So their plan was to fill me up with benadryl and steroids, to the point that trying to stay awake so I could tell them that I couldn't breathe was a joke on me.

On Sunday huh? Did you enjoy it. It doesn't look like a lot of fun to me. Ginny got the Steroids no benadryl tho. She is getting peach fuzz on her head now.She didn't start losing her hair till her 3rd treatment. I think it was. Oh she said she didn't start losing her hair till her 2nd 3 day treatment. She thought just getting it cut short would be good but then she still go bald spots so she gave up. They really load you up with steroids. It would make her hyper. The first treatment didn't give her any problems so she figured that was how it was going to be, wrong. Each treatment got progressively worse. She made it thru 5 or 15 days of treatments before it really hit her. You need to force yourself to eat at least something and preferably something high in protein.

We got about 3" of snow now so guess it will be a white Christmas to eat our Cornish Game Hens. Just another day in Paradise. YeeHaw.

Yup, that was on Wednesday. I'll probably not start losing my hair until mid-jan. I asked for a visit with the dietitian about that kind of stuff, and bought a small blender for smoothies. I was getting ready for dental work when this happened. I was talking with the dietitian while nearly losing consciousness from the benadryl, could barely put one word in front of another. Steroids are also good for pulling people out of allergic reactions..

That's kind of how steroids do me, but also temper flares & insatiable need to eat.

Funny change in events here, Ginny has been worrying about me. I have not been myself for a while now. Just have no interest in anything. Just mope around the house. Just the way I'm feeling lately. Can't seem to pull out of this tailspin. I hate Christmas. One of the worst times of the year for me. Doesn't even seem like anything special just another day that everything is closed. Watching all these people on TV in happy moods and really enjoying life. Oh well this too will pass.

Thats a heck of a way to start off your chemo. What did they do for you, they should've been right on top of that. Wre they going to do some modifications to what they are giving you? That really sucks if they are looking for you to continue. I know there are many types of Chemo so I would think something will need to be done. When is your next one scheduled for. They need to do something. I'm sorry I misunderstood.

I love Cornish Game Hens. When I came home from overseas for Christmas one year, I cooked them at my sister's house.
Let's see how many Christmas's have we spent together. Since I joined in 2009 and it took me about a year before I found this thread so that leaves 8 of them. Wow thats pretty good. I don't remember when this thread came into existence but it was a heck of a good idea. I gotta say it seems like I know you guys better then many of my Real Life friends. So another Merry Christmas to you all. Hopefully this won't be the last. I think Tex was the first one who invited me here. Many thanks to him. We've been through alot of changes and real life circumstances since then. Wish he was still around to see what he created. Heck I hardly do anything without getting the ok from folks here. Even tho we've never met it is an amazing place to go.

Ginny is really busy cause she always makes up a Chistmas Goody Package for the other 4 people that live on our little cul d sac and even with all the other problems she is doing it again this year. Everyone gets a pie, tons of different special cookies they sell at Costco this time of the year you know what I'm talking about they are all real fancy and imported from another country. They really have some good ones that you';; mever see in any other stores. There are some really good types of cookies and candies, and we have a guy that lives with his mom, he is around late 20's early 30's but he has the mentality of someone around 10 or 12. Really nice kid and he is always there to pitch in if we need help with his mom who is a retired nurse. We have 2 nurses on our street out of 5 people here in this very rural area. They were here to help get Ginny downstairs and into the car when I had to put her in the hospital. She always gives him a present and he is so happy. This year she is giving him about 2000 baseball cards all brand new she got at a garage sale. He is really into baseball and I'll bet he will be so excited. Nice kid.

@3mg Meniere How are you feeling. I hope better. When do you have to do it again?? I would think with a reaction like that they would try something different. So So Sorry you had to go through that.I imagine that was a pretty scary time fo you. It definately would have been for me.
