I was talking to the guy at SkyStream the more expensive Kodi and I asked him do you need to keep your Netflix and HBO and Amazon subscriptions and he said you can but why you can get all the stuff for free. Also asked if my 18Mbps would work or if I needed to upgrade he said that would work just fine and they make sure the Latest versions of the addons are on them before they leave the shop. They are in Orlando I believe.

You mean Nine Mile Falls thats the name of the town I live in. Yeah I haven't really decided if all that tech support and being able to contact someone who speaks English is worth that. I see Netfliz is $2 extra for 4K not sure about Amazong but they will only allow it on certain players like The Fire TV and Roku and nVidia don't know how they can do that. I kinda like my Roku as far as ease of use but it does cost $10 a month. I thought about putting it on my computer but don't want to put it on my new one but thought about the one upstairs and give it a whirl. Not sure how good I'd do with getting Exodus on there though. Have all the instructions tho.

I'd suspect many on the thread tire of the KODI / TV / Tech Talk .. if anyone wants to put together a PM Gang consisting of just those that like the Tech Talk, we'll call it a sub-thread .. put together a list of users on PM and blast it out .. I'd be happy to participate, just someone else do the heavy lifting .. and anyone that does not get on the list and wants to be, can be invited, I think ..

I'm just saying that for a while there, we kind of monopolized things and much of it was redundant and not really of interest to some, at least IMO .. a PM thread would also consolidate all the info and have it available all in one place ..

Good article about the advantages of buying a TV from Costco, and a couple of disadvantages. One suggestion the article makes to find out if the sales associate knows what they're talking about: ask them a question to which you already know the answer, and see what they say. Should You Buy Your LCD Television at Costco?

Do I have it right in my mind that Kodi is a lot like Plex? I had Plex and liked it for a while but only seemed to be able to watch a movie by downloading it first. Plex then served more or less as a storage and viewing device. Some of the movies had links but didn't seem to work most of the time.

Anyway, the computer where I had it died, and I haven't bothered to get it on my new computer. From the little I've read, Kodi might be a bit better for someone like me that just wants to watch movies on the computer. Any thoughts?

I got to thinking about that the other night .. here we are, a small, obscure thread on a PV forum .. and many decided to jump on the bandwagon .. if the "news" spreads like that kind of wildfire, KODI addons will start getting heavy attention

KODI is like Plex .. it is a portal for music / pics / content you have stored on your PC .. it was originally just that, made for the X-Box One .. the addons, which we talk about here, is software coded outside the legit KODI space ..
