Add a hand-held with a choice of patterns. I like a jet or needle spray to rinse hair right down to the roots.
Well, our moving saga takes a new turn next week. 65,000 pounds* of "household goods"
<snip>
For a visualization: think four semi trailers and five or ten of the smaller box vans - at least that's what it took to haul it away from the old house.
And I think we used it today. There are a few skinny aisles, and everywhere else it is piled six to eight feet high. A few reasonably weather-proof items are still outside.Heck, you still have room in there![]()
Welp, Apparently I wasn't so hot at taking that visualization, myself. This is what it looks like with three days of unloading "stuff":
And, there is half as much again arriving today, including my lathe, bandsaw, ironworker (a kind of press), and drillpress. (My big milling machine is in storage with a different company.)

Hi Deb, See if you have a batteries Plus near you. I had to replace the battery in my Samsung and they had it in stock. It has been a couple of years so I don't remember what it cost me.
Well, it turns out that it's fine. When it cooled down after the batt ran down it had been on. When I plugged it in later to check it, as soon as there was enough batt to do it, I turned it on. It started to barely get warm, so I unplugged it, turned it off and left it a few days. Then I thought......could it be the cord....... so I had the kids plug it into a cord in the living room....didn't even get the least bit warm. It finally dawned on me, the reason it had started to barely get warm in the 1st place was that I had turned it on. They do get a little warm when they are on. my DIL talked my son into getting her daughter an I-phone, and my dil said that happened to her phone, but they turned it off, let it cool down and then it was fine. When it first got hot at the Dr office, and wouldn't turn on even though there was batt life, it was super hot, even through the case it was very hot. So that was a super weird thing, but it has been fine ever since thank the Lord!Now that I have my new phone, I wanted to check if the Gal/5 still got hot when charging, and dang it all, the temperature was fine.......no heating! Go figure.
Huh that is interesting, I never heard that. I have a black thumb, and don't even pretend to know about gardening, but I always thought you really needed to till the soil. Get everything all mixed up together and get it loose for planting.I read somewhere that it's good not to till the ground because that messes up the beneficial bacteria etc in the soil.
A couple years ago, I bought something from HSN called Picture keeper connect. It backs up all your photos and contacts, then you can load them on the puter and delete them off the stick. So I did that real quick when it had minimal charge. I have never been fond of syncing everything, but was glad for it, cuz my color notes app I would be lost without and that luckily was on my tablet. Good info to know, but luckily the phone seems fine.@Debadoo I hope you have your phone contents backed up on your PC. If you do, when you get a new phone you can reload the lot on your new one.
Yipes. Glad y'all have internet now! There is no way I could be as thoroughly organized at packing as Uncle is, but @Uncle that is a great way to do it! I typically try to write on the box which room items go in for that box, but invariably there are last minute things that get tossed in whatever box is available, then it's anyone's guess as to where they are. I never thought about a morning/week after box.......that's an excellent idea!Hello! {waving at everyone}
Just thought I'd say Hi from work since we won't have internet until Thursday (I hope) at the new house.
Maybe by then I'll be able to find all my toiletries and clothes in all the boxes in the garage. We have a LOT of boxes and bags to go through. And, of course, they're not even organized in sections by what they are or by who they belong to. It's a scavenger hunt.
that's me! well, it used to be me when I drank several pots a day. Now I get a (large) cup a day.What? A cup?

Noooooooooooooooo!! Unplug it, let it cool down, maybe it'll be fine hehehe Normally I would suggest taking it to someone to see if they can fix it. Generally things that we think are totally gone folks who understand that stuff can fix pretty easy. But it if won't even turn on, I'm not sure how ya do that. I do wonder though if the hard drive is converted, if someone could put a new hard drive in, then see if they can fix the corruption on the old one and transfer stuff. Might be cheaper than new. And you were just braggin to me about how long you'd had it and how good it has been. That really stinks darlin!AND - I NEED a new computer . . . The one I have got cirupted and refuses to boot up since last night . . . Tablet dead also . . .
.
I cannot even imagine, but yeah like someone said.......once you get organized that will be a fantastic shop!Well, our moving saga takes a new turn next week. 65,000 pounds* of "household goods" (a whole lot is my shop stuff) is arriving from storage. Anything not specifically marked Kitchen, Bedroom, or Living Room is going to my 1500 sqft (140 sq m) shop building. There I will sort out what comes into the house, what must be disposed of, and lastly organize the rest into my shop.

