Last Thursday Geordi earned his AKC Intermediate and Advanced Trick Dog titles. We had to do 20 tricks (10 for each title) and he shined! He's a happy boy (cuz Mom is so proud!)

Oh my. Vacation is over. Seems like we just got settled into this rental house at the beach and it's time to pack up and head home. Sigh. I do wonder how my garden is doing (probably weed city) and it will be nice to see our kitties. And then there's all that accumulated junk mail to toss...

Tossing junk mail is the only good thing about checking the mail! The rest is insurance junk & bills. Ugh!

My mailman said if it wasn't for the junk mail he wouldn't have job and I believe him! It does give me some paper to shred for the composter so I guess that's good.

In memory of Dave (Bells), a couple o' pics of part of my Father's Day gift from my girls:

    Bolognese.jpg

    Bolognese serving.jpg

This is a Pork Bolognese Pasta casserole made from a Hello Fresh meal kit. Keep in mind, I'm a 'toss together what ya got available and make it taste good' kinda guy.

But our girls knew that Patty and I aren't dining out any more, so they chipped in for an HF membership. Was somewhat skeptical until I opened today's delivery and started following directions. Actually, the preps, steps and times were pretty much on. Must say the Marinara sauce was super.

Patty now has at least two lunches fer next week!

Will I continue the membership once this one expires? Chances are... probably not. It's not too expen$ive, but also not e¢onomical.

Anyone noticed the SILICONE HANDLE COVER on the skillet? They're on $ale now, two fer $5.99. Luv 'em; heat protection and surer grip!

    PSA:
Please remove silicone handle cover after putting skillet in da oven!!!

    Luv y'all... later...

What a great idea. Our daughter got us a week of Blue Apron which is just like HF. It was fun, but not something I'd do on a regular basis either. I can see where it might be good for somebody who works everyday or maybe someone who has no idea how to cook. Our daughter got a weeks worth of Blue Apron for a baby shower gift. Worked out great so Brian could make some meals in those early days when the baby was new and she was exhausted after getting up so often during the night.

Same here! Once every two or three weeks would be OK with me. I'd get to try sumpin' new without all da shoppin' fer additional required ingredients.

I seem to be slipping back to the place I've been before, that is ,to say I don't feel like I'm getting better and I don't want to be here anymore. I don't like it but that seems to be where I'me heading. I just don't feel like I'm even alive. The world wouldn't stop if I wasn't in it by any means.

Physical healing takes time, and it seems the older we get, the more time it takes. Hang in there, be diligent on your PT, but don't over-do and undo the good.

Emotional healing also takes time. Try to focus on the kids / grandkids, and do what you can to be a presence for them. :2c:

    Patrick,

All I can suggest is to gather old photos, letters and memories to hold on to. I know you're also in pain and that is up to herbs/pharmaceuticals. Just be careful!

I would be absolutely miserable in your circumstances. If I/we can assist in any way, please let us know.

You're a remarkable individual and have been through more than most. And we are rooting for YOU!

No, the world would not end, but a lot of people would very unhappy if you weren't in it. Hang in there, count your blessings and make sure you let your daughter know how you're feeling. Wish we didn't live so far away.

Does anyone have any ideaas that actually work. Get me out of this dark place please. It just seems to be getting worse.-+
    Legs,
Please, please, please talk to your daughter & Dr about getting some professional grief therapy. You cannot isolate yourself from the people who love you h have already shown how much they want to help you.
