A lot of people find rayon to have no taste at all, and they even say the same thing about cotton that you're saying about rayon. Everybody's crazy except you and me, although sometimes I wonder about you.

Wow, pines get so tall, that 20 feet could be a lot of damage. Glad it didn't hit anythingn but that's still 20' that has to be cleared.A few months ago we had a pine tree that was hit by lightning - cut it in half and the top half (about 20 ft long) landed 30 ft away (literally blasted) - got lucky - it did not hit anything...
Take care, & have a great day!The morning selfie... Prior to donning all of my gear.![]()

Legs, Lonnie, CW and anyone else with an interest in TC;
I made a coil with 7 wraps of 26 gauge SS 304, 3 mm inside diameter loops, and set it up with Legs' suggested settings of 20 joules and TCR of 0.00102. It's 0.54 ohms. Worked wonderfully well but didn't taste good to me with a rayon wick... I rewicked with organic cotton... yes, that's the ticket! I've got the temperature set at 350 F with a compensation temperature of 75 F.
First DIY coil in over a year, maybe closer to a year and a half. The time has come for me to pay forward the ample supply of rayon that was payed forward to me a couple of years ago... it's so easy to make wicks with it but I know for sure from this and previous experiences that I just can't get over the taste of rayon. Lots of people say rayon is tasteless and that's why they like it more than cotton but put me in the camp that finds the reverse is true.

I guess I'm done with this thread, since even after this post from Classy, certain people continue to insist on baiting others. This isn't Facebook, where I would expect this type of behavior. I wish you all the best, but I've had all the snide comments and remarks I can take.
Rayon wicks differently than rayon, eh?FWIW ... in the early days of rayon ... some people who didn't like the taste came to find because it wicks differently than rayon ... reducing their flavor content caused the off taste to go away. But that seems a stretch and perhaps a pain when going back to cotton is satisfactory.

I've heard the same thing said about both, too. I think it's that taste is subjective thingy. And you are wise to wonder about me! Glad you got it working to your satisfaction Dave
On Rayon, I hear that a lot from locals here, "I don't like the taste of rayon". So I rewick their coils with rayon and they taste nothing but the juice. A few weeks later I see them and they're back on cotton claiming that they just can't get the wicking down with Rayon. They're doing something different but beats me what it is.
I'm sitting here avoiding going to get my bloodwork done.
Blood + work. I wonder what someone would think if they didn't know what that was. Working with/making something with blood? Or, making blood do some kind of work while cracking the whip?
Excuse me for a while, I'll be out back building an ark. It's pouring rain here and looks to continue it for a while. Lots of lightning and thunder too, Abby is hating it. Since we moved down here she has been getting worse and worse about thunder. We got her a "thunder shirt" but it's not helping much. She was flipping out so bad this morning that we gave her a little bit of doggie tranquilizer. Vet gave it to us for travel and it was much, much too strong. A quarter of a pill messed her up so bad that she pooped all over herself. Today she just got a little bitty shaving on a piece of cheese. Seemed to have worked. She's in my lap right now. Still shaking a little but, at least she's not hyperventilating like she was. Looks like it's going to be a long day. I used to really be able to enjoy a good thunderstorm but, since she's been flipping out so bad it's kind of taking the enjoyment out of them.
You know I've heard that the Thunder coat or whatever it's called helps a lot of dogs too.
I got some sad news last week. Mackelton & Finnigan the Corgi's are moving to Missouri around the end of this month. I won't have another chance to sit with them since I'm already booked thru the first week in July. There is one week that includes a weekend that I could squeeze them into, but it would mean leaving one sitting, going to another, & then to a third without coming home myself. But if it meant sitting with the Corgi Bro's one more time I'd prolly do it! Imma miss those little boys!

Any one here have one of those little handy cams? Ginny wants to get one. Our little GD is in a family way. Due in Janurary. She wants us there.
