me back. Will be there in the morning she was was in a lot of pain and sleeping alot and told me not to come today. I know she is in a lot of pain and has been sleeping most of the day> I had the nurse go and check if she was a wake and she was but they may be doing something cause she is going to call me back. I guess something is up. I feel so sorry for her. Shes on a liquid diet and asked them if they want her to sheet she needs some real food. I did my taxes today and I feel like I made a mistake cause it said I owe 0. Probably going to worry me all night, I did it twice and came out the same so maybe. I hate being audited.

I guess they are different, they were really surprised when it came back that it was in her back. She didn't look as good as she sounded on the phone. Pretty depressed about it. She is only about 60 but her former employer the Catholic Church gave her a reall good policy and are continuing it for her even tho she hasn't worked for at least 3 years.

Oh, Mary, I was so saddened to read your post. I know you have done your research and looks like you have a good handle on what to do.
Best wishes and prayers sent!

Waiting is probably the worst part of all of this! Sounds like it will be worth it, however.

Wasn't aware that you could request an autopsy report for a relative, especially so long ago. How invaluable that will be in determining the procedure process.

Oh, I hear you on the 'if he behaves himself'! Almost have to sit on them!

@Iffy... and Semi and wife as it's headed for Georgia too....:(

Phil and Mrs. Semi had minimal damage; mainly Ma Nature 'pruning' and 3" of rain. He estimated 50 MPH gusts. They did lose power for two days. A neighbor ran an extension cord from a generator to their fridge.

Semi did say that there was some extensive damage 15-20 miles away, both east and west of them.

They are currently preparing for their Philippine 'mission' in mid-November.

Ginny was put in the hosital yesterday. She has an infected bowel. Her WBC was critically low also. I tried to get her to go in to the Cancer Center but she wanted to wait 1 more day. I don't think it would have made any diff any way. Her WBC were nearly non existent. I finally left last night at 9pm she had been in the ER for 6 hours then waiting for a room to get ready. It was so busy they were having to double patients up, its normally all private rooms. So they had to double up the ones that weren't in for any types of infection or susceptible. But Ginny had to be in a private room because of her not fighting infections. Don't know why they were so busy. She got very confused as soon as we got there. She didn't know what year it was. She remembered Trump was president tho. Guess that is unforgettable
Does she have Diverticulitis? Just glad you finally got her there. She's not in any conition to have a normal reaction to things she might usually be able to handle. Don't forget the nurse around the corner!

Oh, Mary! That's the choice I'd make, too, get it over with. Seems there would be less chance of recurrence, too. Prayers are up, Mary!