lmao! well, at least they were thorough, making sure nothing got left behind! lolI remember opening a box from that 1972 move about 20 years later and found it full of floor sweepings. Apparently one person had swept up and used the box to hold the sweepings; then another person came along, hefted the box, found it full, and neatly taped it up (so of course it got moved).
I LOVE that image and had to steal it! It still saddens me that sooooooooooo many people don't know what memorial day is really. They think it's to honor all military and vets. Vets are Nov 11 of course, and for me active duty is EVERY day!
YES!! to the shower chair, and why don't you have one yet? I done told ya you gotta get another one of them! lol But, similar to what Uncle said, how about a pitcher or something you can lift when it's full, but instead of letting it slowly fill, turn the shower off so it comes out the faucet, fill the pitcher ever how many times ya need to get it rinsed, flip it back to shower. I definitely found that it is easier to sit in a chair, flip your hair forward and rinse it from underneath than to let water go down your back and try to get the underneath all rinsed. Glad you have a great view in your room! Like Diver (I think) said, sounds like a nice place for coffee and a book, or meditation or whatever makes you chill. Glad the move is done. maybe since stuff is all mixed up, the kids can unpack it all and bring you your stuff as they find it.But, what do I do about rinsing my hair? Put a chair in the shower
I just cut a foot off my hair a few weeks ago. I refuse to cut any more off!Otherwise I guess it's the kitchen sink unless you want to cut your hair. Oh no, did I just say that? I was just telling my dil that I wish I had long hair like hers that I could just pull back in a ponytail. Short hair is awful while it's growing in.
When they made the bathtubs handicapped (low sides to step into), they got rid of the regular faucet at the bottom. I guess it makes sense since you can no longer take an actual bath in the tub.turn the shower off so it comes out the faucet, fill the pitcher ever how many times ya need to get it rinsed, flip it back to shower.
hahaha on the scary closet! Jup at least one of em! Yay!! on the paint color and not losing elec. Glad your son's and some others are coming back on. and glad the tree landed in the best spot and didn't cause damage.@pwmeek Our daughter and SIL will be moving in July so they're gearing up for the move. They got some packing boxes from someone who just moved. The boxes were labeled and one of them said SCARY CLOSET". Ha! We cracked up. Doesn't everybody have a scary closet???
Yesterday afternoon we had a quick moving, big storm go through with high winds. We lost a large tree limb, but at least it was right next to our organic trash pile, but otherwise we were fine. Unfortunately the electric went out on a whole lot of people/businesses in our area and still don't have electricity and it's over 24 hours later. Ugh! Our son's elec came back on at 2:30 this morning so at least some areas are coming back online.
Since our elec didn't go out were were able to continue the work on our foyer. We had paneling taken down and the walls have the first coat of paint. I suck at picking out paint color. UNTIL NOW! Think I nailed the color this time. It turned out better than the paint chip looked. Color me surprised!
Derrrr forgot about the wonky tubettes there. But still GO get that shower chair! lolWhen they made the bathtubs handicapped (low sides to step into), they got rid of the regular faucet at the bottom. I guess it makes sense since you can no longer take an actual bath in the tub.
I have that kind of tub. I bought a hand-held so that I could rinse Tippy and my own head more effectively. I do miss baths, but even a bath in five inches of water is good if you really want one. I do have a shower chair, but now I use it to sit on outside of the bath, because the toilet lid is wonky.We have these beautiful rain shower heads in our new bathrooms. They're beautiful, but not very good for rinsing thick long hair.
She, of course doesn't want to change them out for the usual type we use that you can set to higher pressure for rinsing hair. I don't blame her so far as looks go. But, what do I do about rinsing my hair? Put a chair in the shower and sit for half an hour letting the water gently flow over my hair?
I can't even just lie down in a tub of water to rinse because we have handicap tubs with low sides in both bathrooms. No baths in this house.
Oh wait! Maybe the kitchen sink for my final rinse. It has a separate sprayer.
We still haven't found our kitchen stuff. Plates, pots and pans, etc. (We have the minimalist set we took to the apartment, but it gets tiresome washing up after every use, when there is a dishwasher waiting for a load.)I just cut a foot off my hair a few weeks ago. I refuse to cut any more off!
<snip>
I still haven't found my remote control, my other bra, and my other shoes. Among other things. Slowly, slowly, life gets back to normal.
My Eva has several friends in various kinds of extended-care facilities, and is heartbroken that she (or any other of their families and friends) can't visit them. For them to be sick or unable to manage for themselves AND to have to do it alone just tears her up.<snip> Please pray for the coronavirus restrictions to be lifted as soon as is safe so that we can get in there and give them hugs and kisses (and address some issues that have been a challenge with us being on the outside)
Small Iffy update that I am just copying and pasting from the rest of Mandy's email:
Now the bad news: I was at about 3 months and three weeks when they closed the barber shops. My strategy is getting a real test.

Update on Mom and Dad: They are doing well, considering the circumstances. We purchased a portal device for Mom. This has made it possible for us to video call with her and, more importantly, for Mom and Dad to video call. Dad continues to have speech therapy two days a week. He continues to make slow progress. He definitely has an easier time communicating with us when he can show us and point to things rather than explaining them with words. Please pray for the coronavirus restrictions to be lifted as soon as is safe so that we can get in there and give them hugs and kisses (and address some issues that have been a challenge with us being on the outside)

Hair - I normally only get a haircut 3 times a year, so this has resulted in both good and bad news. Since I go four months between haircuts, I get it cut in a particular way that tends to grow out "gracefully". A "good" haircut begins to look shaggy afterwhile, but my system sort of looks like I intended it to be that long at all stages. Now the bad news: I was at about 3 months and three weeks when they closed the barber shops. My strategy is getting a real test.
I had a dental appointment, and Tippy had a grooming appointment when the bar fell.
Thank you!Small Iffy update that I am just copying and pasting from the rest of Mandy's email:
