Hi people.
I was just peeking in, but the posts don’t seem to be in order. The years jump around like crazy. I was just going to ask if what is available in the USA has changed, and see if everyone is ok. I’ve been ordering from New Zealand, found a good one.
Love to all, great thanks for long distance sorting out my vaping needs. Now, I’ve got my son vaping, yay, working on my daughter. She has a few more serious issues to take care of, so I’m not pushing it too hard. But my disease progression has definitely slowed down, since my switch. I was supposed to be gone by now....
vape?
Hi! It's wonderful to hear from you! Congratulations on your successes with vaping! I'm so happy you are still with us! How are things down under? And congratulations on converting your kids to vaping. Good for you!

I can't help with new things on the market. I settled in on my choices, stocked up, & haven't bought much for 2 years now. I do buy a commercial juice maybe once a year, but am happy with the one I make & use everyday.

Me I didn't want to go. I never thought the low sodium could do so much. It has been low for at least a couple of years but never thought anything about it, especially not enough to make it so I couldn't function. But I guess it can when it is this low and the surgery put me over the edge like it has. I don't have anyone else to talk about this with like I can with you guys. Talk about airing your dirty laundry.
How exactly did you determine it was that your sodium levels are too low without seeing a doctor? ...

It was a bunch of posts ago that you said...

I don't think you ...... anyone off that is worthwhile. Empathy, compassion, camaraderie, etc. are just something that should be present in our make-up.

Feel very free to write it out here. For me, writing is healthy.

Several years ago, after I started vaping and figured out drinking lots of water helps with vaper tongue and thirst from pg, I had my annual physical (with blood tests) then went out of town. One day I received a phone call from the Dr office - "You must come in right away!!! Dr needs to see you NOW!!". "Well, I am about 3 states away, how am I to accomplish that? Let me speak to the Dr". Dr gets on the phone - "Your serum sodium is extremely low, at 80. Normal is 135-140. Do you feel weak? Memory lapse? Tired? Confused?" Me - "No" Dr "well, you could fall into a coma at any moment". Me - "So what can I do?" Dr - "Add a tsp of salt to your daily intake and you should be OK".

Now, remember, this was several years ago (me younger) and I do not have anyway near the health problems you have. The whole low sodium thing is very serious. I seem to tend to low serum sodium levels I think due to my consumption of water. My latest Dr visit said sodium was low, not dangerous, but on the low side. Dr said to drink some Gatorade regularly (yeck!), but I do. I also add salt to my food, not DH's.

My situation is different than yours, but I when I get dingy or confused, I eat something salty and it seems to help. The serum sodium thing is very real, and I think I can understand your confusion, disorientation, and maybe even some of the depression because of what I have learned about it for me. I am not telling you to eat salt or whatever, just that it is very real and if you are that low it does explain some of your symptoms.

Hopefully your Dr can give you some guidelines to help you stabilize your sodium. You are not alone.

i HAD LAB WORK done. I did see a doctor. I went and saw another doc today, this was the surgeon who did my surgeries. We went and saw him today and verified that I didn't break the other one when I fell the other night. Of course my Gdaughter and Ginny and her were in there and they were ready to ship me off. It's a lot easier for someone else to say " Oh yeah you need to go to the hospital because it wasn't them. I tried to tell them I'm not going in on a Friday afternoon and nothing would happen til Monday anyway. They were really voluntary for me to go in and I finally had to say it ain't happenin on a Friday afternoon. It's because my iron is low and sodium is low
. I just love it when they gang up on me. I could just see me sitting in the hospital for 2 day waiting to see a specialist. I've been there enough to know how that goes.

Yes! The Fire & Ice (Game of Thrones) series is like that. Plus it's midevil fantasy, so all the names are spelled strangely, & figuring out how to pronounce them isn't always easy. But if I don't figure it out I just end up calling them all Joe. That doesn't work when Joe is talking to Joe. Or worse, Joe just killed off Joe & then here comes Joe to avenge Joe. Blah blah doesn't work either. And the Scottish accent! Grrrr. George R R Martin has several series, & he an excellent story teller & conveys a story well, but those names! Phonics works for me.....

George R R Martin stories take some work to get through. All those characters, it felt like I needed to create a chart to keep them straight. It helps me to just pronounce a name in a way that makes common sense to me and stick with it rather than struggling to decide how a name is supposed to be pronounced. It's funny because Mike and I often read the same books and he does the same thing. If we talk about the book at all we find out how each off us calls certain characters.

Me I didn't want to go. I never thought the low sodium could do so much. It has been low for at least a couple of years but never thought anything about it, especially not enough to make it so I couldn't function. That's interesting about the low sodium. We have a neighbor who is having the same problem, but she doesn't have the nutrition absorption problems you do. I was wondering what causes it. Obviously eating a low sodium diet or drinking a lot would factor in, but what in the body regulates it? I should look that up. It seems like such a simple thing, but it causes really big problems. Many years ago my father had a stroke and was told that it was due to his profuse sweating causing him to loose all his salt. So, he just added some to his food and it seemed to solve his problem. That was so many years ago that I didn't put much faith in what the docs were saying, but maybe they were right.

And Patrick, we all have dirty laundry so don't worry about it. We care about what you're going through. Besides, we may learn something important. I'm glad you did see your doc though. He needs to be aware of what's happening so he can help.

See, there is some good news! No new break, and a clear diagnosis of (at least part of) your current concern. Just don't try to eat sodium vapor lights! :w00t:

Yeah no one told me what causes it. They told me no more then 2 glasses of water a day. Low sodium causes a lot of bad problems of which I am having some. Like memory getting very confused. If my leg doesn't start getting better soon I'm going to have to do something. I can't walk at present.

Pat, health problems are nothing to be ashamed of, and most of them are not because of bad habits. They are not punishment from God. God allows them so that we can learn from them. In my theology, and the one you were raised in, we can offer up our sufferings in reparation for our sins and the sins of others. In this way, we can identify with Jesus on the Cross. Death loses its sting for those dying, because of hope for eternal life with Him.

It is only when people sit around complaining of their health problems, and obsessing with them, rather than finding other joys in life, that people lose patience. And it is a symptom of spiritual and psychological ills that must be dealt with.

Have you been watching the wildlife out your window? You used to post some good pictures. Maybe look through your files and re-post them. Or get some deer-bait.

Woops-- baby-watching and talking with family. This is going to be a GOOD day.

I tend to blow off taking vitamins to the tune of I only take them when I start getting exhausted & puny. But if I take them everyday, I bounce off the walls & stress my body. It's like revving an engine with the brakes on. And have more trouble sleeping. I need to take them & find a way to deal with the other.

Yep, 2 avoidable expensive days, parked in a bed with nothing being accomplished but crappy food & tv channels.

I don't know where she gets the hope from. Living with a life ending disease and still chipper. I would've given up a while ago. She still holds on to hope
Hope comes from faith. Listen to her, she is your wife.
