Sent from a dark, twisted corner of the back porch, covered in cobwebs and slightly damp.

The saga of the house/money pit continues...
So today was the plumber's turn. What we thought was the main shut off only shut off part of the house. Plumber was going to shut off at the meter to replace some faucet shutoffs. The meter had a bad leak going, he said the shut off looked pretty sketchy and suggested I call the water company to have a look see, and let them shut it off. So I called, the guy came out, called in to schedule the repair and shut off the water(or so he said he did).
Plumber cuts into line under sink to start replacing shut off and I hear "Uh Oh that's not good" from under my kitchen sink. Ma'am could you call the water co back, tell them that the water was not shut off all the way. His helper is now charging back and forth emptying buckets full of water into the bathroom. Kid looked like he was running sprints.
Plumber gave me the choice of cutting the line in the crawl and flooding or flooding the kitchen, and I said do whatever you would do if it was your house so he headed for the crawl space to relocate the newly installed water feature to the crawl space. Water co finally came back out and ended the flood. Plumber went back to finding/fixing leaks and drips. Then had me call to get the water co to come turn on their leaky meter.
Then he went to check under the house for the minor leaks in a couple of the drain lines the home inspector had mentioned. "Ma'am I know you can't get under the house, but you might want to come lean down and look under the house. Your home inspector grossly understated the "minor" leaks he noted. Every time his helper turned on a sink or flushed a toilet it started to rain in the crawl space... sigh.
Another good one Dave, but I really like the P3P flight on 11/24 to the quarry.
I''l try to make this short as possible...
I met a farmer at a Sat. night get-together several months ago. After we both found out each other's love of flying, we spent most of the night talking and sippin' - and I even helped him smoke one of his expensive cigars. He told me he owned a 1946 Piper PA-12 and he'd take me up sometime... also said his computer needed work, so I gladly gave him a business card.
He called me last Friday morning and I went to his place that afternoon. After the computer work, we walked out back to a nondescript metal building, and inside was the most gorgeous old airplane I'd seen outside of an airshow... 70 years old but in immaculate condition -inside and out! He said it had won 'Best of Show' awards several times over the years. He also has a 2500 ft. grass strip through the middle of a huge field out back... push the plane out of the hanger, pivot it 90 degrees to the right, pre-flight check, fire it up, mag check, firewall the throttle, take off! He wanted to take me up, and I wanted to go, but didn't have time! It was a perfect day too - cool, calm, high cumulus clouds punctuating intense blue skies... sigh... We agreed to get back together soon - and I'll tell ya, today wouldn't be soon enough for me!
Between the time I met the farmer and the day I went to his place, I worked on a computer for a man at our local airport who is an Aircraft A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) mechanic. Turns out he's the mechanic for my new farmer friend - he did part of the restoration of the PA-12, and has done the Annual inspections and other work for years. He told me Mr. Farmer used to fly over his fields and take pictures with a 35mm camera, blow the pictures up and study the fields for problems---
BINGO! A perfect candidate to pitch for drone inspections of his fields!
Mr. Farmer and I talked about that and he seemed very interested. I told him I'd need to line up several farmers and enough work to make the investment worthwhile. That really piqued his interest. I can hardly wait to see where this goes...
Good news at the Dr office, glucose, a1c, and insulin are much better and triglycerides are normal.
Ok vapers...

Vaping is not going to go away. I can't wait to be able to point back at this nonsense and the people who perpetrated these lies as one more example of the total lack of common sense of the experts. Just follow the money.
Yesterday's quad copter flight, with a visit to the quarry especially for @umanbean, some places the drone had never visited before, and Xmas music. No dancing, but when I fly today, I promise a dance... I'll have to, to keep warm.
Like I said in the other thread...
I am thankful that there is a choice for kids !
Thankful that they aren't trying out cigarettes and getting hooked on them.
Thankful that they have the option that we never had.
If a kid is gonna 'smoke' they are gonna 'smoke'...nothing is going to stop them.
( nothing would have stopped us ! )
This is the way that I see the future - being able to choose the least harmful product.
i agreemy thought is that if they were gonna smoke, as they're in their middly 20's , they all ready would be smoking.
I AM glad that they never took up smoking...and even if they play with vaping, as the latest fad, that still wouldn't deter them...any youngsters... from smoking somewhere down the road.
Too many young ones are giving vaping a bad name by pushing the limits and blowing things up. Vaping is not the latest n greatest fad...it'a a life-saving alternate to smoking.
well said CindyLike I said in the other thread...
